Here I am. The guy who bought the Razer Kraken V3 Hypersense after the recommendation in this video. Oh and how am I disappointed. The vibration is no real vibration. It's more like a micro-subwoofer which annoyingly activates itself even when listening to music, when people are talking in voice-clients. After -hours- in detailing the equalizer, I couldn't help myself but getting this quality-less piece of junk back in it's packaging, send it back to the re-seller and get my money back as well. Now I remember why I haven't bought recommended products. It's about taste and everyone has a different one.
This is such a great and thorough review! Thanks for also including the mic audio so we can hear how it sounds :D Has made it easier for me to decide which headset to look into further. Thank you
For anyone curious about the Logitech g pro x (wired), the way the size adjustment clasps are designed are cheap. Mine started cracking within 3 months of use (back in the middle of 2020). My headset finally broke today and I couldn’t hear any audio ( even with all the trouble shoot methods such as firmware, internal Pc / in game settings, and redownloading the app). I will say I take pretty good care of my stuff and I don’t bang my gear around. The quality of performance is phenomenal (blue mic/ surround sound and side tones) but build quality is a pass ( it happened to 3 friends of mine with the same wired model as well) *edit* I am thinking of coping the EPOS H6 pro, but still trying to decide on other options. Great content as always I love the thorough review on all categories !! Thank you **update** Ended up getting the Corsair HS 80 rgb instead , due to it being on sale at a local Best Buy (20Dec2021) had it for a few days now
@@brfootyballl8070 tbh at that price point you have a few options, also depending on your intentions with the headset (like for example if you use an external mic such as a blue yeti for streaming or you just want good old comfort and sound with a decent mic) I love my Corsair HS80 everything is fantastic about it so far ( mic quality is phenomenal for a wireless headset) only gripe I have on this headset is the side tone functionality is kinda quiet and you can’t really bend the mic ( I like to hear if I am speaking to loud or not) But some other suggestions I would have are Any of the steel series line HyperX cloud (was 70 now it’s 49.99 at Best Buy. I don’t know how long that sale is going to last) Corsair void elite rgb wireless (it’s a step down from HS 80 but cheaper and great value for your money usually around 65$) Friend of mine has a Razer Kraken V3 Hypersense (wired) and I love it especially for the haptic feedback but it’s around a 129.99 price point (maybe some stores will have holiday sales Logitech g435 light speed is comfy compact, nice color ways and decent sound and mic. I’ve seen it for as low as $59. If you aren’t too picky on going mid tier or high tier then these are a nice low tier get the job done headset. Plus it’s blue tooth wireless Astro A40 TR (wired) are fantastic especially with the mix amp with it (great competitive and high quality headset) that was actually one of my headsets I owned for a long time after I made the switch from turtle beaches. I owned an older model from 2013 I believe and they still work til this day. I do not use them anymore because I gave my former PC rig and those astro to my brother last year just so he can game on the computer. Def recommend this one (plus you can do custom ear cups and face plates to personalize) Tbh these are some that come to mind as of recently , also with your preferences and comfort play a big factor with how you might want to choose your preference. (Are you a streamer/content creator (using external usb mics or want a high quality headset mic), casual/competitive gaming, audiophile, wireless vs wired (or want both))etc…
I've spent a small fortune on junk headsets, so I really appreciate your honest reviews. I recently made a purchase of the Epos H6 open, from one of your previous reviews through one of your channel links and truly don't regret the decision at all. It's been a great headset so far.
I am currently using the Audeze Mobius headset for PC, and to me they are really comfortable. Best sounding and most comfortable headset I've had so far, coming from using Turtle Beach, Astro, Razer and Steelseries headsets.
Same got the Orbit S and while on the first day it wasn't great after a day or two it stretched and became the most comfortable headset I've owned so far.
it was abit uncomfortable for me at the start but after awhile they really break in and conform to ur headshape... I feel that is true for all headphones eventually.
Would love to see you review the new epos H3Pro hybrid. You’re comparisons to other headsets, mic sampling and understanding of spatial and directional sound for FPS is very helpful.
