if you really pay attention, whenever Z is on screen, the manner in which he interacts with what is around him, he mirrors in a way. When N commented on the game that the two Moebius were playing and was openly calling it disgusting, Z was agreeing, but later, Z mirrors another thing they were interacting with as well. Z has no true personality or presence in Aionios, he's only feeding off that of everyone else to construct a presence that is eerily similar to that which he is interacting with

@@weberman173 yeah, unfortunately it's never revealed what Noah named lucky seven, he did say it was named after something important to him, so we can assume some names, Chris, Yoran or Ghondor
Chris and Yoran because they are precious friends to Noah, lost to the cycle
Ghondor is a fun one for me, because he does admit he is bad with names, the same way N says to M that he is bad with names and that he shouldn't be the one to name their son, we later find out in the dlc that N and M's son is named Ghondor, so I like to think that subconsciously in his mind Noah called lucky seven by that very same name

And so begins the tale of a world slowly dying, devoid of hope and trapped in a endless nightmare. It was only by chance that six solders who only knew war came together and were gifted a strange power, sparking a chance however how slim to set things right.
Also I love how that Kevisy and Aginun off seer melodies sound incomplete pieces of a full song separately but when their both played together they create a beautiful, haunting, yet peaceful song. It's a amazing piece of stitching the soundtrack together with the themes of the game.

It's pretty funny how differently Keves and Agnus are portrayed between the base game and Future Redeemed. In the base game, even after the Moebius reveal, Keves and Agnus, especially the colonies and the soldiers within, are still fairly big players in the story whose actions affect the protagonists and their progress
In Future Redeemed, I genuinely can't remember a single contribution the two armies make after the battle against W. There are optional boss encounters, but nothing that actually affects the story. Maybe I'm reading too far into it, but it really does hammer home how... pointless the war really is despite its scale

    • @core_crystal
      @core_crystal 2 місяці тому +7

I think part of that comes from the main casts and settings being different. But yeah, it's... really interesting to see regardless.

    • @TLNT2103-zg3sb
      @TLNT2103-zg3sb Місяць тому +1

@@core_crystal Agreed, the scope of focus between them helps hammer in the portrayal.
The base game was focused on Aionios itself, so the people in Keves, Agnus, Moebius, and the everlasting war ended up being on the forefront, especially because the protagonists are people that ultimately know only of Aionios, and very little of how many things culminated to the Intersection.
Future Redeemed was focused on Alpha and the Klaus Saga as a whole, with the former being completely divorced from the war, and 3 of the protagonists being very well aware of the bigger picture beyond Aionios, so Keves and Agnus effectively become insignificant in comparison because they're just yet another consequence of Klaus pushing a button.

    Favorite Ouroboros characters:
    1. Mio
    2. Taion
    3. Noah and Eunie
    4. Lanz
    5. Sena
One of my favorite things about Noah is that he does an excellent job of being a leader without needing a legendary sword as a crutch for the leadership name. It’s not a bad thing, but it makes Noah stands out compared to his predecessors, even if I prefer Rex and Shulk personally.
But I feel the reason Mio is my favorite member of Ouroboros is partly because of Xenoblade 2. But it’s mainly because many of Mio’s story beats resonates with me the most IMO.

You know I just realized, the ringing Mio hears while fighting Noah is lucky seven inside the sheathe, I really wanted to replay the game, but still haven't gotten to it and that's one of the many details you can discover in a second playthrough, lucky seven starts vibrating near origin metal, which is why Mio hears a ringing, due to the ouroboros stone right next to them
That's so subtle, but so cool
Same thing goes for Eunie's reaction after seeing that moebius D, she has a more intense reaction after seeing him, which we all think at first that it's because of the monster like being that moebius can become, but no, it's due to the irrational fear due to being killed by them in a past life
Another detail I just saw that's hard to notice on a first watch, after D returns to his human form when talking to P right after the ouroboros scene, you can see Yoran right behind him, it's just hard to notice there's 2 due to yoran being so small, this is why I love xenoblade games, it's so replayable in so many ways, hidden details, reframing of something a character said, deeper analysis, so much you can find on a second playthrough

