Anyone who's willing to pay 150 bucks for a headset is insane. Also, it's supposed to be a pro/competitive headset and no one wants a wireless pro headset.
I Just bought the Alpha's and It has a better sound in general... I'm F*cking in love!!! The sound is so crisp and clear that almost has a natural 7.1 emulation!
The pixel 2 uses the USB-C extension lanes, wich means you can use the 4-pin jack with your dongle. Iphones dont support this at all except for headphones with internal DAC and are connected via USB instead of using the audio lanes.
I was thinking about buying these and would you recommend them? I'm just curious into which is there any headphone static? Because my current headphones seem to have a lot of headphone static and I don't really enjoy using them because of that. So overall are they better then the average headset you'd buy for $100?
Probably the only good gaming headset on the market for its price. Hopefully we will see a black and gunmetal grey version as black and red is so tacky and has been done to death.
I just received my GSP 300's and man oh man, what an amazing headset ! I fell in love with it already !! Your review helped me a lot, thank you !! Your content is amazing
coming to this video 3 years later, 3 years after I bought this headset myself, and I must say, they turned to complete trash in every aspect. The mic is buzzing like crazy, when I talk to other people on discord they say that I destroy their ears. The sound quality too has decreased like crazy. When I'm listening to anything it sounds like it's been recorded in the 1920's, not even joking. It's full of crackling noise even when I change the volume from the wheel. Crazy to think that such a good and expensive headset turned into a 1920's device in only 3 years, but I guess they're just not made to last this long.
I and my friend have purchased a pair of headphones on black friday. I have gotten the hyperx cloud stinger for around 40$ and he got the hyperx cloud alpha for 70$. They both sound amazing and are totally worth the price.
Thank you for a great review! I am going to purchase this headset soon. You deserve to have more subscribers and keep up the great work you do on your channel!
Watched this video with Alphas :) Best headphones i have ever got, they're rly amazing after using no-name headphones which costs 10$ XD. Any it worth to buy, it is rly best headphones.
3 years and still kicking it! Still using my Cloud 1's, I gotta hand it to HyperX for the reliability. Probably won't buy a gaming headset until these stop working :) One thing to note for the Cloud 1's, the material along the top part of the headset began to peel (the side that came in contact with the top of my head, no biggie), also the material of the cushion leathery cups start to peel as well, I eventually switched the cups to the softer ones that seem like they won't peel.
I have an older HyperX Cloud Pro Gaming headset, which is the best headset I've ever owned in their quality and comfort. And that is what I was wanting you to talk about. How comfortable are these headsets? How different is this fit of the ear cups compared to the older versions? I will wear a headset for hours every day, so comfort is the #1 issue for me.
I bought the Core headphones last year and they were good headphones. Purchased these headphones immediately after I saw your review and they're so good! My GameStop is small and they only had one pair left. Best purchase I've made in a while. Thanks for the review!
I returned the Alpha Cloud to Amazon last week, because my ears started hurting an hour into wearing it. I could immediately tell the difference when I put them on my head that the ear cups were not the same texture and design as the original HyperX Cloud, which I own. And I'm not the only who one has complained about the ear pain of the Alpha Cloud.
Bought these today on Amazon based on your excitement for these upgrading from cloud core hyper X impresses me love your videos. You are my go to for headsets reviews.
I play on PS4 and was hesitant to buy but went and ahead and let me say ... these are amazing! Sound is incredible and they are super comfortable! Mic quality is great even when plugged into the controller. Great headset, thanks for the review!

Ernesto Castellanos Yeah Hyperx sounds "dry" to me. Sennheiser Game one are open back headphones and that will give you great perception of space, better imaging, much clearer sound with less bass response and no noise cancelling. I'm using Fidelio X2 as my main gaming headphones. They are open-back and i can tell you from my personal experience that I will never gonna use closed back headphones for gaming anymore!
These headsets are amazing. I just purchased them and I'm never disappointed with your review. This sound is exactly what I was looking for in sound and they pair well with the Astro TR Mixamp.

GSP 300 for the mic. Sound quality is pretty close, HyperX has a little more bass. Alhas more comfortable for a big head`s. Overall very close headset`s, gsp 300 for me.