I got a pair of audezes and I wore them for nearly an entire day for a couple of flights from london to san jose, including a 7 hour layover in LAX, not one problem with the comfort. My only complaint with them is the delicacy of the drivers, which can lead to some audible crinkling if you're not careful with them.
Have you updated the latest driver? Because it massively improves the low level crinkling. I’ve gotta say my pair of Audezes are one of my favourite purchases ever. To be fair I wouldn’t say they’re the most comfortable headset, the wireless range isn’t great. But in terms of sound quality it’s all worth it. Rival a pair of audiophile headphones for listening to music, great Bluetooth functionality and compared to my friends who are playing with Artic pro wired and Astros I can hear so much more and regularly calling out to them
@@ironicness I think he meant the physical driver inside the cup not software, it can get damaged really easily if you happen to throw it in your backpack without any protective case.
The Corsair HS80 have a recent yet serious firmware bug that limits the mic gain to something like 10%. Corsair is aware and working on it, but no solution yet. Problem has existed for several weeks so I would steer clear of these if you are interested in using the microphone.
@@BlackDragon20893 I can't answer you the first question, I think my pair has a mic that is a bit quiet, I filter it through Voicemeeter with additional +5db gain. My firmware is the latest one. The second question: I took a mixed usage test, I used them like I normally use my headsets, so some video watching, some gaming and a lot of Teamspeak. I achieved 22 hours with the lights off (I don't bother with shitty RGB stuff). I assume worst case without RGB would be something like 15 hours.
Bought the HS80 3 months ago, very comfortable, fairly decent battery for almost 9am to 10pm usage (with some breaks) microphone is great. BUT: 1) lots of software to install for a headset 2) requires premium purchase of software to gain full use 3) The led on mic wont turn off (red to indicate mute, but app lets you hide light when muted instead. This never worked) 4) After 3 months the right-side speaker stopped so I brought it back for a refund 5) Not good support from Corsair
Bought the HS80 because of the microphone and it's fantastic! Very happy with the purchase. Also, having fun switching between Game/Movie/Music profiles in the Dolby Atmos app - it really does make a difference! Oh, and if you're in Windows 11 you'll notice that the Apply button in the Atmos app is gone - the change is applied automatically and instantly (no stutter) because of the new sound API.
@@MacLarenT1337 Did you already get it? I got it today and i am in love with it! I dont know about the battery life yet, but the audio when tweaking a little bit in the EQ and the mic quality is sooo good!
I just bought a Sennheiser HD650 and the modmic wireless las month because I needed an open back headset, the Epos G6 Pro would have probably solved my problem for a lot less money... The quality on the HD650 is pretty amazing though.
Enjoy the value of that high quality sound! I run my HD650 with a ModMic 5 and it's been great since moving away from gaming headset marketing years ago.
I have both the EPOS H6 Pro and believe me you would have missed the Music-Quality of your HD650 a lot. The open version of the Epos really falls apart when you turn up the volume, while the closed one is very isolating and compared to a good open Sennheiser a bit muffled and gets very bassy when you turn the volume up.
I sold my HD660S, was marginal difference between them and the PC38X for the money, I'm now on the corsair HS80 and loving them compared to everything prior
@@b1gd312 I cannot understand this praise for the PC38X myself. I had them but sold them because I didn't find them even close to Sennheiser HD 650 or now a Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X
I loved the Audeze Mobius headphones. That was until someone I knew had a pair that broke. When I looked at mine there were stress cracks on the hinge. Theirs broke at least 3 or 4 times in the last couple of years they've been using them. Just a warning to anyone interested. And yes, I can also agree they are not super comfortable. I recently got a pair of Sennheiser headphones and they are extremely comfortable.