Honestly something which bothers me about the Endless Now is why would the world born from humanity's fear of the future is just endless killing and pointless wars instead of something more like Brave New World(A stagnated world where people are controlled by pleasure but actually under a dystopic tyranny), while i do think that the explanation of "their fear of the future was so big that people would rather have a world where strife never ends and they are forever in the now" works, i still think that realistically if the collective unconscious was to give a birth to a dystopia it would be something like BNW not a world like Aionios.

11:50 I don't know what this means. Even within this same franchise, a bath scene is still very much more tasteful here than the other game series out there that does a hotspring/bath scene. Especially the one that happens in 2. It's just two girls complimenting each other, and also a subtle, but not totally giving away the big surprise moment. Most importantly, there's never a "uh oh, I wonder what the boys are getting up to this time, to peek on the girls?" moment. At best, there's just a "nice bod" between girls comment, and that's it. The boys just stayed in their rooms the whole time, playing DnD or whatever.
Ultimately it is used to set up a character's big moment that plays out later in the game.
Much more tasteful, and really how you should do these kinds of scenes. Ain't that right Persona, and Tales of? Hell, any western RPG or games really for that matter. They should really take a page out of Xenoblade's book.

Why does Moebius not collectively teleport exactly to where the party is sleeping and kill them given they can see where they are at any given time and have the ability to teleport anywhere in Aionios instantly? It would be 25 versus 6 or 7, though for most of the journey it seems N and/or Z would be more than enough.
Why does Ethel decide, with the annihilation cannon trained directly on Colony 4, that she suddenly doesn’t care about their well-being anymore and start fighting Cammuravi? Why doesn’t Moebius immediately follow through on their promise to fire the cannon if disobeyed when they have remote control over the cannon via their Irises?
Why doesn’t Moebius use the annihilation cannon to wipe out the party while they sleep?
Why does Z allow for all of Moebius to be torn through before he gets off his lazy fucking ass to deal with the party himself? He’s done it before multiple times as we see in N and M flashbacks, but this time he conveniently waits until they’re strong enough to fight him.
Why do Lanz and Sena attempt to sacrifice themselves to kill N by holding him in place while they trigger an annihilation event? N can teleport anywhere instantly, so this is an absurdly stupid plan that could never work. Why doesn’t N teleport prior to X using the staff to cancel their interlink?
Why does X wait until the party is near the castle to start using the power of the staff that can cancel interlinks?
Why does Moebius allow Triton to continue existing as Moebius after assisting the party?
Why are Riki and other Nopon from Bionis and Alrest seemingly dead and Riku is able to live thousands of years?
Why are there two swords forged from Origin metal? Why was Noah chosen to be incarnated multiple times in Aionios? If Moebius choose who is able to exist, Z should have prevented him from spawning after a certain point. If Origin chooses who is able to exist, why does Noah sometimes spawn with an Origin metal sword and a Logos sheath and sometimes with no Origin metal sword but a Pneuma sheath and has to be given the Origin metal sword by Riku?
Why were Shulk and Rex spawned into Aionios, randomly disrupting the Flame Clock system?
Why was N not able to sense that M had soul-swapped since the two of them have an Ouroboros connection?
Why did the Homecoming sacrifice the body and not Mio’s soul?
Why do Homecomings exist if Moebius want to keep as many people in the Flame Clock system as possible?
As a long time Xenoblade fan who has always been passionate about it, there are many, many questions left unanswered by 3 that I’m genuinely lost on. A lot of these things seem to be inconsistent character writing or inconsistent plot mechanics usage, and I would love for someone to clear these things up for me if I’m wrong. The thematic storytelling and through-lines are downright awe-inspiring, but the plot mechanics and internal consistently leave a LOT to be desired.

