Very timeless design. It came out in 2005 for the 2006 model year and gotta say looks wayy newer than that, can easily pass as a 2010. Heck, the interior looks like a 2013 car.

That's actually pretty smart hiding the buttons you're not going to use often. They should have pulled the odometer, fuel door, and trunk buttons outside though, those are used more than the dimmer or mirror adjusters.

This 2GR V6, being on the RWD platform was actually called the 2GR-FSE, and it made more power than the 2GR-FE in the FWD-based cars that used this motor. We had it on our 2011 Venza, and even at 268HP it was shockingly fast.

I have an 11 AWD, I am in love with it. Notice how the front has an almost SUV type gap. I just installed new struts, it seemed high, but it settled to the factory height. Hump is the front diff. Those cars are reliable as the flames of hell. That chassis is sold internationally as the "Crown" its its own brand. They are used for Police and Taxi, like Crown Vics. Very heavy duty car.

Bought gs300 2007 brand new and still using it. I can't let it go, although having two other brand new cars. 500k on the odometer and still as reliable as it was when new. This car kept being used by my kids as they got licenses, and once they bought their own cars it comes back as a backup car. Every option on the is functioning and most importantly, the AC as it is hot and humid here in Abu Dhabi. I'm not planning to sell it anytime soon.

I own this car in this trim from this year, but in a different color. My wife has a 2008 RAV4 AWD with the 2GR-FE, and both cars never hurt for getup. They move. The RAV4 feels quite a bit different with it's long gears & completely different power delivery through it's 4-speed, and it doesn't feel terribly confidence inspiring in the corners. My GS on the other hand with some Bridgestone Turanza Quiet-trac's on the OEM 17's is a silky ride that inspires confidence in the corners and moves it's weight around very predictably. It only loses traction under 45mph-ish when you give it weight transfer, I have been quite impressed with the performance as well as the driving dynamics of my GS.
I enjoyed your video, it's nice to see more reviewers in this space. However, I do feel that if you're going to do car reviews, you should include some driving footage and also more detailed information about the driving experience itself, not just the features of the car as it sits parked. I assure you it will be a valuable use of your time and effort because there is a healthy market of people who want to know how a car feels when they are researching them. I appreciate your work, and I will be tuning into more of your videos for sure.

FYI: the 3.5 being the 2GR-FE was rated at 280HP, then was later rated at 268. There was no decrease in power though. And the Tacoma never got this 2GR-FE, it used the 1GR-FE from the 4runner. The current one uses the 2GR-FKS engine though. The 3UZ was discontinued before this generation, the only V8 offered was the 4.6 (can't remember the engine code).

Fantastic car when new, almost as good used with 100k+ miles on the clock. Sad we'll never see where Lexus could take the GS, it was discontinued in North America after the 2020 model year. (Or 2021, not sure) I don't see Lexus significantly updating the still available IS/RC models at this point with Western politicians deciding we should have far less choice in cars..and thats coming very soon. I'd be surprised if the IS/RC survives past the '25 model year tbh, and the next IS/RC's may not even have a hybrid option that includes this sweet V6...which saddens me greatly. One of my dream cars is the LC 500 in coupe form, but even used examples with 50k+ miles are outrageously priced these days, doh!🙈

It’s all wheel drive and a tank in the snow! My wife loves it and still gets compliments on it to this day. We thought about upgrading to a rx350 cuz she wants an suv but we don’t want another car pmt if we don’t have to. My 2011 maxima has 71,000 miles on it and is mint as well. Both are garage kept . When I got the Lexus I was in need of a car due to my 05 maxima finally dying , it had 220,000 miles on it and the second transmission in it started to go and it was blowing smoke and the rear wheel bearings were going. Everything happened at once and I found the Lexus at a local car dealership and was sold on it. It is just an amazing car. Although I have to put a quart of oil in it in between oil changes but I heard that’s normal. I don’t think we’ll ever get rid of it.
