Welcome back everyone,
Today, I give an in-depth POV review of a 2007 Lexus GS350 RWD. I give an exterior and interior tour and take it for a drive. The GS is a very comfortable, affordable daily driving vehicle. It gets relatively good MPGs and is cheap to maintain. Check out the video for my thoughts.

Once again, thanks for watching. - Авто та транспорт
The exterior of this car will never be outdated.
I don’t know about “never” but the lines still hold up 15 years later
It already is 😅
I mean it does look like something from the second half of the 2000s so it does look outdated lol, but I agree it aged so well for an 05/06 design.
It is a timeless look. I have the exact same car in a 2008 model.
@@greendroid77 It’s sexy but it does not look like a 2020 car. It can easily pass as a 2010.
Bought a 2007 gs350 awd last year. It has around 120k miles and the value is unmatched. Less than $10k, even though it is going on 18 years old, but over 300hp with honest reliability, this car was way ahead of its time. Highly recommend!
I have a 2012 IS 350, currently with 125k miles and it’s by far the best car that I’ve ever driven. Lexus truly hit the balance between luxury and performance.
I agree
Got gs300 with 233k miles and it’s still running pretty well. 0-60 as in passport
I have a 2012 is 250 90k miles rn and was looking into LS before getting is. Now after this video I want the gs also lmao
One of the best looking Sedan's ever.
Agree, and the design was steller, looks so futuristic for its time.
I really cant find a better alternative to this car. 300hp, luxurious interior, technology years ahead of its time, reliable as any toyota. Few minor downsides like no fold down seats but not much else to complain about.
I’m so glad I found this gem there under $10k for such a deal and it’s a Lexus I’m just watching vids 24/7 on this car I love it
@@norcal9168 same brotha i got a mica red ‘08 GS350 RWD with 133k miles and she’s minty ❤
The no fold rear seat is because of the RWD architecture.
The only thing come close might be Acura Tl 3rd gen, though fwd
Yup! I traded my Elantra N Line 2023 for a Lexus GS350 AWD 2007 while waiting for my Subaru to arrive LOL! This Lexus rocks!
I have a 2009 GS350 AWD with about 114k miles. I absolutely love that car, especially after owning a few BMWs. It makes the BMWs look like throwaway cars
Throwaway huih.. haha. My 335 wants a word with you
Lol so true
I just switched from a 2011 BMW 328i xDrive to an 2008 Lexus GS350 AWD. Don’t get me wrong I like the GS but the 328 was an amazing car.
@@platypus842 Yes sir the 328 is a great daily and you can have a good amount of fun in it too.
@@dablackbimmer Yep. Probably not as much fun as your 335 though lol. It had decent fuel economy and the reliable naturally aspirated inline 6. Not gonna lie I kinda miss it...
I have an 08 gs350 133k black on black. I paid 10k for mine and it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever purchased. Makes me smile every day
Thats great!! Hope it lasts a long time!
U paid too much
@@tayokarate it had 114k when I got it. Still think that was too high? I got it at a dealer
@@MrMan-fx3ow yes I’m looking at one for 8,000 and it only had 107,000 miles
@@MrMan-fx3ow depends on your zip code too. A friend of mine got a 10’ 130k miles for $9k8, but the used car market is insane right now nonetheless
This particular model is still the most handsome of all Lexus range that turns my head everytime I see it.
I had an 09 with 300km and it still drove like a dream. Plus, that sports mode really was something else 😂
Haha its definitely quick
Your review here was objective, concise, and helpful. Good job. Keep up the good work.
I've had my 08 2wd for 5 years now currently sitting at 218,000kms only issues I've had was a bad alternator and I've had to replace the electronic shock absorbers. Nothing to crazy. I love the car. So smooth and easy to drive.
How expensive is the suspension
@@chadah24 You can use the regular struts. I think I was 250 for 4 KYB struts.
Just bought 07 gs350, no regerts. I love it
I had a very rare GS460 with the v8. I lent it out and it got smashed and I was really proud of picking that car out. I still love the rear look of this model, and with a small update to the headlights, I replaced them with LED ones that gave that checkmark sleek look. I've upgraded to a Mercedes E63, but I still loved this car. Reliable, and very quiet.
You sold the 460?
@@LeiDontPlay No. It got totaled when it was lent out.
Ouchhh 460 is a pretty nice set of wheels. 63 Are just as fun though I’m glad to hear you still live a little. 🤣
@@fijitears They're quite rare and if I see a GS 08-12 model I still look at it as it passes by. They're quite quality vehicles. If I had to say, the tech in Japanese vehicles during this era were better than the top tier models in German vehicles.
Got me a silver 2008 gs350 last month , it's a sleeper for sure .
I recently got a silver 2008 Lexus GS350 AWD with the light grey interior with dark wood trims. Loving it and a big upgrade from the 1997 Lexus ES 300.
In my 11 with 100k best money saving purchase I’ve ever made, plus I can do all the maintenance myself.
That's great, cheap to maintain too.
I also have a grey 11 AWD. Very, very happy with it!
I went from a 2010 BMW 535i to the 2010 GS 350 and never looked back. Today, it's still my daily driver and it's just over 140k miles. It's as smooth as the day I bought it.
Is it cheaper to fix than the 535i?
@@steven5509 that is hard to say because it has not broken as much as the BMW did. Routine maintenance is less expensive than BMW for sure.
Literally the same BMW I have and the same Lexus I’m thinking of selling for..
Well that’s not a lot of miles for a 12 year old car id assume it’d be running well over 200k
@@pistachiodisguisey911 my 08 has 133k and is also running like a top 💪 i just got it at 132k
I have a 2011 GS350 with only 50k miles and it’s my baby. It’s just the best. I love that car so much.
How about the mpg? Can you support me with real life numbers?
How reliable are they?
@@TA-ht4jo So far 100% reliable. Not a thing broken or not working. Nothing but basic maintenance needed so far.
This is my favorite generation of the GS. Trying to find one in that great condition the way you have yours. Great video!
This gen is very nice for sure. Also, not mine, borrowed from a friend.
I just got mines in March 98k on the dash
@@jmak5552 how much did you pay?
@@junior17medval $9500
@@jmak5552 that’s a good deal. I actually found a 2007 selling for 22k. Prices are insane right now.
Nice review, I drive an 08 gs300 that looks exactly like yours. The car it's just been amazing for the past 15 years, even my wife had to buy a 2014 Lexus gs350 F-spot and she is very happy.
I have a 2016 GS350 F-Sport with 52k miles. Bought it used last year with 41k miles for half of its original price & its been an amazing value so far. My friend has a 1999 GS400 that he's owned for quite a few years & hasn't had any problems as expected. Lexus is the best!
I have one and I'm never letting it go!
Have owned a 2008 GS 350 AWD since new....it is absolutely the smoothest most reliable car I have ever owned..It rides much better than my newer luxury vehicles!!