I tested them from a friend and i can say they are comfy but they do not sound as good as my cloud revolver and the alphas are better than my revolver (on paper), plus they suck at low bass (10 20 30 hz)
I plan to purchase a mic for my xbox one to specifically play COD WWll. Would you recommend the Alpha’s over the Cloud 2’s? In other words, do these provide enough awareness where I will be capable of identifying enemies from any direction or will I need the 7.1 from the cloud 2’s for this?

+Andres Preza I give the GSP300 the advantage with the mic but I like the sound from the Alphas. Now if you prefer a flatter sound signature I would say stick with the Sennheiser
I have the hyper x alpha cloud. I only play CS-go. Can’t compare them to anything since this is my first pc. But I like them. They did hurt at first. Now that I broke them in, I can wear them fine for hours. I do not have a sound card. I highly recommend them for CS-go. My set up: -8700k cpu overclocked to 4.8 w/1.25 core volt (not delidded) -EK-MLC Phoenix 280mm AIO w/cpu block (highest temps on 1 hr stress test 71 C. Total cost for everything: $3,666 My entire Pc build is dedicated for CS-go. I highly recommend the XL2546 monitor. It is amazing. People constantly ask me how I’m so good if I just started playing competitive mode on CS-go. I honestly think it is my setup.
What about that Viritual 7.1 surround? I have the Cloud ii's and my controller has an ON/OFF button for that, now ive been reading on HyperX's own specs at their product page, and it doesent say anything about 7.1. I play alot of Siege and PUBG and if this dont offer 7.1 im more than happy to keep my Cloud ii.
That one is the best headset, the only downside might be the mic thwt is just decent and the fact that its spring are pretty bad and the headphones will fall on your neck, and it doesnt fit "small heads"
From the Sound Quality... Between Cloud Alpha, Superlux HD668B, Samson SR850, CM MH751 Which one is better for gaming? I don't really care about the price and the closed back or open back things.
Nice video! Would you recommend the Hyperx Cloud Alpha or Steelseries Arctis 5? I’m looking for a wired gaming headset that I can use with PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.
$100 is still on the lower end price for a gaming headset which is sad when you have trash $300-350 Astros and turtle beach pro when you can get a MUCH BETTER HEADPHONE like the dt990s and fidelio x2 etc for $150-200 and they have amazing drivers with open back design and are not just marked up $40 headphones with a mic because they call them "gaming" however I do have the cloud 2 which I used to use 3 years ago before I got my x2 and hd 650s and they weren't as big of a rip off as Astros and many other headsets that have trash Mics anyways. Run on sentence idgaf but that's my 2 cents from experience of owning over 10 headsets and now 4 true music headphones from $150-$350 and the drivers I find are higher quality if you compare similar price of headphones to a headset. Love the reviews
Steven K Astros are fucking trash, I had them for 2 days and took them back. The audio is so bad you can't hear people in games for shit, and you can't adjust the voice chat without adjusting the game audio at the same time. My audiotechnica ath700's shit on Astros. They are $200, but I got them on sale for $100, and I can hear a fly fucking across the map.
Doubt you will see this or even reply since this video is 4 years old,but I have the hyperx stinger and wondering if these are thoroughly better because I was really quite impressed with the stinger and won't really consider upgrading unless these are significantly better.
The Revolver sounds like shit compared to even the Cloud 1. of course it is usable if youre not an audiophile, but the alpha even competes with normal headphones that mostly need an amp. The alpha has a low impedance, wich means you can power it with a simple DAC if you really want to. I recommend looking for a cheap DAC on massdrop or at least getting a sound card with them since you will be losing out on a lot of the quality when using them with your motherboard/xbox one. For the PS4, there is sadly no option for an external DAC as far as I know.
Nice video, the bass and response looks like a better sounding headset . But how is the cloud 2's 7.1 surround sound compared to the alpha which doesn't have any surround. Which would you prefer? I was thinking between the cloud 2 or alpha. Does the revolver s surround word with Xbox, and how does the sound compared to the alpha?
+waiehu27 the Alpha is the best out of all 3 of these. The Revolver are my least favorite and the Cloud II surround sound is not giving you any better advantages over the Alpha
I'd go with this. Better build/comfort and sound quality. Unless you need that virtualized 7.1 surround. Chances are, your motherboards sound card has that option available, anyways.