i'll give it a shot so that the only mark I leave on this video isn't about Lanz being the MVP.
"Why does Moebius not collectively teleport exactly to where the party is sleeping and kill them given they can see where they are at any given time and have the ability to teleport anywhere in Aionios instantly? It would be 25 versus 6 or 7, though for most of the journey it seems N and/or Z would be more than enough."
Gameplay and story segregation, simple as could be; Otherwise the game would be incredibly short- It might just be me, but the entire idea of them having limited lifespans and Moebius being otherwise immortal makes it one of those things where they might just not care until it's them who have to deal with it. They might all live off the same thing, but just like the usual League Of Evil (tm) people may have their own vested interest, sure they could just gang up and eliminate them- Noone dies, and you'd think they might -after- someone does die because now it shows they actually pose a threat. I'm more than willing to guess a lot of moebius acts generally freely but absolutely obey any direct orders from Z thanks to X saying she saved N because it was ordered by him.
"Why does Ethel decide, with the annihilation cannon trained directly on Colony 4, that she suddenly doesn’t care about their well-being anymore and start fighting Cammuravi? Why doesn’t Moebius immediately follow through on their promise to fire the cannon if disobeyed when they have remote control over the cannon via their Irises?"
Close proximity, but also because if we're looking at it as anything other than just G&S.Seg, the Consuls may not understand it- The way I see it at least to some extent is that those two are Blood Knights when it comes to each other.
"Why doesn’t Moebius use the annihilation cannon to wipe out the party while they sleep?"
G&S Segregation again, but from an in universe standpoint, they're just sadist and they want to see people squirm and make hard choices, which usually doesn't go well for them in the long run.
"Why does Z allow for all of Moebius to be torn through before he gets off his lazy fucking ass to deal with the party himself? He’s done it before multiple times as we see in N and M flashbacks, but this time he conveniently waits until they’re strong enough to fight him."
Likely morbid curiousity, just like with him allowing N to begin existing in the first place; Z says that Noah and Mio fascinated him, so I can see some part of it thinking to some extent about how far they could truly go or if it would just be like every time leading up to it.
"Why do Lanz and Sena attempt to sacrifice themselves to kill N by holding him in place while they trigger an annihilation event? N can teleport anywhere instantly, so this is an absurdly stupid plan that could never work. Why doesn’t N teleport prior to X using the staff to cancel their interlink?"
Well, if things are bad with 6 of them and their chance of escaping is potentially nil, why not give it a shot? If you're going to die, at least go down fighting is a more than easy train of thought- Additionally, without knowing the exact rules behind the teleporting in the first place, it's hard to say, especially since he doesn't seem to know what they have planned in the first place. If he has to dodge in their fight instead of just emoting "*teleports out of the way*" it makes a reasonable amount of sense that grappling them and detonating could be a way to solve the issue. Again, especially if they're absolutely screwed the moment they come out of it. Cutscene sword powers and losing Limbs like parts getting broken it's XBX makes things dangerous.
"Why does X wait until the party is near the castle to start using the power of the staff that can cancel interlinks?"
Likely Z's orders to assist N.
Why does Moebius allow Triton to continue existing as Moebius after assisting the party?
Between fantasy dementia setting in and him being unable to remember "how" to HENSHIN, I'd bet it's just because they don't care as long as they all get to play their little game, it'd likely be perfectly possible to jump him, but if we take gameplay stuff into account, he's level 48 when fought and there were lower level Moe's. Unfortunately, level ups don't exist within story, but it's still possible to see it as being unwilling to fight someone potentially higher in power or above it when not everyone may actually get involved, leading to one or more potentially dying trying to take out one guy.
Why are Riki and other Nopon from Bionis and Alrest seemingly dead and Riku is able to live thousands of years?
      Riku.
Classic way to go "woah two technical aegis" while calling back to "woah two shulks", Rule of cool, whatever you'd want to chalk it up to since if there is an in-universe explanation, I can't remember it. I'm fairly certain they've all reincarnated, but Z also had a vested interest in Noah; They might even just have reincarnation cycles so that people don't exist during the lifetimes where someone who knew them may also exist, but that's just speculation afaik- The Noah who spawned in with Logos-Sheathe -is- N as far as I'm aware, unless I need to watch the cutscenes again, our Noah L7 from Riku so i'm willing to bet that little scuzzball just ran around with it testing Noah configurations until one was right.
Why were Shulk and Rex spawned into Aionios, randomly disrupting the Flame Clock system?
I think they covered this in the first part better than I could, but it's around 21:50 or so.
Why was N not able to sense that M had soul-swapped since the two of them have an Ouroboros connection?
It could be that it's still technically "M", she's still there but since N is also Noah, it works in the same-ish way.
Why did the Homecoming sacrifice the body and not Mio’s soul?
Honestly I always kind of saw it as them potentially switching at some point the same way M reached Noah- M wanted out, Mio was going out, so if they swapped Souls beforehand or possibly during it (which is more unlikely, IMO), with M questioning Noah and showing him all of what they went through since Noah resembled (mentally) who N once was.
"Why do Homecomings exist if Moebius want to keep as many people in the Flame Clock system as possible?"
It's kind of a confusing one, but entropy more than likely would've set in, if only one in 100 soldiers actually makes it to homecoming, and people getting Mwamba'd beforehand makes the others run into combat more hurridly to get revenge, the Consuls get to eat a lil' better for the moment. It's definitely something I figure happens rarely to keep up the illusion of it being a choice and to make people WANT to survive, but it's also something i figure they could get rid of themselves if the need arose.
If everyones max lifespan is 10 years, people have to go in and out that door constantly, can't risk someone meeting someone who looks like their friend did 3-4 years ago so I'm sure they just cycle in and out of colonies to keep the queue fresh so people don't question it.
If people like Shania are any indication, it's entirely possible that people outside the colonies also potentially get put in the loop so they avoid that eventual heat death.

