There's a video on youtube of an elderly Hispanic couple who are Trump supporters but they live in Texas near the border. They have an issue with illegal immigrants but they still help them when they come to their home seeking food or shelter. It's an interesting perspective.

Only someone who could not cross legally would say that the wall sucks. You know what really sucks? Because of all the illegal immigration that I can't travel down interstate 10 or some of the other highways without having to go through fucking checkpoints in my own country. And don't try to say they don't exist because I do u-ship and travel back and forth outta Texas to California and points north all the time. It should not have to be this way. I am not pointing blame at any side I am just saying we have a wall and check points because people simply will not obey the law.
I loved this video. Awesome job in adding a history of the places. My son's family fought with Pancho Villa and likely his great grandmother's father was at that 1916 raid along with a multitude of Aunts and Uncles. I really enjoyed this thank you.
I found this fascinating. For about 15 years my parents lived very near the Mexican border in Santa Teresa, New Mexico just outside El Paso. We used to drive to Columbus and cross the border to visit the pharmacies and have lunch at the Pink Store. It’s nice to get a chance to see the border up close. Thanks so much!
Good job. I live in MN and see what you're talking about on a daily basis. You could redo this into a mini-series, spending one or two episodes on each state. Keep up the good work.
Why don't they do something about the sewer runoff into the Pacific ocean on the border of the U.S. & Mexico. I lived in the beautiful city of Imperial Beach when I 21 years of age & the sewer problem was there then, almost 30 years ago. It affects surfers & other people who enjoy being in the ocean from the border to San Diego. You would think they would fix this serious problem that kills marine life & prrhaps human beings also, on both sides of the border.
From YUMA Arizona at the border. Thanks for posting. Most Americans have never seen the various types of border fencing. I go to Los Algodones (Mexico) about twice a month. People who live at the border IN Mexico are pretty nice, it's those who come from elsewhere and use illegal entry that is the problem.
I used to travel to Yuma for work a few times a year (2001-2010). Most trips would be a week or three. I loved your area and the people and miss my visits. I particularly miss the food. I’m nearing retirement and am considering a visit there just for fun. I lived in Alamogordo NM for a few years in the 1980’s (active duty military) and I remember complaining about the lack of trees (Lol) but after a while, I came to feel like a part of the wide openness. It kinda gets in your mind and heart after a while. Flying into Phoenix (from Atlanta) and driving a rental into Yuma is a nice trip that always made me feel happy. It’s big beautiful country.
This is exactly what I've been wanting to see about the border. Out-of-the-way little places right on the border, oddities, interesting history, surreal sights. I loved the bits of history you put in there. And the sewage situation in SD is sad and appalling. Great vid!
The people on both sides of the border that live there are not the problem. It's the drug dealers, smugglers of humans (coyotes), and people escaping central American violence that have created chaos on the border.
Haven't heard this news ever!!! I'm glad you enlightened me an American my understanding on this issue. Please tell more the regular media won't tell the TRUTH!!!

And Americans are happy to see it go up and loving Trump for keeping his promise to build it. The ones already in place were done by democrats who made it easy for intruders tto climb over, under, cut it down and bring in the drugs and child traffic. Trumps wall is great.

@Matty Bruno Lucas Zenere Salas Well, you are out of touch or maybe not American? Quite a lot of the wall has been built and is working great. It has been fully funded and will be finished by next year. In a roundabout way Mexico is paying for the wall and Trump never promised only said "maybe we will get Mexico to pay for it" Do some fact checking before you spout off making a total ass of yourself jerk!