Ghost HD kraken has improved a lot in sound and build quality.Run away from hyperx fanboys and search reasonable comparison.Or buy one,and if u dont like it,return it
i borrowed the cloud core from a friend and they don t really seem comfortable...is the alpha like them? I see the alpha has a different sewing on the "leather" earcups. I own a siberia 100 (which broke) and those were damn comfortable...like not even existing on my head. tried also siberia 200, after 2-3 hours your ears hurt badly. any recommendations?> i might have a problem with oval pads
Even though I'm not in the market for a gaming headset, out of curiosity, would you say these are better than the more expensive Astro Gaming headsets? Sound wise and such? And also, props to Kingston for making a sleek looking headset with a nice durable build.
Gamesky, I see that you have been saying that these Alphas out perform the original Clouds (Core and II's) concerning sound, but can you tell me how? Is treble more sparkly? are the mids clear? is bass deeper? I have the clouds and cant imagine how these could sound better. Maybe just different? Thanks!
Can you notice the increase in bass between these and the cloud II's? If it has better quality sound then I might have to upgrade from my old ones. Because the cloud II's already have amazing sound.
I was about to buy the Cloud 2s but I was like “mmmh there has to be a better version” and did my research and thansk to you I guess I’m getting these !!
I've had 3 cloud 2's. 2 I bought, and 1 was a replacement. (as it was under the 1 year warranty period.) As good as they sound and as comfortable as they are, if they don't last I'm not going to be buying that product again. The first pair I had I wasn't as careful with them and they lasted just under a year, I didn't have a receipt so understandingly they wouldn't honor the warranty. Bought the second pair, but this time I made sure to save the receipt just in case if I had issues with them again. Sure enough it lasted about 8 months. I went through the warranty process which was a breeze as they even paid for the shipping to and back for a new pair. The third one lasted just over a year. So the issue I had is that the wires they use in the cloud 2's aren't very durable. They are too thin. What i think is that the twisting and bending of the wire when taking off and putting it on your head, causes the wire to twist/bend and eventually break, so one of the speakers won't work... They clearly know about this issue, as I think this is the reason why they are making the usb wire a "plug in" just like the mic. If you look at the reviews of the cloud 2's a lot of people have had this issue.
I have had a pair of these for about 2 years and they are great. The detail and accuracy is amazing, for the rec retail price. I use them a lot to watch action movies and I love them. When they wear out (no sign of that yet) Ill probably buy another HX set of whatever is their best at the time. They are great for music too. Im not a gamer, but these phones leave "audiophile"headpones at the same price point dead in the water in my opinion.
I'm thinking of getting these but I'm worried that the DS4 controller won't get them loud enough. The Cloud PS4 edition is also an option but I hear it's not as comfortable and doesn't sound as good.
There is no need to worry. The sound can get really loud, sometimes too loud. But I also think it depends on what game you are playing, for instance, I play apex with full sound on, but when I switch to Warzone it's hella loud.
Make it wireless, charge 150$ for it and I'll throw my money with my eye closed
+ahmed nader I second this

Azhar Ansari Depends if your a PC gamer or console. Majority of those headsets are very washed in low bass for consoles but work well for PC.
+Andres Preza I give the GSP300 the advantage with the mic but I like the sound from the Alphas. Now if you prefer a flatter sound signature I would say stick with the Sennheiser
Gamesky Thanks. I think I'll pick up the GSP300.
John Esgarth no problem, you won't regret it
I have the hyper x alpha cloud. I only play CS-go. Can’t compare them to anything since this is my first pc. But I like them.
They did hurt at first. Now that I broke them in, I can wear them fine for hours. I do not have a sound card.
I highly recommend them for CS-go.
My set up:
-8700k cpu overclocked to 4.8 w/1.25 core volt (not delidded)
-EK-MLC Phoenix 280mm AIO w/cpu block (highest temps on 1 hr stress test 71 C. Idle at 31-33 C)
-1080ti ftw3 hybrid (AIO w/fan on gpu)
-G.skill z trident 16gb (2x8) 14-14-14-34 ram
-960 pro 512gb m.2
-Seagate firecuda 2 Tb sshd
-Evga 850w p2 psu
-Phanteks Enthoo Pro m se
Peripherals
-zowie Ben q xL2546 (240hz/1080p/DyAc) monitor
-hyper x alpha cloud headset
- zowie Ben q ec2-B mouse (I also have Logitech g502 and it works just fine but I prefer the ec2-B)
-ZOWIE BENQ CAMADE (BUNGEE)
- Redragon K552 KUMARA LED Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (only reason I have this is because I had it already from when I tried to keyboard mouse on Xbox one w/XIM4 device)
- zowie Ben q GS-R Large mouse pad.
