    More beautiful than original ,but I think it’s wicker in general. Etching and stone wash plus brass and g10 instead of steel makes it less durable.

    • @FittoSurvive
      @FittoSurvive  Рік тому +1

      Thank you!
      The acid etching creates a light crystalic layer on the surface of the steel which does not compromise the strength of the steel. This acid etched finish could be polished back off without much effort.
      The original liners are not steel but aluminum. So the G10 liners will actually be more durable and will have more longevity than the original aluminum liners.
      And the titanium scales will last ages longer than the original plastic scales. 😉

    Love what your doing! I have a question, I have most of the tools to be able to try and modify my own swiss army knives.. I am wondering though, where are you getting the brass pins/ longer rods from? What size is needed for mini and what size is needed to do the 91mm style SAKS? Also, I know there are numerous places selling metal scales, but where are you getting yours from? Etsy?

    • @markmaherr
      @markmaherr 3 роки тому +2

      Also, are you reusing the little brass "donut" nubs that are on the scale ends? Like the part the scales snap into? If not, where can I get those? Another thing, for g10, what size g10 for spacers? Sorry about all the questions, i just want to make a few for myself! 🙏🙏🙏

    • @FittoSurvive
      @FittoSurvive  3 роки тому +2

      I included an Amazon link in the description for the brass rods, they fit perfectly. 91mm SAKs need 2.5mm rods and 2.2mm rods. Etsy and Ebay are the best places to buy scales, but if you can wait a month or two Aliexpress also has several options. It is critical to not damage the "donut washers" as they have to be reused or scavenged from another donor SAK. The G10 is 1mm thick.
      Hope that helps! 😁
