Hey, so this is for someone who has NOT bought any Hyperx products like me.
I was so confused about the Cloud II and Cloud alpha. Everyone is saying 50/50 and you don't know who to believe.
I had a problem with my old headset my ears started to burn every time I put them on but Cloud Alpha covers all around your ear what is so soft and comfortable.
I was even between the Kraken 7.1 V2 Chrome (Haven't bought any Razer products too) but everyone said they break so quickly and are very uncomfortable to wear after a few hours.
I went to the store and was gonna buy Cloud 2 but for the last second I changed my mind and got the Alpha version.
I DO NOT regret this decision at all
The sound is so clear even the bass is pretty good.
I like the design too blackk&red.
I spent 90euros on this and damn I like them so much.
Finally, my ear is in heaven
    Thank you for reading this
P.S sorry for my bad English

I'd go with the HyperX just because Eber likes them better. Fanboy-ism ? No, eyeglasses wearer. And trust me, if someone who wears glasses prefers the compfy of a headset over another, I'll trust him.
You should talk about this more during your headset reviews !

    • @copboom555
      @copboom555 6 років тому

This is not always the case unless you're a eyeglass wearer yourself. There are times glasses open the headphones themselves making the sound less-isolated which can make a big difference in sound quality just by letting in that much air. Another thing to consider is clamping force, glasses can alleviate the tension from headphones for better or for the worse. This means comfort varies from eyeglass wearer to someone that does not wear glasses.

    • @suRGEangl
      @suRGEangl 6 років тому +1

cop boom I guess but that doesn't happen often, especially for HyperX, I have the cloud II and with or without glasses the sound is exactly the same, not only that but I've also tried the Cloud Flight and again, same sound. So I'd say the sound doesn't change at least for HyperX products, all of the designs are similar.

I prefer the G Pro's. The mic on them is almost unmatched at this price point. And they're tuned for hearing footsteps, which is exactly what I need when I play a game like Battlefield.
I also have the 1More Quad Driver ear buds. They're freaking amazing and I use them for music and gaming also, so I'm not worried about using the G Pro's for anything other than gaming. So in my opinion, they're almost unmatched at this price as far as competitive shooters go.
At the $150-$200 price point, I believe my 1More Quad Drivers are also unmatched in my opinion. They can also obviously be used in public for music without looking ridiculous, like a huge set of cans might make you look lol. That's my opinion anyways. Have a nice day haha.

The somewhat tight ear cups took some time to get used to, as they make your ears warm, after a week of use I don’t even notice they’re on my head. If you’re worried about the the 1.3m cable, don’t be. An extra longer cable is included that you can attach the 1.3m to. Beware about the logitech headset. I bought mine 10 months ago and the microphone started picking up all audio noises coming from the earcup, even at 20% max volume, so all my discord friends starting to hear themselves. I ran this through logitech support and after 9 days and 13 back and forth emails, they stated that it could not qualify for warranty because my serial number (which is completely hidden inside the earcup, something I never once took off) looks "tampered with," and that is because the serial number is written on wafer thin PAPER and over time that paper dissolves, making the serial number illegible, and voiding the warranty. Stay away from Logitech products, they are designed to fail and designed to void warranties.

G Pro has slightly better Mic when used with Blue Voice enabled in in logitechs software. If you just want plug and play without software I'd go with HyperX. Alpha or Cloud 2 is up to you.