Did anyone else think about simply handing food through the fence to hungry people. Not getting anything in return except for the smiles. If I wasn't poor myself, I would love to do that.
I lived in California for 35+ year's and the 1 time my mom's friend took us to Tijuana, Mexico I was 14 in 1964. I remember seeing a place full of happy sounds and people, I do remember my mom's friend holding on to my hand and warning me not to stray away from them. I went to San Diego many times but I never went back to Mexico, 😕 I missed out on a beautiful City. Thank you for giving me insight into the way it is today 😟. God bless you. ✝😇
Ross Egan Jr. ----- I was a US Customs officer/k-9 and in this video -- he went from AZ straight to TJ, Mexico/ San Diego. He didn't show you any of the NON EXISTENT WALL (nothing) on the border in many places, not any fence at all in between many areas from Calexico to San Diego. There are areas that do have a wall, but some of that wall is a 3 foot tall - 3 strands of barbed wire fence, and in other areas, no fence at all!
protect your 2nd , also could have waited until night fall and watched them scale the 40ft fence in 8 seconds flat. Or, better yet if it is smugglers you want, go to the port of entry. Depending on what drug that is most are made here in America,
I can believe it. When I was in El Paso there were mountains with no fence or barrier. I use to go fossil hunting on the mountains and frequently got stopped by boarder patrol. They said not to be on the mountains at night as some real shady people use them to smuggle.
This type of heavily demarcated border is quite natural when the economic level of the two countries varies so much. These types of fences and walls do not exist between the USA and Canada nor do they exist in most of Europe. But such fences exist in the Spanish enclaves in Morocco. It all comes down to the economics.
hi Rick. FYi. more countries in EU are establishing fencing as they are trying to counter the flow of migrants from Africa. just google and you will find plenty of info The EU is over whelmed struggling and there is a hidden desperation.
Not necessarily. I went to Eastern Europe after the wall came down. The poverty level was massive. Yet they paid a lot of money for those countries and integrated them into the EU. Even Southern Europe was significantly poorer than northern Europe, yet they got rid of all their borders. It's the same as of the North American continent had integrated.
This shows the need for stiffer punishment and removal of ALL incentives for illegals with so many miles in remote areas where fences would not be enough
To remove incentives, Americans would have to take the immigrants jobs. After decades of trying, it's not going to happen. Americans refuse immigrants jobs. Even offered early release, prisoners refused to harvest potatoes a few years back. They tried, but collapsed the first day of the program. The second day, only Mexican prisoners went to the fields.
A fire pit that close to the fence for camping makes no sense.. a fire pit of that size right on the fence line looks like some people were trying to see if they could melt part of the fence if they had a big and hot enough fire.. to cross . It didn't work of course so they left once they realized it was a dead mission . It was still burning the little pieces left in the huge pit for several hours after they had left and when this guy stumbled upon it.. smh
You Are Brave going all the way down the Wall from El Paso Tx. to California. More US citizens should see this. Thanks for sharing the history of Pancho Villa too.
I never knew that the fence actually went out into the ocean. It's a shame that there is so much pollution near the ocean with the sea gulls and other water birds spreading it around. You have done a great job of showing how the border wall looks and explained what you could see and hear on the other side. Keep up the great work!
Brings back good memories of Neuo Progresso in the late 90s. My fammily would travel down to Nuevo Progresso from Rockport, Texas on the weekends to get cheaper groceries, a nice family meal at Angel’s for half the cost in Texas (or even less), and great shopping. Only problem we could see was the large population of beggar children. Every time we went there, we’d buy a box of Chiclet gum for each of us (family of 5, so 5 boxes), each from a different child. One box of Chiclets cost us around $5 and fed the child (and possibly his/her whole family for the day). At least they weren’t just begging like the children holding up milk cartons to the bridge crossing, but no child should have to work all day just to eat :( We never hesitated to support any child who was selling a product, whether Chiclets or roasted nuts from the family cart or whatever. But anyway, other than that, Nuevo Progresso was a great little town full of friendly people and you could walk across the border with nothing more than a state ID for each adult and a “Yep, we’re all American citizens” to border patrol on the way back. Good times!

Wow! I am from El Paso Texas, been living here in SanElizario since 1996. I was ecstatic to see my lovely town and some of my friends houses on the video😍
I have a suggestion for future videos (this is actually the first video of yours I have watched). I think it would be interesting for you to interview locals and get their perspective on what you are researching as well as how well the wall works. We hear so many biased opinions coming from the media that it is hard to decipher the truth.
Interesting video so thanks for the post and keep them coming!
I think thats a great idea too. It gets old seeing the same type videos.

There's a video on youtube of an elderly Hispanic couple who are Trump supporters but they live in Texas near the border. They have an issue with illegal immigrants but they still help them when they come to their home seeking food or shelter. It's an interesting perspective.
Thanks for going the miles to make this video, I've been wondering when someone would do this, but thank you for doing it.
Only 14 minutes? You could of made a series out of this subject and nobody else is doing it..

Great FIRST video. Now, continue the series to show ALL of the border and all of the spots that the MSM doesn't want to talk about. #BuildTheWall
Because of the rampant corruption within the mexican politicians they steal the money earmarked for infrastructure designed to treat the sewage.

The yuma crossing is by far the best place too cross in if your American enter in sonora region .
We winter in Yuma and go to algodonez. We are repeatedly warned don’t go past the park outside the “tourist” area.

He didn't show you any of the NON EXISTENT WALL (nothing) on the border in many places, not any fence at all in between many areas from Calexico to San Diego. I can believe it. When I was in El Paso there were mountains with no fence or barrier. I use to go fossil hunting on the mountains and frequently got stopped by boarder patrol. They said not to be on the mountains at night as some real shady people use them to smuggle.
There’s nothing dangerous about El Paso though aha

This type of heavily demarcated border is quite natural when the economic level of the two countries varies so much. These types of fences and walls do not exist between the USA and Canada nor do they exist in most of Europe. But such fences exist in the Spanish enclaves in Morocco. It all comes down to the economics.
hi Rick. FYi. more countries in EU are establishing fencing as they are trying to counter the flow of migrants from Africa. just google and you will find plenty of info The EU is over whelmed struggling and there is a hidden desperation.
.. and land stealing
M R yeah right
@M R I hope so
Not necessarily. I went to Eastern Europe after the wall came down. The poverty level was massive. Yet they paid a lot of money for those countries and integrated them into the EU. Even Southern Europe was significantly poorer than northern Europe, yet they got rid of all their borders. It's the same as of the North American continent had integrated.
thanks for what you do! I always wondered what "the wall:" really looked like :) you rock mang!
hi
There are tons of videos showing the fencing all over, plus fly overs. This was another one to add to the mix.
There are so many varieties of the wall that are built, some are just little picket fences
The media would want people to believe the fence was riddled with swastikas.

The fire was people camping out over night, waiting to cross.
A fire pit that close to the fence for camping makes no sense.. a fire pit of that size right on the fence line looks like some people were trying to see if they could melt part of the fence if they had a big and hot enough fire.. to cross . It didn't work of course so they left once they realized it was a dead mission . It was still burning the little pieces left in the huge pit for several hours after they had left and when this guy stumbled upon it.. smh

Good times!
