I love Scrooge McDuck. He is my favourite Disney character.
If you do ask for something like a restricted tartan, make sure that your own social media presence is clean and is a good fit for the brand's aesthetic. For Talisker, think heritage and the Isle of Skye. A tartan is part of the brand identity, and most heritage-oriented brands tend to be risk-averse when it comes to social media controversy.
i once knew a guy who wanted something for a model railroad project. he was able to speak with the secretary of the president of the company. he didn't bother the president, but got very close, and they hooked him up.
Get your future wife to contact them. Tell them it matches all her colours for wedding etc.
I want to have a kilt in Royal Submariner tartan. I’m a US Submariner veteran , and would love to wear it in honor of fellowship + love the colors & tartan pattern.
I did contact HoE, and they said they would reach out to the Royal Navy contact to ask, but I never heard back after that.
As a Royal Navy officer I personally have no issues with you wearing the submariners tartan and I doubt the that the Admiralty will.
at this point I don't even know if my family has connection to any tartan, as a veteran I would choose the US army tartan for a personal kilt but can't think why I'd want a restricted pattern 🤠👍👍
Lol, restricted. It's like getting an Aloha shirt that was issued to Target employees.
First of all, "RESTRICTED" tartans is meaningless, UK laws have no power outside the UK. Wear what you want to wear. If you are in the UK, leave. Now getting you hands on rare tartan material can be tricky but you can get custom woven tartan material, make your own.
It's not meaningless if something is patented/copyrighted/trademarked in the US. Restricted Tartans will no doubt be registered in the US too. And it's not about the wearing, it's about the reproduction of an IP.
As for UK law, it's the same as the above..

quote "Traditionally people wear the tartan (if any) which relates to their surname. If there is no appropriate name tartan, look for a district tartan connected to the area where your ancestors lived..
.. There are no laws about which tartan you may wear, just traditions, so choose a design that you like and wear it with pride!".