2 роки тому+1
same hyperx orbit 2 year use and a cheap plastick broke
Cracking plastic is the bane of cheap to midrange headphones it seems. I've been using a pair of Plantronics GameCom 788 for probably five years now. Within a week I saw that they had developed a crack there the left earcup attaches. I was a bit miffed but decided to see how long it would hold together. Now many ears later the crack is still there, though I haven't really looked at it in the last few years. I've had exactly one problem with these, it was the microphone that stopped working. Opening up the earcup I found it was a bas solder joint. Every other solder joint looked perfect, but one of the leads for the mic was some of the worst excuse for a solder joint I have ever seen. Fixing that was a few seconds using a cheap solder iron. I'm not swapping these headphones before I can no longer keep them working. As they predate Win10 by quite a lot and they are USB devices that need a driver to enable the nicer features I initially had some trouble getting them to work with Win10. I'm not looking forward to getting everything working on Win11, but that's for another day.
wow yes there seems to be q&c issues with them. A guy I game with got them, loved them, they lasted less than a year. They have been replaced under warranty but are clearly prone to breaking. For £350-400 they aren't built well at all.
My Audeze Penrose died last week while charging after 1 year. What a waste the most expensive gaming headset i ever buy. At least my 2 years old arctic 1 wireless is still working perfectly.
@@blahorgaslisk7763 Damn, first time I've found someone in the wild with a 788. Mine broke yesterday after 8 years of use (dropped it on the floor, left ear almost snapped off completely). Getting it to work in win10 should've been relatively easy, and I suspect should also work in win11, but I haven't tried it yet. Looking for a new headset now.. but I'm sure gonna miss the surround sound.
After over 3,5 years of usage I still have the Steelseries Pro Wireless. The HUB is amazing for changing settings on the fly and I absolutely love the battery packs!! It take 5-20 seconds to change it and BAM you can go for another 20 hours. Comfort is also great with that sexy ski-band.
Danm kinda impressive. ty for you input. What is your previous headphones? I have been with Hyper x cloud 2 for like 5 years they get broken like after 1 or 2 years. Bought 2 of them already. So making motivated to buy Steel series. Is it better than logitech pro x wireless?
I keep trying to get away from the PC38X in order to go wireless but I just can’t! The comfort and sound are both AMAZING and everything else is just worse to me lol. I’ve tried SO many wireless headsets but I always come back to the 38X. Great video as always sir!
Try the HS80, I've also got the 38X and prefer the Corsair for my wireless option, HS80 hands down beats higher end wireless headsets for comfort, sound, build and mic
@@Courtesyflush52 decent sidetone sorts that, which the HS80 has, the earpads don't seal the sound like leather ones do, you can hear some of the ambient room noise to a degree
I was actually going to get the M&D headset, but I saw that you were reviewing them! For sure, everyone could be begging me to rather get a Dac AMP setup, but I rather in my opinion use wireless, I found it more practical. Other than that, excellent review! This will definitely help me! Edit: I'm buying something cheaper, while I'm don't an audiophile there's definitively something better for me. Edit 2: Finally did my choice, thank you for your help guys!
Those were 25% off on BF. I thought about getting them too but I opted for a wired set instead. Probably not worth it at full price but if you can get it closer to $300 they would be a good buy.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on Beyerdynamic DT 797 PV. I've used them daily for a couple of months now and I never want to look at a gaming headset ever again. Sure they have some downsides, like a non removable cable, their pice tag or that they require a headphone amp and an audio interface with phantom power but comfort and sound are just excellent.
I've been using DT770s with a Zen dac which really helped improve the bass which was a little lacklustre. Although they're technically meant for monitoring in a studio the Zen Dac really helps with everything overall. I ended up changing the ear pads with sheepskin/foam ones and they're infinitely more comfortable now. It sucks I had to do extra stuff but I love these ones even after 5 years of heavy use.
I have tygr 300r and its an amazing headset that doesn't require a amp (only 32 ohm). A friend has 990s 250 ohm with an amplifier and the tygr sounds almost as great. For only 150 bucks its a steal and I heard that the new mmx100 and mmx150 are great budget options.
@@misterscienceguy Try a pair of Beyer MMX 300 V2 - they are the same as DT770 with a build-in-mic and you can remove and replace the cable if you want to
Thanks for this Dimitry. Due to your review videos of peripherals I bought my mouse and keyboard you have previously recommended. I'm contented and happy. Keep this up bro.
good to see a high-end set of cans.... would love to see Dmitry's opinion of the Audeze LCD-GX and some Studio grade cans like the Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro and MMX series, both Open and Closed type headsets. i currently have a set of DT 1770 Pro with the Velour cushions and they are incredible for gaming. my mic is a Blue Yeti X WoW Edition. The DT1770 are also used for studio use and DJ work. i do have other headsets like the AiAiAi TMA 2, Sony WH-1000XM4 and Sennheiser HD25 but found them uncomfortable after a while when gaming. ivé had gaming-centric headsets before (logi and Razer) and they were awful, so i went down the high end path to what i am using now. separate dedicated Headphones and Microphone. i do hope Dmitry reviews the Audeze GX as i would like to get a good pair of ópen' style headphones...