Total cost for everything: $3,666
My entire Pc build is dedicated for CS-go. I highly recommend the XL2546 monitor. It is amazing. People constantly ask me how I’m so good if I just started playing competitive mode on CS-go. I honestly think it is my setup.
the clouds in the past had major issues with low sound on the consoles, did they fix that with these or is it the same?
+xDjayMox these are much louder
thanks for the reply.
Gamesky you sure?
Thechosenone the cloud ii comes with an amplifier
I think stingers sound best on console, everything else can't get loud enough
What about that Viritual 7.1 surround? I have the Cloud ii's and my controller has an ON/OFF button for that, now ive been reading on HyperX's own specs at their product page, and it doesent say anything about 7.1. I play alot of Siege and PUBG and if this dont offer 7.1 im more than happy to keep my Cloud ii.
Do an boxing of the Cloud Revolver!
That one is the best headset, the only downside might be the mic thwt is just decent and the fact that its spring are pretty bad and the headphones will fall on your neck, and it doesnt fit "small heads"
I'm looking to buy a headset not sure which one. Hyperx cloud alpha, hyperx revolver or razer thresher? I play a lot of battlefield.
hyperx Alpha. Vs Turtlebeach Elite Atlas. Strictly gaming gun to your head.
Love the vid. And congrats for 15k
Thanks for your review, better than my astro(disappointing for 250$)
Hahahaha astro A40 TR destroys all of the hyperx's
PSXB GAMER are the a40’s good quality and good mic? Thinking of buying them.
From the Sound Quality... Between Cloud Alpha, Superlux HD668B, Samson SR850, CM MH751 Which one is better for gaming? I don't really care about the price and the closed back or open back things.
Bro love ur videos keep up ur good work one day u will be get 1million subscribers lots of love from india
Aayushman Verma thanks so much, I appreciate that
T-series sux
I'm using a Sennheiser HD 598 SR and I love it. How good is this headset compared to the Sennheiser ?
+Andy Lam not as spacious sounding as the 598 but these have better punch
*pretty much last forever* How i wish mine Didnt break after 10 mouths
How did they break, just so I don't mane the same mistake. Haha
Nice video! Would you recommend the Hyperx Cloud Alpha or Steelseries Arctis 5? I’m looking for a wired gaming headset that I can use with PlayStation, Xbox and Switch.
Will this work with the Astro Mixamp because thats what Im going to use this headset with?
Yes they work with a mixamp I used my Hyperx cloud 2s with a mixamp
Jose Prieto thanks.
Yes
Yup.
They work great. Just plug them in and you’re good. I’m using cloud 2s with the mixamp tr on PS4.
does you're sound card affect mic quality? my mic doesnt sound as good as the reviews on it
Silo he didn’t plus in the cable that goes into the headset all the way. That’s why it sound weird
Love the reviews
ugh, dt990s literally sound like someone shit in the driver chamber. horrible horrible sound
Even Cloud 2 is far better xD
Christoffer Toft Persson everyone has different ears, but ya I agree. Didn't like the 990. Love the 1990 tho :D
Steven k do you use your x2s on console with an amp or no?
Doubt you will see this or even reply since this video is 4 years old,but I have the hyperx stinger and wondering if these are thoroughly better because I was really quite impressed with the stinger and won't really consider upgrading unless these are significantly better.
Can you use them with your phone?
Reimosk yup
yes
not for 7 and newer iphones if no adapter lol :(
raasyidgamma you should have the adapter if you have the phones that require it O_o
Is there a volume issue when there plugged into the ps4 controller? Some reviews mention this in there reviews. Thanks for answering my questions.
One year later and I have the same question. Did you buy the hyperx cloud alpha? Are they good for PS4? Loud enough?
