Play at 0.75 or 1.25 times the normal speed and still the music is glorious in its own way . This is not 1 song. Its 3 songs and another dimension in one!
2:56 Is it just me, or am I hearing bits of the growls seeping in? Not just here either. Maybe the other players mics picked them up while they were playing? Assuming they recorded together in a room.
depends on the song, I personally love Dark Tranquility - Misery's Crown the instrumental is awesome but the way they did it, it just enhances the vocal, not overpowered or drown it out. It just a perfect mix at least to me ears.
I love this groove. Let me start with that. However, the instrumental version is worse.....the same thing over and over again for 7 minutes.....its almost like that crap hi hat trill rap artists use today, except this is slightly better. I love metal, and i love this groove, but it does get annoying. I can listen fpr about 2 minutes and that is all. I am sure I am in the minority, but ANY song that is longer than 4-5 minutes loses my attention.
9 years later and this song still blows my fucking mind.

I can say the same.
I can still hear Jens's voice

Great comment, but, to my knowledge, Meshuggah were never blatantly anti-Christian? Correct me if I’m wrong.

Yep the sound mixing for the studio album didn't favor the bass presence >_>

Beams of fire sweep through my head
Thrusts of pain increasingly engaged
Sensory receptors succumb
I am no one now, only agony
My crimson liquid so frantically spilled
The ruby fluid of life unleashed
Ripples ascend to the surface of my eyes
Their red pens drawing at random, at will
A myriad pains begotten in their wake
The bastard spawn of a mutinous self
The regurgitation of my micro nemesis
Salivating red at the prospect of my ruin, my doom
Malfunction - the means for its ascent
Bloodletting - the stringent voice to beckon my soul
So futile, any resisting tension
As death-induced mechanics propel its growt
The implement, the device of my extinction
The terminating clockwork of my gleeful bane
The definitive scourge of its mockery
The end-art instruments lethality attained
Heed - it commands, heed my will
Bleed - it says, bleed you will
Falling into the clarity of undoing
Scornful gods haggle for my soul
Mind's eye flickers and vellicates as I let go
Taunting whispers accompany my deletio
A sneering grin, the voice of my reaper

Wish there was an instrumental version of all Meshuggah songs. Can't find Marrow with Haake's drums anywhere
The kick drums remind me of how a top fuel dragster engine sounds at idle, or one of those V twin motors for the big harley bikes Lol.
Would be cool to have the "other" track isolated as well, so we can hear isolated backing guitars.

They're taken from the Rock Band stems since Bleed by Meshuggah was put into Rock Band through the Rock Band Network with the individual tracks.