I think a lot of these questions come from false assumptions about how things work.
Moebius, and especially Z, are overconfident and want to be entertained (in a sadistic way, so they wouldn't get rid of their enemy immediately), and overall don't seem to be a close-knit group.
None of the Moebius ever used teleportation in combat, it's just a transportation skill (only be used in normal/calm conditions).
Nopons are always weird, maybe every Nopons never age in Aionios (Riku isn't the only one since Burrburr the dungeon architect also lived centuries). Anyways, previous Nopons like Tora or Riki just still are within Origin or were killed before.
Noah is special (and thus Mio by extension), that's why Z is interested in him. Maybe it's because of his connection with Logos, which he keeped when becoming N. The red sword afterwards is just a rule of cool (Xenoblade is Big Red Sword tm) until Riku gave him Origin Metal.
N is self-absorbed, he doesn't aknowledge M feelings for centuries, so didn't sense the soul-swapping either.
Bodies are souls containers, but don't seemed to be linked to a particular soul (since M ability works), so when the body disappears the soul contained too (regardless of whom).
The benefits of Homecomings (like moral boost to soldiers) outweigh its costs since extremely rare (a thousand in a thousand years for Agnus) so probably negligible compared to the soldiers population (also Moebius aren't sustainable, they don't care enough about annihaltion event either and even weaponize it).

    • @Bargate

It's all about Z's entertainment of the world of Aionios. If Z just wanted to survive forever he could just get them killed as soon as they leave the rebirth chamber and basically live in the endless now for a endless amount of time. It's his arrogance of wanting to have a good time with it. Assumingly Ouroboros didn't exist for around 1000 years if the last ones were about the end of future redeemed he probably got bored of it being so easy since the end of Future redeemed and accepted them existing even if it cost him the life of his Moebius because he doesn't actually care about anyone but himself.
