Hi Kaylee, I have really been enjoying your videos and learning so much! At 64 years old, after a 28 year career as a paramedic, I am finally following my heart towards my new life’s work in natural healing, especially as an herbalist. Soon I will begin formal training in herbal medicine (via an online classroom) and so looking forward to getting started. Your videos and knowledge, as well as your mom’s knowledge, will greatly assist me on my new journey. I think I will sign up for your class too!
Thank you for all you do!!!

SAM'S CLUB has had fresh organic ginger root in the produce dept for about a month or so.
I bought some intending to pickle it and make ginger honey and freeze fresh. But it sat on my counter and sprouted so I thought AWSUM!! ILL PLANT IT!
I went back to Sam's a month later and they still had it, and I still wanted to preserve some for right now, so I bought more.
Just so y'all know! Check your local Sam's Club before you send away for organic roots and pay top dollar plus shipping😊

Here's a tip for heating greenhouse, line the sunny side, inside wall, with 55gal drums of water. It absorbs heat all day then keeps house warmer at night.

A good source for organic ginger, at least here in central NY has been BJs. They sell a box of over 1 lb for under 10$. Which local seed supplies sell less than a lb for about $20. I’ve got plans to get it into pots and transplant out to the garden when it’s warmed sufficiently. I’ve also got turmeric currently growing in a pot and the plan is the same. Found that at a grocery store for $4/lb while visiting a friend in Massachusetts last summer. Treasures are out there in unexpected places.

I was so excited that we successfully grew ginger last year. I'd actually watched Jill's video on ginger and she really encouraged me. I love watching you share this too. I will do it again. We did containers. Ginger is most definitely a favorite.

This stuff grows on my counter here it’s so hot and humid (10b)… if you are successful (I wouldn’t plant until after your frost dates are over). But when you get the growing time solid- try shampoo ginger- I can send you some rhizomes

I am below you in TN zone 6B. I grew ginger out in my garden, last year. I have eaten it all but for a few pieces I have planted in pots. They will go out into the garden in May, to be harvested after the first light frost; around November.

    Ginger also helps with vertigo.
My mom used to get it really bad but after starting on Ginger it's never come back. I personally drink it all day in most of my tea. Also like to mix it with turmeric and black pepper or cayenne pepper. 👍

I grew Ginger last year not a lot but just enough to enjoy and I made fermented Ginger honey and I love it it's excellent in tea. 😊Also I'm just curious I hope your mom is okay I haven't seen her in any of the videos lately and I miss her smiling face so I hope all is well with her. I don’t know about where you guys are but we don’t have to do any of that, just toss it in the ground (well here it literally sprouts on the counter b/c it’s hot and humid), but we haven’t needed to soak or spray ours.
Try again in summer to see if you can do it there also😉 I’m a big fan of lazy gardening lol

For ginger they only need a very wide growing area not deep. They stay very very shallow. And if soaked overnight first it really gives them a head start!

Awesome. This is my third year growing ginger, yellow orange turmeric and black turmeric in containers. I love harvesting them ❤ Are we able to ask questions in the corse? I have hashimotos and other autoimmune. There are so many things that I supposedly can not consume because of it. I want to learn why I can’t use it and what are the risks if I did. I love lemon balm and so many others. I can’t find answers to why I can’t have them, or if a cup of tea is really going to hurt me. My doctors don’t know either. I did read about the corse but I didn’t see if anything like this is covered. I hope this is ok to ask. I appreciate you both so much. ~ Robyn

Hi, thanks! Would it be easy to grow a small thing of ginger in a small pot indoors? How long does it take to begin seeing roots and shoots? I've been growing some garlic in a glass jar (saw some green shoots coming out when I bought some at the grocery, so I decided it was a good sign and now there's 3 inches of the green part for one of the cloves and about an inch and a half of roots! Can ginger be started in water as well, or does it have to be in dirt?

So, I'm thinking, (Yes - scary). If you are growing it so shallow in this 100-gallon container, then why grow it in a 100-gallon container? I grew it last year in a 6" D x 6"W x 2' Long planter and it did fine. I feel like it will never grow that big, that it will fill that container to its depths.

    • @TheHoneystead

Oh I’m sure!!! I plain to do more with these bags, but mainly like how they are higher up off the ground for me :)

    • @andrewhammill6148
      @andrewhammill6148 4 місяці тому

@@TheHoneystead I can dig that. I'm almost 65. Higher up is always good. LOL. But - here's a thought, (again - scary). Plant the ginger in a wide semi shallow planter on a raised surface container. It's not like you don't have a sawmill. Get creative with that thing. And use the deep big a _ _ grow bag for taters, or something of that nature. I love your channel and your honey is the best.