4:40 And anytime you throw it
Should i consider getting rid of my HyperX Cloud II for the cloud Alpha or not realy worth it?
>be me
>buy cloud 2
>go back to shop
>cloud Alfa comes in the shop
>mfw
I bought a cloud 2 like 2-3 weeks ago then found out about the cloud alpha
Fuck me.
This or hyperx cloud revolver s?
+or peretz I would go with these. Better sound and much more comfortable
or peretz this
The Revolver sounds like shit compared to even the Cloud 1. of course it is usable if youre not an audiophile, but the alpha even competes with normal headphones that mostly need an amp.
I am debating between the Revolver S or the Alpha. So which is better overall?
Jonathan Bourne So which did you get. Would suggest these.
I need a quick answer. Without comparing the price, what headset is better in your opinion, these cloud alphas, or the TB elite pro???
+zaybaby021 Alphas
Subbed... U deserve it ...thanks
Whats the difference between these and the Cloud II 's ? All i see is these dont have the 7.1 surround sound
This or hyperx cloud 2
Kyle Cheng this
Why?
Infected Nobody these have better sound
Can't give a review of these but I purchased cloud 2s for 30 bucks less a couple weeks ago. They are fantastic. I hope these are better! :)
thanks Gamesky
Nice video, the bass and response looks like a better sounding headset . But how is the cloud 2's 7.1 surround sound compared to the alpha which doesn't have any surround. Which would you prefer? I was thinking between the cloud 2 or alpha. Does the revolver s surround word with Xbox, and how does the sound compared to the alpha?
+waiehu27 the Alpha is the best out of all 3 of these. The Revolver are my least favorite and the Cloud II surround sound is not giving you any better advantages over the Alpha
This or kraken 7.1 v2
I'd go with this. Better build/comfort and sound quality. Unless you need that virtualized 7.1 surround. Chances are, your motherboards sound card has that option available, anyways.
+Ghost HD this
This. 100%.
Ghost HD kraken has improved a lot in sound and build quality.Run away from hyperx fanboys and search reasonable comparison.Or buy one,and if u dont like it,return it
Sean Sinha v2
i borrowed the cloud core from a friend and they don t really seem comfortable...is the alpha like them? I see the alpha has a different sewing on the "leather" earcups.
I own a siberia 100 (which broke) and those were damn comfortable...like not even existing on my head. tried also siberia 200, after 2-3 hours your ears hurt badly. any recommendations?> i might have a problem with oval pads
Gamesky Do You Like Your Own Comment?? 😂😂😂
+Fahed Alvi I've never done that
Even though I'm not in the market for a gaming headset, out of curiosity, would you say these are better than the more expensive Astro Gaming headsets? Sound wise and such? And also, props to Kingston for making a sleek looking headset with a nice durable build.
A Hyperx 7.1 usb sound card is good for the Hyperx alpha? Or nah
No, I don't use the one that came out with my cloud 2s
I always put mine away in the bag with everything detached but I'm worried that the wire will get messed up so I wanted to know if this is ok or not
I had these for 2 years so this year I decided to upgrade to something newer. Cloud Mix. Got it for 130 dollars new. Good deal?
Did you have ear pain with the alpha?
Dont your ears get hot with this ? I am using the Cloud II and i am curious about buying the alpha, any opinions?
Gamesky, I see that you have been saying that these Alphas out perform the original Clouds (Core and II's) concerning sound, but can you tell me how? Is treble more sparkly? are the mids clear? is bass deeper? I have the clouds and cant imagine how these could sound better. Maybe just different? Thanks!
So which one is better for FPS games? Cloud alpha or Cloud 2?
cloud 2 have 7.1 surround sound and cloud alpha doesnt
Can you notice the increase in bass between these and the cloud II's? If it has better quality sound then I might have to upgrade from my old ones. Because the cloud II's already have amazing sound.
I was about to buy the Cloud 2s but I was like “mmmh there has to be a better version” and did my research and thansk to you I guess I’m getting these !!
this isnt worth it , stick with the cloud 2
I bought some recently from a nearby store, but it came in white packaging. is that normal?
HyperX Cloud 2, Revolver S, or Alpha?
Looking for a new headset and DONT care about price just want the best possible headset
Hands down it’s the Alpha
If you dont care about price i would say sennheiser game one or astro a 50