@@Poifix i see, about the clamp force on the gpro though?
anyway am going to leave my review here for any future readers
i've got a gsp 300 i been using for the last 5years now.. and build quality wise... they have held up pretty well.. but i never ever rly dropped em or anything. but otherwise.
the earpads leather pealed off within the first 2 years, revealing yellow sponge inside,
      the headband came off.
the clamp force weakened greatly disturbing overall audio quality and comfort.
also allowing more outside noise to enter due to weakened clamp force and deteriorated earpads,
so noise isolation took a dump. and that sucked balls as after my latest pc upgrade my gpu gets so freaking loud around 3200rpm during heavy loads i might as well shot myself in the head.
comfort wise its not as comfortable anymore with that exposed sponge and earpad rubbing against my head, gives me headaches
and the already distant drivers felt even more distant cuz they were lifted further away from my ears, everything felt far away
the audio is still darn great even after all that though and the headset works without a hitch, using it for music has been a great experience,
for gaming however, though it did get the job done i feel it could've been better.. i feel it wasn't as proficient in detecting footsteps. and what not... maybe it was the soundstage? idk. but hey its sennheiser after all.
if i could i'd buy replacement earpads but they r costly to order online where i live.
about the clamp force though.. best i could do was leave it overnight in the box it came in
it's tad tighter for the first 2 hours i wear it , but. it just gos back to being loose. as usual. well its plastic :c
anyway. when i initially got the headset i noticed how sharp the highs were overall the clarity was great but i felt it was such a treble oriented headset i had to eq it to ''vocal'' mode with my default realtek driver software to soften it up for some music.
at first i just shoved in some cotton into the earpads lmao before i realized i can eq em..
the bass was very lacking but i appreciated the high's so the eq balanced it out prettttttttttty well.
i believe the sennheisers don't come eq'ed out of the box huh? which is why its so clear with almost no bass expect for music with prominent bass focus,
some music do sound noisy and lost/cluttered though. idk probably the poor audio on the music itself. but yeah this headset is not perfect
the mic though was very very nice, i never rly had other stuff to test out. but this mic was astounding for the price point i brought em for back then [90usd] without noise suppression ticked on, it sounded great. the only issue was the hiss.. which i balanced out by reducing input to around 80
and bringing the mic closer manually for those times when i had more chill vc sessions with a free hand.
in time though doing that caused the plastic to crack and it turned into a adjustable mic lmao
the hiss still turns up in recordings though and it kinda earrapes.. never had a problem with discord or what not complaining of ''hiss/static. so fine on there .
just the recordings. never had any echo leak. either.
with noise suppression ticked while it wasn't bad i still preferred without it.. i never actually used noise suppression throughout all these years either.
but ya the hiss is pretty loud without it, since its not a standalone mic to begin with,
the mic IS pretty quiet though. though am soft spoken in general
on a side note. i guess its kind of hilarious that am not using the mic as intended with the noise suppression disabled lmao

Sooo... I have this Cloud Alpha for about 4 months now and I need to say that they do the job very well. You may find some problems with comfort because the pads aren't thicc enough, HyperX noticed that and actually made a pair of improved EarPads, and I gotta say that they are a lot better like this, more comfort and actually better sound somehow. If you found the Cloud Alpha comfortable you should mail HyperX and ask for the pads they made, you can get them for free actually. The mic is ok, not too good, not too bad.
And currently Im using them on my Laptop and everyone knows that the soundcard on Laptops is worse, with a good Soundcard or AMP they should feel amazing.

I had the alpha because my cloud IIs are breaking apart after 3 years of use. The alphas are REALLY good, my only problem with them is that after having them on for 3hours and more, they start to hurt my hears, no matter how i position them. The top part of my ears start to hurt a lot, which i dont have with my cloud IIs. Otherwise cloud alphas are really good for the price.

I had the same problem. I purchased alpha because of great review but after prolonged use, the pressure on my ear irritated me enough for me to look so solution. After much research, I ran into "brainwavz" on Amazon. It cost 23 dollars for after market ear pad. Since the pads are much thicker it dissipates the pressure around my ears and much better fit and comfort. It sucks I had to spend more money on expensive headset to make it even better. But if you are using cloud alpha. I would definitely recommend getting brainwavz ear pad. I purchased red one to compliment the red accent on the alpha.

"minor thing" --- to value the cable length positive or negative is a matter of interpretation i think.... i know many people who still like to have their tower standing on the ground for whatever reason... I can Imagine they would highly appreciate a longer cable... the positive aspect is that you can change the cable to a shorter one when you want to use it underway. But since its a gaming headset I think the primary thing you want to use it for justifies the standard length it comes with.

I tried it, and it's basically impossible to use it during hot wheater, and even using an AC, I was still sweating more than I would've liked. Myself, I use a Philips SHP 9500S, open pack headphone. Pads are huge, made of a material that let you ears breathe, and similar to the ones you would find on an Arctis headset.

I bought the G Pro's as a replacement for my broken headphones about 1.5-2 years ago and they've been super reliable ever since. I took these to campus with me every day, no case or anything, literally just setting them on top of everything in my backpack (sucks they don't fold like my last ones did) and they still work 100% fine. The only damage I've managed to cause to these with my excess abuse is to wear away some of the braiding around the end of the cable that plugs into the headset, and then a mildly bent jack on the end that plugs in to your device (that's what you get when you drop your laptop with your headphones plugged in) but they're still kicking just fine. If anything, I could just get a replacement cable and they'd look and work brand new. I wear them for hours at a time (4+ hours easily) all the time, and I don't notice them. I find them much comfier than the skullcandys they replaced. I think a large part of this comfort comes down to the fact that the ear cups don't touch my ears. Giving a nice, roomy feel that isn't constrictive. The only annoying thing with these that I've found is that the ear cup attachment design, while clever, can be finnicky to put back on around the jacks. Beyond that, the audio quality is excellent, absolutely zero complaints from me there, the style is professional and clean, but not ugly, and the overall fit, finish, and build quality is excellent, as is generally the case with Logitech's hardware. Definitely would recommend these, and have recommended them to my friend(s) irl. For $90 (even cheaper now) it really is a great piece of kit, not just for the money, but as an overall experience.