I feel bad for your ears. Gx is okay. I hate Beyer now. They have wonky treble. Anandas are my go to reccomendation. The recent price drop makes them even more a good recommendation. I love mine
My Arctis 1 Wireless is still going strong. The compatibility and battery life are great. I'd be really tempted to get the PC38x if I didn't have it since I want an open backed pair, but the built-in mic monitoring of the Arctis does a decent job making up for that.
I have the arctis 1 wireless too and I love it but their new steelseries GG app is dogshit, worse than Logitech GHUB. I managed to rollback to steelseries engine and blocked the auto-update but as soon as they will force me to switch to GG, I'm definitely going to switch headset.
I just bursted out laughing, after doing a double take, for the "as you uninstall battlefield." part. I love being reminded that you are human and a gamer :D
Thoughts on the Steelseries Arctis 7+? They're listed for 30h of battery life too and finally made the jump to USB-C charging and have excellent wireless range. I'm personally loving them and their upgrade to Steelseries Sonar allows swapping to a dedicated mic even more seemless.
Got the Steelseries Nova 7 for PC and I have to say, what a downgrade from the original Arctis 7 I had. The mic isn't as sensitive so I constantly cut out, you cant use the chat-mix slider without their annoying Sonar program. Just looked at the 7+ and I might just get those. I cannot enjoy games without the game/chat mix slider
I have no regrets on buying the PC38x on my birthday. I had my sister in law order it for me in the US then shipped it here in my country. Takes a while to get used to but man, it sounds so great
I currently use the Drop Sennheisser PC38X but I think you're missing some factors in your review methodology. While not a bad headset I wear it for several hours per day - About 6 months of use so far. However it's not as comfortable as you describe, you're wrong - I have an average sized head and ears but yet it has a clamping force higher than desirable and your ears do touch some parts which can be irritating after an hour of prolonged use. I think your Hardware Canucks review style and production values are high but you need to use more individuals in the testing process otherwise what's comfortable to one person isn't for the other and this can provide an incorrect opinion of the comfort. I'm continually on the search for a headset that offers 1) comfort, 2) sound quality and 3) microphone quality but most vendors struggle to provide something wired/wireless with all three factors considered.
Personally having owned several high and mid tier headphones, the mid category is doing so well, it just doesn't justify the price of the higher end headsets
its 2021 and HardwareCanucks has never mentioned the MMX 300 2. Gen ever? Maybe now that they updated the line with the MMX 100 and 150 you guys could do a roundup? They're quality products made to last, I think your viewers would appreciate it, especially since you delved deeper into higher fidelity audio on many occasions
My personal best priced headset that works beautifully is the Turtle Beach Recon 50 headset. I've been using it for almost 2 years now and it still works beautifully. Great sound quality, great design, great microphone, and all around a great, but cheap headset. 8.5/10
Been gaming since growing up, changing to a wireless headset really upgraded the experience, bought the Steelseries Arctis 7 Wireless just couple days ago & did not disappoint!!!
ye they are not bad, but you fked up because they are dated and something like corsair's option would be better, since it has better freq range in mic and drivers. maybe even clouds are not bad either 30h is amazing. with acrtis you will see eventually a decress with time lets say a year in battery life time. also ears start to hurt after 3-4h of use
@@klemenkovacic9109 What really made me like the Arctis 7 is the way that you hide the mic, it just pops right into the small chamber & minimizes the feel.
bro this review was such great, you explained each headset money value and sound quality and the microphone, and you put price tags too earned a sub definitely best reviewer in my opinion srry about my broken english haha
The Razer Kraken headsets shown in the video are Razer Kraken V3 Hypersense and they Retail for $130. Razer Kraken V3 Pro are wireless and retail for $200. Can HC fix such basic mistakes?
