Thats impurities you're scraping off the top. You need to flux the lead Heating the mold will help out tremendously Anything else after that you scrape off the top after the lead is clean is just dross from oxidation. You want to clean the lead and make purified ingot's then do this. I only have one functional hand at the moment due to an arm injury at work so this is a very generic explanation of the process. Ive been casting lead types as long as I can remember. Good job on this video though it will help people who are starting out a lot
Is it dangerous to put lead in the waterways...I mean I know you can't use lead shot for duck and waterfowl any more in my state...so is this toxic to the enviornment any way? I just found a can full of these and had to Google what they were that's how I ended up here. Great tutorial!
In this fishing how to video I demonstrate how I make my lead fishing weights. It's a pretty easy process and saves me some cash on buying new ones.
mantap bro,sukses👍
I have been thinking of doing the same. Nice video buddy!!
Thanks. It’s a easy simple process.
Makes sense.
I heat my mold up also. Helps me
I’ve done that was well for the first batch.
I’ve heard of people using oil on the rods but I have not found that to be any help
where do you get lead material?
I use the leads of my old cast nets, otherwise you can buy lead ingots on Amazon or at certain sporting good stores

Always check your local laws, but lead is the most common material for making fishing weihhts
I am pouring out of 25 lb pot making 234 lb in open garage do I need mask. Don’t breathe fumes
I would always suggest a ventilator when working with lead or steel. There is a condition called Metal Fume Fever and it is fatal.
