- "How to" do (Pinan, Heian, Pyong An) Pyung Ahn Sam Dan for Tang Soo Do (Korean Karate). Here is the third form in a series of five forms. This is a mechanical walk-through to be used as a reference for Pyung Ahn Sam Dan (평안 삼단).

Thank you for these videos. I've been watching for a while now, and really appreciate the time you have put into these videos. I started Tang Soo Do 20 years ago, and I am finally getting ready to test for my 3rd dan. When I started training years ago, the guy I trained with took this form out and the Naihanchis because he didn't like them (nice, huh?). Years later, I finally found a traditional TSD 8th dan that wants everything how it is supposed to be for my testing. This is helping me a lot!

imagine being an orange belt and trying to learn everything up to 1st Dan BB before reaching purple... Couldn't be me
Can I ask smth rlly out? Here the belt system of tangsoodo is
White
Half orange
Orange
Half green
Green
Half blue
Blue
Half red
Red
Half black
Black
But when I search on Google it shows also brown belt.. Why?
Over the years I've seen all kinds of belt colors leading up to black belt. It really just depends on the organization. For my students, they start with White and progress through, Yellow, Orange, Green, and Red Belts. A long time ago Tang Soo Do only had White, Orange, Green, and Red Belts before the black belt.

What belt is pyung ahn is this black belt ?
Pyung Ahn Sam Dan is the form requirement for the 5th Gup rank (Green Belt with a stripe). Thanks for watching!

Pyung Ahn means peace of mind, and the animal characteristic is that of a turtle. But you usually only see that used in Tang Soo Do. I haven't come across that that in Okinawan or Japanese styles.