@@volitiveclover very serious...gar has 90,000 miles and is bulletproof!
A GS350 drives like you made it big and doesnt cost much to run, straight up a steal.
Literally the best car ive ever owned in my entire life
Does anyone else get hyped when you see another fellow 3gs in public?
Bought my '06 G300 for $10k with 99,000 on the odometer..I've had it almost 5 years and had 177k on the odometer..Yes they do have an oil consumption issue...When I switched to synthetic blend oil I'm able to go to oil change interval without losing oil...Best car I have ever own..Daily driven , 90% HWY miles
How does yours shift. I just got an 06 gs300 aswell and i noticed that these shift a little firmer and clunkier than other Lexus models. They aren't bad you just notice it more than in say an es350
I have the same car and model and had oil consumption as well. Do you know if any oil treatment like Lucas helps it out?
@@fucore85 it did not help me out. However, he is correct about synthetic blend oil, that's what my mechanic started putting in my car every 3k miles and it actually burns almost nothing now with about 110k miles. Also use Chevron 91 or 93 gas if you can, it helps with carbon build up and the knock learn rating on these cars which is pretty sensitive. Do those things and you will be golden. If you don't mind me asking the same question how is your transmission, I haven't been able to figure out my clunky one, and sometimes when the car is cold it will hard shift quite abruptly. Does yours do this?
@@colelockridge5816
The gs300 is the dud of this generation. Weak power vs the 350 and faulty transmissions. I looked at them and researched before ending up with a 2010 is350. If you look up clublex or lexus owners club forums, there's long threads about the gs300 Trans. They're garbage. Best bet is drain and fills of fluid or possibly solenoids. Honestly I would just get rid of it before you have a $3,000+ replacement bill.
@@michaelangelo5783 oh no it's not that bad. Im not planning on selling it anytime soon. I drove a couple gs350s from that generation and they shift the same way. Occasionally they're just firm, especially when warming up. I came from a gx470, but most people would probably think it shifts like butter. The RWD ones had solenoid issues when you wouldnt change the fluid or get the TCM updates, the AWDs didn't. But ya it's not as good of a car as a gs350 (I think power is fine) but it's better than 95 percent of cars out there
I had this exact car... Just awesome!
Nice vid, thx for the info
I have recently purchased a Lexus GS 300 2006 with 153,000 km on the clock. In my opinion, this is the best car I have ever driven in my life go Lexus!