When looking through a bunch of YT videos about headsets, this is the most helpful, entertaining and all round high quality video I have seen. Amazing work!
great video.. the only thing i'd say is that the Astro A50's are still my go to. i feel they have the best sound and mic combo of all listed. just my opinion.
I usually don't watch any of your videos, but I regularly come here once a year to check up on headphones, and am always very happy with the quality of the video :D
Great vid Dimitri! My PC 37X ar estill rocking strong. Pretty sure I bought them from one of these tech channels recommendations back in 2018. Anyways, Happy Holidays and best wishes in the new year :)
Really undecided on what pair to get.. the HS80 seems to get praised for it's audio quality, but the battery life it's "just" 20 hours and the mic it's not detachable (which I would like in my case, because I run a external mic altough you can "hide" the mic) but then the Cloud 2 Wireless have an amazing battery life, look to be very confortable and the audio looks decent enough (as far I can analyze from the feedback or maybe i'm not looking at it very well? I just need something that has a good performance on games and listen to music on the PC with a good quality while keeping the wireless factor, is it that hard? xD
hey i know it’s been a while but i’m kinda in the same boat as you, i have my own mic so i want something with a detachable mic that still has good sound quality for gaming and music, what has worked for you?
@@orionpowles I ended up buying the Audeze Penrose. They are incredible. After half year of ownership, would buy them again for sure. My one complain is the battery life, it's not bad but it's not amazing. I blame it on the drivers, they are pretty powerful, so that may be the problem? I use a fifine mic on my desk and the combination works very well.
I had the Razer Kraken V1 for i think 3 years now, they were pretty good for the price back then. Im probably gonna get the Razer Kraken v3 pro or hypersense now, (Pro= hypersense but wireless) or a logitech headset.
When I tell you the LucidSound LS35X are the most comfortable, best game sound (crisp, loud, good bass), and the mic and party/game volume settings were phenomenal…. The only thing that really disheartened me and ruined them was that after a couple months, the sound started cutting out multiple times during a gaming session, starting being a cut per every couple seconds. And the rotating cuffs ended up cracking after a year of casual and careful use. They also had short range while stepping away from the room w/ the xbox. I wish the brand would fix those issues because they could EASILY dominate the wireless xbox headset market with them since they’re $140 and a dream in terms of sound, mic, feature quality until the cutting out starts.
I don't wanna buy a headset right now, but I saw your video and I know how much effort you put into these and I watched some of your older videos (just like this one) so I came here to Like and Comment for the UA-cam algorithm.
I bought the hyperx cloud 2 wireless like a month ago and those are awful tbh. I found a lot of issues and details that were really annoying. However, at the end the usb stopped working and I had to return them to the store. I don't know if I was just unlucky with this product but I really do not recommend these to buy.
@@IndivisibleByZero but then you have another cable unless you get something like a Rode Wireless Go. I think the main reason they made this video is not because of the affiliate links but because many people just wanna pick up one product and be done with it. They don't want to deal with having to glue a microphone on their pair of headphones or buy some that have a detachable cable so they can fit a BoomPro. I mean say they did a video about ModMics and lavalier mics, some people would complain that they should get a dedicated mic and stand, hook that up to a mixer/interface, and use proper headphones with it. There is always room for improvement, but most people just don't care
I have Razer Blackshark and the Logitech G335. I much prefer the G335 even more comfortable (especially in long sessions and doesn't heat up ears), lighter and everything either same or better on G335.
Question: There is a Razer Kraken V3, V3 Hypersense and V3 Pro (Also with Hypersense). The V3 Pro is a wireless headphone. Is their a mix up in the Video or am I wrong?
There’s a mixup. The V3 Pro is not out yet. The one he’s referring to is the V3 Hypersense. I only know this because I’ve been waiting for the pro release. It’s supposed to be before the end of this year(from a Reddit thread though, so not sure how accurate that is).
