Thanks Hal--- for pointing out that GW sharks are a protected species. I was really ticked off about that GW that washed up on Navarre Beach. Two weeks prior, Coastal Worldwide had posted a video of them hooking onto a GW that was the same size and on the same beach. Yes, they released it after dragging it onto shore. A shark is going to receive internal injuries when being dragged onto the beach. GW are rare here in the Panhandle. I wish these shore fishermen would stop fishing for sharks. They have no respect for the swimmers. Yes, I am ranting. This is my go to beach !!!

I had just heard it recently and thought it was hilarious, and I thought he would appreciate it. He did. The joke is: Cop to me: Your eyes are red. Have you been smoking pot? Lol had a similar thing happen on the road in Canada (long story short i'm a Brit and at the time I was living in America), I was stuck behind 8 or 9 cars who were stuck behind a lorry on this long ass road. Being a bit of a hot head when driving i'd had enough of waiting and seeing nothing coming far off I decided to over take as no one else was bothered, so I pass one after the other of the cars and finally pass the lorry and I pull back in. As I pulled away I noticed that the first car behind the lorry also overtook it and I thought good for him, I decided to speed up a bit more just to give us some space and that was when the lights started flashing haha, yes it was an unmarked police car, I had to laugh as the lorry and all the cars behind him drove past as I waited for the cop to walk over to my car.... ;)
Great show Hal. As a diver on the Cooper River (over 100) I have seen dolphins and manatees come up the Cooper. The strange thing is no one has reported a bull shark. We dive in what they call black water down here so visibility even with a powerful flashlight can be less then a couple feet. I been thinking about bulls for years but have yet to run into a diver or anyone else who has seen a bull in the Cooper. I really don't think I can blackwater dive until that question is answered. Thanks for all you do Hal, great show.
OMG I laughed so hard when I heard this. Sounds like me and my friends I grew up with lol! I got caught after curfew with a group by a local small town cop. I pretended some guy had been in the bushes across the field trying to kidnap me. I must have been convincing cuz he sped across that field with turf flying all behind him. Out he jumps with this flashlight and frantically searches the bushes... as all us kids pile into our cars and take off. OMG EVERY single time I drove threw Los Gatos in my yellow convertible Mustang, they would follow me from the one side of the town to the other till I was out of the city limits. LOL I think that cop had egg on his face and it became legendary! LOL Your stories just slay me! And if you EVER come thru CA and flip someone off you might get the pew pew back so I would make sure not to do that here. They're nuts and they aren't the cops!

Bullsharks are the "buttholes" of the ocean (along with Tiger sharks). They'll bite anything.. just to bite it. Then swim off behind some coral to laugh about it and then go back for more

If attacks they will be from Shark Attack books(2) by H David Baldridge or Mammoth Book of attacks. I usually use internet site stories and news clippings before the Mammoth book tho. Baldridge i go by what he says

I drive this stretch of road that goes from 1 lane to 2, back to 1 lane and i swear if there is someone going under the speed limit i will do everything in my power to go around them 😂 its always a battle of speeding in the opposite lane to pass cars going the speed limit or under. Cali backroads are wild 💀 only time i was pulled over was when I changed lanes last second so i could pull into a gas station and i accidently cut off a cop 😂 i was so apologetic he was busy telling me not to worry about it and to not let it ruin my day that he never asked for my license.. im so glad he didnt because I didnt have one at the time 😂😂

Absolutely agree about the territorial attack claim. Sharks biting each other to claim the prey is very common. I believe it is the number one cause of majority of shark attacks.

Last month a UA-cam fishing channel guy caught a great white off the beach in southeast FL...a *big* GWS. I watched the video. They released it without tagging it of course. If they caught it off the beach, that means there are GWSs swimming off the beaches of Florida.
Remember: Whenever you go out on that highway, you are much more afraid of those smokies than they are of you. An attack, but not an attempt to predate. Hey - next time get a ticket lawyer. They usually can get you off (so to speak). A buddy of mine was "merging" with traffic at about 120 mph on a BMW K1300S and he got busted. Hired a ticket lawyer and got it reduced to not wearing his seat belt, which is a non-moving violation that doesn't go on your record. No seatbelt on a motorcycle? What?
I went to my favorite fishing spot at a lake last monday like I usually do. I hooked myself a 36 inch pike and when I was removing the hook, it bit me in the thumb. I had to get five stitches and will be unable to work for at least three weeks. So if you go into that water... 😂

I think the guy who was on a surfboard being towed by a shark that he 'hooked' is a 'fake'--If you look carefully, there is no tail fin either thrashing or even breaking the surface.