Have had my 08 GS460 for almost a uear and I look forward to getting behind the wheel every day. An aftermarket exhaust also adds a ton to this car. Great vid!

Have you driven it on snow? How does it do?
which aftermarket exhaust? what websites do you use to find parts? i just bought a 2011 gs460
I had a black on black 2008 GS460 with the V8 and 8 speed auto and that thing was a tank. I think it’s my favorite car I ever owned
The 460 must’ve been a beast, nice car.
Personally I'm trying to get ahold of a GS460. They are hard to come by though but the 350 is a good alternative and you still have that Lexus/Toyota reliability.
If I got one to knock around in…I’d get the matte wood vinyls to cover the glossy wood trim. Car would literally have a 2021 interior after

You’re preaching to the choir with the mid-2000’s Lexus dailies, bro...

Got a silver 2007 gs350 with a 150k miles , bought it for 5 grand thinking that it was a deal but it turned out the transmission was busted. Got it rebuilt for 4 grand and after it become my daily driver, incredibly fun to drive, worth the money I put down for it
That’s a cool story. Car must be a dream otherwise.
My 2007 gs350 was starting to stutter going into 3rd out of 2nd.. so I let it sit and thought what my best option would be. I decided to do the transmission drain and fill and couldn't be happier with how its driving and shifting now. No more stutter
for you guys that daily the gs350, are you walnut blasting or spray cleaning the intake valves as part of regular maintenance? or is it not necessary since the engine is both port and direct injected?
Nice review Chicago I see got on highway from lake street in the city myself
Owned an 07 is350 with the same engine, only to find out about 3 months in I was burning oil the whole time. Apparently an uncommon but not unheard of problem on the older 2gr fse’s pre 2014. If anyone’s looking for a Lexus model with that engine I encourage you have a mechanic take a look just to be on the safe side.
@Free T Most importantly oil consumption at higher rpm’s, carbon buildup (common) and less commonly the hesitation of the transmission to go into 6th while not at normal operating temp (less common but a sign of worn transmission bearings) also I’ve noticed a lot of is350s run weird on 91 after a few months, I personally recommend 93 or 94 once a month other then that very reliable car best of luck on your ownership
Thinking of getting one of these to upgrade from my 07 is250. I really wish these came in a manual though
Love your vid bro
Thanks! I should do more of these.
@@dablackbimmer totally, I'd love to see one on what I drive, first gen Lexus sc300
For me much of the creaking was solved by putting foam strips from amazon in the problem areas. I put some under the center air vent and also some around the cluster bezel. Also my center air vent was cracked so I just got a replacement one from ebay. Car is very quiet now.
I just put two pieces of brown cardboard On the bottom of my steering wheel and I’m good to go. 😂

@@TurtleIt99 Hey, there's a company here in Christchurch New Zealand that converts it, I believe they can do a worldwide service
This design has aged so well
There is also a 450h! The most powerful of them all while being able to achieve 30mpg on highway without a problem. At least that's what I was averaging on my 900 mile journey home. The only "disadvantage" it has over 350 is that it's not awd and it's an actual performance sedan. Much like 460 but it's actually quicker and has more power. It's the same 3.5L from 350, slightly detuned but paired with an electric motor. And together they produce sooo much torque. Most people who find this vehicle look at the gas engine rating and go "pfft only 290hp" But in reality it produces close to 350hp and 360 ft-lb torque and it's instant and there is no gear changes because the transmission is the electrical engine. They are also easier to find than the 460s. 5000+ of them were produced for the American market from 2006 until 2011.
Wow that is cool I did not know that!