You'd be surprised. You really don't get much better sound quality until you're in about the $150 range for just headphones vs a gaming headset. Beyond $150, it's generally no contest as a set of dedicated headphones will always win. However, this is also very much depends on what you're using to drive them. If you're using your cell phone, the difference in sound quality between a $300 pair of headphones and an $80 gaming headset won't be as drastic as if you were using a legitimate DAC or headphone amplifier to drive them. Kind of how some sports cars only get their fully rated horsepower with premium fuel as opposed to mid-grade fuel. A stand-alone mic will 99% of the time win however. Even against a V Moda mic. Whether or not you want a built-in microphone is really just going to come down to convenience and how much you care about the sound of your voice.

I feel that the G-Pro is way better, in aesthetics and comfort. The micro is also really good even though it has a slight his compared to the alpha. The problem is the sound signature, I really prefer a flat sound signature that the user can tweak.
You're so much right about RGB by the way, totally useless and it's better like that.

    • @ViralDrive
      @ViralDrive 5 років тому +1

Tarek Jellali I'm with the Cloud Alpha on this one because of its superior comfort and it's amazing sound quality. Isn't sound quality and a clear mic all you need in a gaming headset anyway? The Alpha beats the G-Pro in comfort and sound quality. The mics on both can use a little tweaking, but the mic on the G-Pro, I will admit, is better when it comes to your voice but not canceling out background noises. I don't like the fact that bass comes out of the G-Pro mic from what I heard, it's unesessary. The simple look of the G-Pro is great as well. But the G-Pro is definitely a close competitor to the Alpha. But after all, the Alpha captures me.

I'm just happy that after all these decades, gaming headsets are actually starting to match normal headsets for sound quality, build quality, comfort, modularity, and looks. As a headphone guy with lots of headphones, it is nice to see gaming headphones coming along finally. I have broken a TON of gaming headsets over the years. The semi expensive, but good gaming headset I current own is the Roccat Cross. As a gaming headset it started this trend I feel. Detachable cables, mic, good sound quality, comfort, portability, and build quality. Best thing is that the Roccat Cross is only around $50 and is very comparable to either of these two headsets that cost twice as much. It's main down side is crappier stock earpads. Since the Roccat Cross takes standard earpads setup, buying an HM5 brainwavz, or better yet a less expensive Senitek earpad for a few bucks more to replace makes the Roccat cross + earpad much nicer than either the logitech pro or hyper x cloud alpha and still cheaper.

Thanks for providing both POVs. I'm likely to go with the Logitech as I'd like to record videos and provide a better mic to my customer.

Man I gotta say these two are the two best headsets I've ever used..I honestly cant tell which one I like better..I've put atleast 500 hrs on both..the alphas have a little more punch and rumble but arnt quite as clear as the g- pro..but its soooo close..there both in the high range...also to note..I have a certain pair of headphones that cost more than both of these put together and these both blow the expensive ones away! Also a plus in both of these is the detachable cord..if something happens to the cable they both can be replaced.and eventually it will cause a cable moves around and like anything will break down over time..If your torn on which to buy just do ennie-minny-minnie-moooow and you will end up with a great headset that will last you forever if you care for them..thumbs up in great vid..

I just had to make this decision a few weeks ago after my SteelSeries headset broke ( 5 years old was very happy with them ). So when I was comparing I was deciding between the 3 sets, Logi, SS, and Hyper, of the same price range. And I can agree with you, they are all good headsets and it really comes to personal preferences. Just like the way both fo you have varying opinions, I don't think that anyone would be disappointed with either set.
For me, the Hyper was the best option and I'm very pleased with them.

I have both headsets, personally I prefer the Logitech Headset WAY MORE. The Cloud Alpha's are a bit more bassy, yet they dont cover your ears fully. The logitech g pro is so comfy and the mic and noise is comfy.

I just bought the alphas, i just really wish they had fabric cushions like the cloud II did. I don't like nor trust pleather, it get's sweaty and eventually peel off.