I have tried a few things. Modmic wireless GET IT! I tried their wired mics before and they were honestly garbage. Modmic Wireless on the other hand, as good as it can get. For convenience I dropped my Studio mic for mod mic wireless. Want to sound good? that is what you get. Hopefully a type C in the future. As for headsets? I always was recommending Game one, good sound quality and usuable mic. Now that the new Epos H6 pro doesn't look like a total joke, unlike their previous models, that might be a good pick up! I tried the Audeze, what a joke. Sounds like shit, drops connection endlessly and the mic is unusable at best. I myself, will be sticking with my Philips Fidelio X2 and the modmic wireless for now. I would like to go fully wireless, but something has to convince me first.
I think their wired mics are good, except they’re dependent on your sound card. The wireless isn’t, and as such you get sound exactly as they designed it. Also, was it really ever $79? I’m seeing $140 rn everywhere
I have the Corsair HS70 BT version because they look like a regular pair of headphones and the audio is amazing. The Mic sounds super clean as well but it does have a hard time picking up voice unless it’s like right by your mouth
I have the Corsair HS60 Pro Surround, very comfy, nice sound, but the connector broke and the ear cushions started to rip off of the headphones on both sides after a year
I also think the SHP9500 with a vmoda boompro mic is a great option. Modmic works too, but it's an extra cable. Otherwise the wireless modmic would be a good pair with the SHP9500 as well. Edit: They also make a closed back headset version with a mic, but I have not tried it yet called the TAG6105
It´s not "The Best Gaming Headsets You Can Buy" when you don´t have the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 v2 on your list - It´s only "The SECOND Best Gaming Headsets You Can Buy" list ;)
@@huyphucnguyen5623 You dont know what you are talking about And if you combine your Beyer MMX 300 V2 with a Sennheiser GSX 1000 surround It´s just WOW
Thanks for the video. I would have liked some comments about console compatibility and it would've been exactly the info I was looking for. Console game audio + the ability to switch to PC Discord chat would be perfect.
The EPOS H3 Hybrid can do that. The H3 Hybrid is analogue headset with the option to connect wireless Bluetooth at the same time. So you can game and chat via Smartphone Discord etc. With the EPOS H3Pro Hybrid you can connect wireless via dongle + wireless via Bluetooth. But that comes at a pretty hefty price for a overall meh/okay music performance. It's not bad but not really good either, depending from what Headphone-Quality your coming it's either okay or meh music wise. For competitive gaming the position is not top notch and the detaisl could be better, but the separation of sounds is good and it isolates well.
It's a bold statement telling me that I can buy.... More accurate Will it be "you could buy" 🤣 but as every year I'll be enjoying the best video as I always do ✌️😛
Great video! Short question on the HS80 from Corsair. Is this headset still facing sidetone (mic monitoring) issues? You can find some people in the official Corsair forum complaining about poor sidetone performance.
This is the way to do it, some of them got it right and can sell the same thing for years. This year I tried a Razor headset recommended here for audio quality... but my old Logitechs destroyed them. But to be fair, that was a 2021 releases only comparison
If you ever were to do a "All time best gaming headsets" it would be great! I'm currently still using my now 8 year old Sennheiser Game Zero but I feel like I kinda need an upgrade, or am I? Would really be awesome to hear your thought my dude!
I'm still rocking my PC360's (the version before the Game Zero I think) and will continue rocking them until they die, despite temptations to buy a new gaming headset! And when that Time comes, I'll probably just go with the PC38X or whatever is the latest in that lineup.
I just been through this rabbit hole of trying to find the perfect pair of gaming headset with a decent mic and can be used for music listening as well. After wasting a lot of money trying many pairs from different brands (from Logitech, Sennheiser to Epos), sold them all and ended up pairing my high end open back music headphones, a DAC + A class Amp pair with a Rode Wireless Go as my mic.
You say the Logitech G Pro X Wireless mic sucks, but you don't include any audio of it! Also, you promote the Modmic Wireless (which I have and is really awesome), but why not suggest some good quality low latency wireless headphones to pair it with? I would love to upgrade my DT 770 Pro's to something wireless but am concerned about sound quality and latency on a $$$ purchase
G Pro X wireless mic sounds almost on par with my budget XM8500 setup (which blows any and every headset mic out of the water) with a proper Blue Voice preset tho
I have the penrose and they are not uncomfortable, just not as comfortable as some others … but the sound quality for wireless are the best … i would recommend getting them 50% off when they have their b-stock sale !
