I just wanted to say a huge thank you for these videos; they are absolutely amazing. I just started my TSD training 5 months ago at 42 years old but have studied your forms videos over and over again. I’ve always been one that likes to “read ahead” (hence my commenting on the pyung ahn sa dan video!), and these videos have really helped me learn and appreciate forms beyond my belt level, and also have helped me to study and improve on my fundamentals in between classes. Excellent teachings!
Great to hear! Happy to know these have been helpful to you on your Tang Soo Do journey. Thank you very much for watching! Had you done any martial arts before starting TSD?
@@Rockholdkarate no this is my first time doing anything like this, although I’ve always wanted to as a kid. I enrolled my 8 yo son at Yonsei martial arts here in the New Orleans LA area and figured since I had to learn the basics to practice with him I might as well take the plunge too!
Thank you Sir our club in scotland is in alness called BKMAS its in the Highlands, and thank you for the video, Sir you have helped me so much Tang soo👊
This is my next form to learn to get my red belt! I just did my green belt second stripe test. Talk about getting a reality check on the expectations getting HARDER! 😅 Thanks for posting these! Tang Soo! 🥋
Congratulations on your promotion! Yes, the bar gets higher as you progress. Be a sponge when it comes to learning, absorb it all in. Then analyze, work it over, ask questions, and work it over more. Thank you for watching! Tang Soo!👍🥋👊
At the beginning of the form it sounds like you say the middle assisted block is Sang Sudo Maki 2:05 and the three at the end 3:58 it sounds like you say Sang Soo Maki. Are these different blocks. Also what is the correct spelling? Thank you sir.
Oops, I misspoke at 2:05, it should technically be Hu Gul Ssang Soo Ahneso Pahkuro Mahk Kee, if you are going by Hwang Kee's book from 1992 which was a reprint of his book from 1978. Side note, the book also calls it a "Two Fisted Block with Hu Gul Or Back Stance". Anyway, somewhere along the way it has gotten shortened to Hu Gul Ssang Soo Mahk Kee. So the block at 2:05 and the ones at 3:58 are the same. At some point I need to fix the Closed Captions too, LOL! Thanks for watching!
The old romanization was Ssang Soo and you'll see that quite often. However The Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism (MCST) of South Korea updated their romanization system. So you'll see Ssangsu stemming from the Hangul 쌍수, which literally translates to duel wield. This is also used in Kummooyeh, the Sword martial art I train in. Ssangsu used in Kummooyeh is referring to two-handed sword.
Thank you very much! That is the plan. I've already done Chil Sung Ee Ro Hyung, be sure to go check it out, even have a playlist for the Chil Sung Hyungs. I plan on doing Pyung Ahn O Dan this week and will be doing Chil Sung Il Ro Hyung next week. Thanks for watching!
Thank you, Sir! These are the best TSD videos I've seen. Far better than the DVDs I wasted my money on.
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate the huge compliment! Thanks again for watching!
What Dojang are you from
You’re the best karate teacher anyone can possibly have
Thank you very much! I appreciate the compliment and humbled by it. There are plenty of amazing martial arts instructors out there too.