My 2008 camry is very easy to get in and out but the Lexus isn’t bad by any means
I’m obsessed with these cars, I’m thinking of having either this gs350 as my first car or the is350/250. I’d assume the is models r more intended for speed and performance than comfort and luxury
The GS here is great, its quick enough, comfortable, and gets good gas mileage with minimal maintenance costs. The is may be a bit smaller interior wise, but is still a great option for longevity.

Is it hard to see at night with the front windshield tint? As far as if you were on a road which lightning isn’t the best.
This Lexus has somewhere between a 45%-50% tint on the front. My BMW has a 35% tint on the front. As far as nighttime goes, a lit road is totally fine at night but an unlit road was a little tough to drive on. The only reason I was fine was because of bright headlights. If you have xenon or HID headlights then you'll be fine with a dark road and tint.

Handled rt. 83 pretty well. Good to know.
83 is definitely a good test at some spots for comfort.. as well as 80% of the roads around here. They really need to fix all the cracks and holes here.
Is this a good deal or bad deal? Original owner 2007 GS350 with 142,000 miles on it. Super clean inside and out, not a single dent or scratch on it. White with tan leather interior. THOUGHTS? thanks!!!
I would say if you have some money aside for maintenance then it’s a good deal, 142k is kind of high though. If it’s going for 5-6k then I would say it’s a good deal but that’s up to you.
Love the review, just bought black 07 gs350 about a moth ago. Its so dope to me. What can you do about the oil consumption?
This actually isn't my vehicle;e. For oil consumption, I would either live with it like I do on my Camry or I would run slightly thicker oil. This may not be good for the engine in the long run though.
Keep a quart in the trunk and check it often. I searched for this generation of gs350 and is350 for ages. I used the lexus driver website to check service records...saved me 3 times from buying an oil burner. I read somewhere that 2010+ received updated piston rings and don't burn oil like 06-09 2gr-fse cars. I ended up with an adult owned, stock 2010 is350. I beat the hell out of it after I bought it a few months ago and have zero consumption so far 🤞
How is it running and how many miles u got on it? I’m looking at a 2007 gs with 141k miles and wondering if it’s a good idea???
@@jaybasezoolander6365
Still running great and zero oil consumption so far. 100,300 miles when I bought it end of March. I haven't looked at the odometer since but I'm probably at 105k now (keep the display on trip settings). For a while, everytime I drove it I would prowl for worthy stoplight races and do acceleration runs. Taken a few weekend trips in it cruising at 80-110 in some sections coming back from the coast. I would definitely check the Lexus Driver site for records on the gs350 you're looking at, especially for oil consumption.
I've probably done 50+ acceleration runs between Drag Racer (acceleration app for phone) and the Dragy that I bought (then returned after it stopped working). My best/consistent low was 5.0s to 60mph and 8.8s in the 1/8 mile. I only made a single 1/4 run with Dragy but I lifted off the gas (back roads are sketchy at 100mph+) and it was a 13.7s...so maybe a 13.6 or 13.5 if I didn't lift. The cars fun, but I regret not going for an isf now (the 5.0L V8 version of the is350).
Ordered an Fsport Air intake system (and sway bars) from Lexus and upon installing I realized the existing air filter was very dirty. I haven't retested, but I'm sure I would hit a 4.9s with the new filter. It's also overdue for spark plugs which I purchased along with a new transmission filter and pan gasket, pcv valve, bunch of Trans and diff washers and 5 or 6 oil filters. Now I need to get off my butt and install the sways, do the maintenance and give it a full paint correction and ceramic coat.
I have 6 foot-long child play-toys that I need to put into the trunk. If the rear seats don't fold, how can I put something 2 feet wide and 6 feet long into the trunk, and close the trunk once it is all inside the car?
That's the issue- you can't. You'll have to store it out the window (lol)l, in the cabin passenger seat with the seat completely folded flat, or on the roof.