Could you PLEASE review surround sound headsets and how to use them? The prices are comparable to the headsets you reviewed here PLUS they have surround sound! If I'm going to buy a new headset, I'd sure like to see if I should buy one that helps me figure out someone is sneaking up on me.
Simulated surround sound is just software gimmick, your game already process directional audio for stereo headphones, those 'surround' can probably mess the game audio up. If you think about it, how does the software knows where the sound came from and put it in a certain direction? It doesn't tie into the game engine in any way. It only process whatever audio that the game outputs (which is already a directional audio) and simulate this 'surround' effect. if you wanted to hear footsteps more clearly, just boost the footstep frequency using an eq
A very helpful video. I clicked the link for the EPOS H6, as they seem the best for the money and I'm not afraid to spend a lil extra. Not double for audiophile in this product range.
You did an excellent job with the content and editing the video. I just bought an Xbox. I haven't had a gaming system since Nintendo NES. My how things have changed. Lol! Call of Dutie Moble got me hooked in gaming again.

I love my Corsair HS80 everything is fantastic about it so far ( mic quality is phenomenal for a wireless headset) only gripe I have on this headset is the side tone functionality is kinda quiet and you can’t really bend the mic ( I like to hear if I am speaking to loud or not)
But some other suggestions I would have are
Any of the steel series line
HyperX cloud (was 70 now it’s 49.99 at Best Buy. I don’t know how long that sale is going to last)
Corsair void elite rgb wireless (it’s a step down from HS 80 but cheaper and great value for your money usually around 65$)
Friend of mine has a Razer Kraken V3 Hypersense (wired) and I love it especially for the haptic feedback but it’s around a 129.99 price point (maybe some stores will have holiday sales
Logitech g435 light speed is comfy compact, nice color ways and decent sound and mic. I’ve seen it for as low as $59. If you aren’t too picky on going mid tier or high tier then these are a nice low tier get the job done headset. Plus it’s blue tooth wireless
Astro A40 TR (wired) are fantastic especially with the mix amp with it (great competitive and high quality headset) that was actually one of my headsets I owned for a long time after I made the switch from turtle beaches. I owned an older model from 2013 I believe and they still work til this day. I do not use them anymore because I gave my former PC rig and those astro to my brother last year just so he can game on the computer. Def recommend this one (plus you can do custom ear cups and face plates to personalize)
Tbh these are some that come to mind as of recently , also with your preferences and comfort play a big factor with how you might want to choose your preference.

Same got the Orbit S and while on the first day it wasn't great after a day or two it stretched and became the most comfortable headset I've owned so far.
I am so close buying the lcd2. Alas I bought a DAC instead.
it was abit uncomfortable for me at the start but after awhile they really break in and conform to ur headshape... I feel that is true for all headphones eventually.
Mine pair broke just after a year of carefull usage, so thats a no go
Would love to see you review the new epos H3Pro hybrid.
6 months later: How are they holding up? They seem to be pretty brittle, if all the comments I see everywhere are true.
The Corsair HS80 have a recent yet serious firmware bug that limits the mic gain to something like 10%. Corsair is aware and working on it, but no solution yet. Problem has existed for several weeks so I would steer clear of these if you are interested in using the microphone.
Did they fixed the bug?
Also how long last the battery before recharging again?
BUT:
1) lots of software to install for a headset
2) requires premium purchase of software to gain full use
3) The led on mic wont turn off (red to indicate mute, but app lets you hide light when muted instead. This never worked)
4) After 3 months the right-side speaker stopped so I brought it back for a refund
5) Not good support from Corsair
Bought the HS80 because of the microphone and it's fantastic! Very happy with the purchase. Also, having fun switching between Game/Movie/Music profiles in the Dolby Atmos app - it really does make a difference! Oh, and if you're in Windows 11 you'll notice that the Apply button in the Atmos app is gone - the change is applied automatically and instantly (no stutter) because of the new sound API.
