Beams of fire sweep through my head
    Thrusts of pain increasingly engaged
    Sensory receptors succumb
I am no one now, agony
My crimson liquid so frantically spilled
The ruby fluid of life unleashed
Ripples ascend to the surface of my eyes
Their red pens drawing at random, at will
A myriad pains begotten in their wake
The bastard spawn of a mutinous self
The regurgitation of my micro nemesis
Salivating red at the prospect of my ruin, my doom
Malfunction the means for its ascent
Bloodletting the stringent voice to beckon my soul
    So futile any resisting tension
As death-induced mechanics propel its growth
The implement, the device of my extinction
The terminating clockwork of my gleeful bane
The definitive scourge of its mockery
    The end-art instruments lethality attained
Heed, it commands, heed my will
Bleed, it says, bleed you will
Falling into the clarity of undoing
Scornful gods haggle for my soul
Minds eye flickers and delegates as I let go
    Taunting whispers accompany my deletion
A sneering grin, the voice of my reaper
Chanting softly the song of depletion

I like how well the bass is mixed in this version, since you can barely hear it in the original mix. That’s why I’ve always liked that sound on some of the older albums like DEI and Chaosphere since you can clearly hear the bass as a separate entity from the guitars.

No, if you paid attention, the specific STYLE of metal that Meshuggah uses is the base inspiration, according to Mick Gordon himself, is the STYLE that mostly inspired his soundtrack.

@@TheHylianJuggalo yes. doom's soundtrack is based off of this type of death, i agree but my point still stands, i would not have left that reply if the op said 'doom's soundtrack was based around the same sub-genre of metal that meshuggah uses', instead he said 'This is just DOOM without the electronic bits :D'. if you look carefully you may be able to tell that those two are slightly different. i must applaud your ability to take what i say slightly out of context, my bad for saying 'on any metal track' as opposed to 'any metal track that has a relatively high bpm along with the use of tuned down guitars and double or even triple kick drum pedals...' , i will admit fault for that but you seem to misinterpret the original intent of my reply, it was not to say 'every metal song sounds like doom, please dont say every metal song sounds like doom', it was to point out that on a lot of the quick and djenty stuff, people comment 'this sounds like doom' constantly, which im pretty sure is mostly just people copying other comments and has also been said 20 quadrillion times. i say 'i mean cmon man i know you got better than that' not to try to insult the op, quite the opposite, im trying to make a point that something of more value can be said other than repeating the same words hundreds of other people have said, and that it really does not take much to just innovate even a little. i would end with a snarky remark such as you have but i dont see it necessary.

Thx been trying to learn it perfectly for all I can bullshit my way through it but the bleed it says the high e flats before the chimes I forgot how to do them so its nice to chain everything together but that solo is just not playable on my nine string with bass n rhythm and I love that solo so until someone else does it perfectly as an appearance it's gonna be a song I never get to play live unfortunately

I prefer this version to the original one because with overwhelming death throat accent of the vocal I really have a hard time figuring out what the lyrics and baseline are.

Also, without lyrics, this piece really shows the meaning of repetition legitimizes.

@@worhed3722 no shame on you bruu, for not wanting the ability to choose between instrumental and original whenever you want. To admire the song as a whole or to just enjoy the great muscisianship without the distraction of the vocals mght depend on your mood. Wanting instrumental songs uploaded from a band you love is not a bad thing and does not take away from the band itself.
