    Great video Julie. One issue were seeing with some of the popular gun tubers is that the trigger reset is throwing some shooters off. I just bought a performance center shield plus to go with the rest of my M&Ps. Again, thanks for the video

    • @juliegolob

      I've pinned the trigger a couple of times mostly because it's been really cold every time I've shot it. It's just a matter of getting used to it, same with any trigger. The gun has such a short stroke in general I don't even care about reset personally.

    I've been using Galco holsters for a few years. Mostly for full sized S&W revolvers and 1911's. Both S&W K and L frames. Been using the FLETCH and the Phoenix holsters.
    When you said Galco is in the process of a new design for the CSX in the near future it was good news. I can imagine the Combat Master holster to be just the thing. A strong side, open top holster that is permitted under USPSA and IDPA. One thing about leather holsters it makes you look good. Even in a tuxedo.

      I second the request for a comparison to the 3913/3914 series. While they lack some of the features of newer guns (interchangeable backstraps for example) I really like how they fit my hand & how they shoot. The extra capacity of the CSX is obviously one thing they can't match.

    I’m a little late the game. I’m not sure if you’ll see this, but I just wanted to check in something. Some revolvers have transfer bar safeties to prevent the hammer from igniting the round if the trigger isn’t pulled. This helps to minimize the risk of negligent discharge if the hammer snags on something or if someone tries to manually cock the hammer and slips and lets it go. Does this SA have a similar safeguard? I’m a fan of your shooting. I didn’t realize that you posted videos like this as well. You do great job with your videos. Very engaging and informative.

    I really like the CSX. It’s a modern version of the Colt Mustang with better features, more capacity in a much more powerful cartridge. But, I’ll be waiting for an optics ready version. That would make this gun just about perfect. I hope I’m not making a mistake by waiting for something that’s not coming though.

    Have a 40 S&W semi and a 357 magnum revolver, but this was the one that made me want to get a 9mm. Unfortunately, I live in California, but am hoping court cases do away with the Roster. If the dovetails for the sights matched the Shield Series, XS sights would fit (hint, hint).

    I know some people are complaining about the apparent lack of grip surface on the CSX, but (not having handled one, yet) it seems to me that most of what's needed to stabilize a gun is on a grip's front and rear surfaces, to counteract muzzle rise, not the area left bare on the CSX. I don't believe this CSX will replace my Shield Plus, but I'd be interested in a compact-size (3.7" - 4" barrel) version.

    • @juliegolob

      Exactly. It has texturing in the right places and I like the look, though full texture would be fine too. Would be an issue with the smaller backstrap I suppose

    I like that fast shot-to-shot recovery, it says a lot about the engineering of the CSX. Looking forward to a take-down video; the main complaint I've heard, repeatedly, from M&P owners is needing three hands for disassembly!

    Being a ‘Boomer’ this pistol has been enjoyable in many ways. While not a 1911 type handgun, it does have some elements that evoke that style. And it’s almost identical in size and weight to the Walther PPk/s (one of my historical favorites) while holding more rounds of a more potent cartridge. Great gun for sure and mine has been flawless for several hundred rounds of factory, self defense and reloaded ammo.

    The CSX is much like my first pistol S&W 3913 Tactical all metal barely any larger than the Shield but smaller than the 9c. Although the 3913 is double/single action and 3 lb trigger right out of the box but 7 rd. Still a desired carry gun today and still sells for higher than buying new against the M&P. Now being born with hand deficits and accumulating injuries caused by Stiff Person Disease at times I can't utilize my 06/07 Shield so by necessity I am considering something easier but not any larger than the shield. Love all metal pistols and the CSX just might work. With my hands a safety is a must especially to holster. Add the SPS disease and lesser reach I have makes holstering the top concern, safety on, holster, make sure trigger is clear and safety off. I must have the external safety but those wide toggle safties on the compact and up switch too easily while the wide toggles on the Shield EZ seem more positively set. I had to alter them for the 9c I carry at times because I must have them. Hope the CSX works well enough for me. Love my Shield! One last comment. I've gone without a concealed carry for two weeks once which is why I bought the Shield. I bought the 9c as a backup carry so I never hath to go without again while making the 9c the home defense pistol. The 3913 Tactical is too special to me to carry.

    Julie, the biggest complaint I have been hearing about the CSX is about the “false” trigger reset. Has anything been changed on that or are they even looking in to it? As a competition shooter yo must have an opinion about it? Keep up your awesome work!!

    • @juliegolob
      @juliegolob  7 місяців тому +1

      Personally, I think people get too wrapped up in trigger reset. If you're a competition shooter with the goal to shoot as fast as possible or if you're a shooter who only uses one brand with all the same triggers/same size grip, reset is more often more important to you. I don't worry about it. Why? I shoot everything from AR's to revolvers, single-action to striker-fired pistols. One sure fire way to pin the trigger or cycle the cylinder on a loaded chamber (wheel gun) is to ride the reset. The more guns you shoot, the more grips you handle, the more variation in triggers -- all these things make you instead focus on a speedy return and a good prep for the next shot, not the auditory or even "feel" of a reset. You can certainly have excellent and controlled shot-to-shot splits while not fixated on a reset point. As for the CSX. this grip is also very small and the trigger reach is short. In fact, it may even be too small a pistol for someone with really large hands who may not have enough dexterity in their fingers to even ride a reset that close to the palm of their hand. You have much more control over how you move your trigger finger when it's not curved too far toward your palm. Finally, after shooting their CSX's, many people don't notice the "false reset" anymore. Maybe it works its way out, maybe they just learn how to shoot the trigger.