Hands down the HS80 is the best all rounder in this video

My favorite yearly video!!! ^^. I bought the Sennheiser GSP300 because of you guys like 2-3 years ago and I still love it.
I recently got a pair of Sennheiser headphones and they are extremely comfortable.
same hyperx orbit 2 year use and a cheap plastick broke

I have the Corsair HS60 Pro Surround, very comfy, nice sound, but the connector broke and the ear cushions started to rip off of the headphones on both sides after a year
In my opinion the GSP 300 should also be in the value category. Same price range as the others in the category and good mic and good audio quality.
Stopped working for me in under a year but other than that mic, audio, and price was pretty good.
3:57 dayum that one smoooooth segue
I also think the SHP9500 with a vmoda boompro mic is a great option. Modmic works too, but it's an extra cable. Otherwise the wireless modmic would be a good pair with the SHP9500 as well. Edit: They also make a closed back headset version with a mic, but I have not tried it yet called the TAG6105
For sure, we've done a full video with the VMODA mic and SHP9500 - SUCH a good combo!
-D.
Overly bright and awful for anything but gaming.
the shp9500 sucks, bought it for 100€ because it got praised everywhere, the earpads are so shallow the ears are pressed into the driver , like wtf
I use Black shark V2 pro for both my PC and ps5 and couldn't be happier.
It´s not "The Best Gaming Headsets You Can Buy" when you don´t have the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 v2 on your list - It´s only "The SECOND Best Gaming Headsets You Can Buy" list ;)
Nah in terms of gaming it not good enough bro it better for music rather than gaming :))
Right, sorry don’t own a console yet. But any of these would work fine with 3.5mm jack. While most of the USB and wireless pairs are PS5 only.
-D.
@@HardwareCanucks thanks again.
More accurate Will it be "you could buy" 🤣 but as every year I'll be enjoying the best video as I always do ✌️😛
I've always listened to you and I've never regretted it before! Thanks dude.
Nice touch with the multiple headset categories!
Thanks so much for this Dimitri! And Happy Holidays!
Great video! Short question on the HS80 from Corsair. Is this headset still facing sidetone (mic monitoring) issues? You can find some people in the official Corsair forum complaining about poor sidetone performance.
Awesome list. Which headset would you recommend that has sidetone? Maybe something around the $100-$150 range?
I bought the H6pro closed.... really awesome..... only downside... its cable a little too short.. just ordered extension cable for it👍👍
This is the way to do it, some of them got it right and can sell the same thing for years.
This year I tried a Razor headset recommended here for audio quality... but my old Logitechs destroyed them. But to be fair, that was a 2021 releases only comparison
The black shark v2 pros Wireless are 135 dlls Usd , picked some up , cant wait to try them
If you ever were to do a "All time best gaming headsets" it would be great!
Dimitri's videos are hilarious! Great content btw!
My mic sounds like shit, tried every setting and preset in blue voice, also has static white noise as soon as you turn it on, really dissapointed
I have the penrose and they are not uncomfortable, just not as comfortable as some others … but the sound quality for wireless are the best … i would recommend getting them 50% off when they have their b-stock sale !
Which is better then, H6Pro or PC38X? :)
This is exactly what I'm wondering about as well
Recently bought the steelseries arctis prime, aswell as a cheap DAC, it sounds so amazing. Also the most comfortable headset I've ever owned.
Unless I'm mistaken, isn't the Razer Kraken V3 Pro also wireless?
@@Summer-xu8qu There are games designed for 3d sound.
A very helpful video. I clicked the link for the EPOS H6, as they seem the best for the money and I'm not afraid to spend a lil extra. Not double for audiophile in this product range.
Thank you so much for this very informative video. It really helped me to choose the right gaming headset!
I love the teksyndicate reference with the thumbnail
You did an excellent job with the content and editing the video. I just bought an Xbox. I haven't had a gaming system since Nintendo NES. My how things have changed. Lol! Call of Dutie Moble got me hooked in gaming again.
Amazing video
I have to say that most of headsets headphones are good but the problem nowadays is the mic quality, so yes mic quality is what we looking for
I am necro-ing my G930. Surround Sound and directional feedback rocks .... it's really on its last legs.
Such a well done video compared to others I've watched
