    I honestly enjoy this. I really want to freelance like you but I have just basic skill. These re actually helping me.
    Suggestion: make more tutorials on commonly ordered stuff like the UI tutorial u did. 😁

    I just want to say a massive thankyou; I'd been looking to create a simple 3D animation for a background intro for my YT channel, and my 3D skills were not only rusty, but founded in a decade-old program called Realsoft 3D.
    I followed this tutorial and, with some tinkering to change the appearance to something more metallic, I now have a nice looking animated background to tide me until I brush up my skills and make something more complex!
    Also thanks for the text tutoriel! 😜

    how can i make it flat ?

  • @shawnhollahan590

    Hello Derek, I absolutely love you and your tutorials. I have a request. I have been mastering blender to create scientific animations for labs and universities and need to make complex molecular animations and accurate renditions of cell structures and activities. I have read that Blender is a great tool for scientific visualization but I dont code and need guidance. Example.... the cell wall is a bi-lipid layer made of zillions of tiny objects that look like two legged octopus. How does one create an array of these octopi that is realistic when there are literally millions of them in an array? How does one create an array that is intentional and organic in form (not just made of modifiers) and animate it? How about basics of python coding? Can you Please help ?

    • @DerekElliott
      @DerekElliott  4 роки тому

      For certain things like this with millions of objects it may make more sense to use a particle system.

    So the edge split effect only works on round cubes? I can't get it to work for an ordinary plane.

    • @DerekElliott
      @DerekElliott  4 роки тому

      It should work on anything. You may have to define an angle though. If it's flat like a plane you'd need to set that angle to zero

    • @iamugenius
      @iamugenius 3 роки тому

      Derek Elliott Hi Derek. Cool tutorial, thanks. Could you give an advise please. If I’m using flat plane, where I have to set angle to zero?

      You need to adjust the radius in the little menu to the lower left of the screen after you add the mesh. I had same problem...maybe due to a difference in version.
