I absolutely love this gun, I know it isn't for everyone but I hope it has a long life and stays on shelves. If they made a performance series, I'd buy one too.
Ill wait for the performance center version or 2.0 to come out. S&W usually figures out what the customers really want in their new models after its out for awhile and usually do a P.C. or 2.0 version i.e. a better trigger, optics cut, and a pic rail. A SA/DA version would be nice too.
This is a cool idea, I have been bored with all the polymer guns in the past few years. So this is awesome, count on S&W to bring something new to the table. Happy 2022 Julie, I wish you and your family well !

Love your presentations. I like the top serrations, not for glare, I find they help me follow the front sight as they draw my eye toward it. I want to add to the 30 super carry and optics option desire.
I love that S&W has added this metal framed, single action, micro compact option to their line up at a more affordable price than the micro 1911s clones currently on the market.

Based solely on your share, Julie, this looks like an interesting blend of Shield EZ, Shield Plus, M&P, with a smidge of 1911 thrown in for good measure. I am intrigued! Hmm. Mine came in Friday, couldn't be happier....some UA-cam reviewers had complained about the trigger, but I love it.....a pocket 1911.. .life is good!
I had one of these in my hands at the gunshop today.... If I hadn't just bought a Shield plus a few months back.... this pleasant surprise came out of nowhere. Julie, ya gotta help me convince the wifey I need another S&W....thank you for a great video...you have fantastic presentation skills and a wonderful personality... S&W did good ......

Got a chance to handle this gun yesterday at my local shop and it’s a contender for my next purchase for sure. Felt great in my hands, points very naturally and has a good weight to it.

I bought this gun when it first came out and love it.
Good video. I'm very interested in this to replace my Sig P938. Appears to be a similar form, but with higher capacity. In all honesty, I'm a dinosaur. Not a fan of striker fired polymer guns. The only one that ever really caught my interest was the original Shield and the .45 version of the Shield. As an old revolver shooter, I'd love to see that comparison with the M36, the OG Chief's Special. I doubt many people will be cross shopping the two, but it would be fun, as they do fill the same role. God Bless & Happy New Year.

I'm REALLY digging this model already! It kind of reminds me a bit of a 3rd gen model. Like maybe a 6914 I suppose but SAO. I would love a little bit more grip and maybe a compact vs a micro.

Thanks for the tip on the option to take the “donut” off the 12rd mag. I did this, and found I still have a good pinky grip, and can’t possibly pinch my palm slapping a mag up in place. Brilliant!

The humble marksman has a great unbiased review that clears up a lot of questions like what kind of trigger it is ( hinged, not like a 1911), how the mags and blackstrap work and ergonomics. Nice video

As smooth as this lil guy is, I think I'll wait another year to get one.... I would like to see it really put thru it paces see how it really holds with excessive heavy use.

Finally, a small single action 9mm! Love the 1911 but do not enjoy the almost three pound weight that it generally comes with. How is the field strip for it? Does it field strip like a 1911 or the Shield?

Finally bought one, glad I waited. I did try a loaner at range I goto in Austin ... Shot better than my EDC G26. Had to buy and got an awesome cost, less than MSRP.
Glad to see s&w bring back their hammer fire metal frame pistol. Hope this does well and they make larger size models as well like they use too. You do have coolest job ever Julie!

I like it. But will hold out for the mid size / large frame version. Preferably a double action with a decocker and a rail. But this coming with a double stack magazine, is a plus! I do love the hammer, and metal frame. I hope those make a come back!

Excellent pistol. I love mine. My only gripe is the trigger. Mine measures 5 lbs. I would like it a tad lighter...about 4 lbs, but after about 200 rounds it seems to be getting better as most pistols do. Thanks Julie!

Hi Julie. A couple of the safety features you forgot to mention, with the manual safety on you can rack the slide and also it has a half cock safety hammer position. Great review and can't wait to see you putting it in action. Happy New Year

Since you've got inside information on S&W... will the CSX be compatible with shield and/or M&P aftermarket sights? Also- does S&W have any intentions on adding an accessory rail on this new CSX?

Thanks for introducing this new gun. I’m kind of excited about it but more so for my wife. Can you compare this to the shield ez 9 and the shield plus? I’m most interested in how much force is needed to rack the slide compared to the other two.

Love the original shield and the plus. My wife has a bodyguard. Would appreciate a comparison of trigger pull on the shield to CSX trigger pull. I prefer hammer fired guns and do like that this gun can carried cocked and locked. So reviewers don’t like the pull, so a comparison of it and plus would help. Thanks for the video and yes you have the best job ever.
Glad the model stands for Chiefs Special (eXtrordinaire) and not just well, lonely letters. Beats Chessie Southern Express which are fine in themselves but of course, already taken.

Great videos I as you am a Smith&Wesson fan the wife and I own multiple S&W products.
I enjoy them all.
It's good to see Smith embracing metal framed pistols again. What I wonder is if they plan on making it available in the shiny new 30 Super Carry they're backing? And if so, how soon before that and other variants come to market?
I can't speak on future products but it would be VERY cool to see this in Federal's Super Carry.
I have the original Shield and its always been 100% reliable, but even after a few thousand rounds it is still a stiff pull to rack with arthritic hands. I also have the Shield 380 EZ which is almost like racking a 22, and it too has been a flawless performer though its larger but it is thin. A 380 is nothing to sneeze at but doesn't pack the punch of a 9. I was thinking of Sheild Plus but this one has me thinking. Hopefully my local range has one to rent, and an added benefit is a rentail gun will get put through its paces and anything that can hold up as a rental should be a good indication of the overall quality and reliability.
They still make the E series 1911, it is gorgeous.
I think this is a good gun for the new 30 super carry , and I am glad to see a new metal gun in a sea of plastic frame guns.( and this is from a revolver guy) . and yes, I think Julie is the perfect spokesperson. hope we see more videos with her.
