Very helpful thanks for getting into detail with everything great video!
Man, I have been struggling to find the thing for resetting the tire pressure. All the other videos talk about an app, and that doesn’t do anything. Thank you for this! I was getting ready to switch back because with the Tire pressure light on I can’t fully disable traction control which is not ideal for autocross and track. 🙏🙏🙏
Outstanding!!!
Glad you like it!
Does the maintenance minder still function correctly with this unit? I saw that the wrench icon was missing from the dash after you changed it
Do you know if Honda hack works on these head units?? I have the stock head unit still but I like how Honda hack can turn off the voice for seat belt, e brake ect
I’m not familiar with Honda jack but my guess would be no
@@thebackroadgarage gotcha. It has a lot of features to customize the instrument cluster use certain headunit features while driving, clearing up memory on the headunit so it doesn’t run as slow and some other cool stuff. Kinda like a jailbreak
Can you change the automatic rev match with hondata flashpro?
Not that I’m aware of
What car selection in options did you pick ? My volume no longer shows up on the dash like yours lol
Making a video this week and I’ll add that to the topics I have to cover
@@thebackroadgarage thank you so much for the reply and sounds good I look forward to it.
So you lose LogR too? I had no issues with my Log R. Is the Hondata better?
youre lucky or its a head unit problem with mine. My log R app crashes all the time on the track (Android user)
You can disable things in settings you can turn off your onboard GPS / maps as it takes up ram and allways on. Just use your phone or android auto.. after turning it off of course.. even when you use Android Auto the cars map is still running in the back as well if it's not turned off.
Do you still get turn by turn navigation on the Dash
You can with the the included gps reciever
@@thebackroadgarageWhat if you want to run Google maps of you phone through android Auto? dose the dash turn by turn notifications still display?
Does it auto dim when it gets dark outside ?
Going to answer this in next video
How about the hondata app?
I made a follow up video answering this question
Always hate let people do what they want to their cars they pay for
Hahah you guys crack me up 😂 I don’t make decisions on what people do with thier cars. Simply providing info on a product that could help some people out . Thanks for the interaction get more traffic on the video
i dont mess/deal with the head unit as much as i would care to replace it. It plays my music, that’s all i need. Laggy it may be, fck it. lol
I don’t even notice the lag everyone talks about
I just have CarPlay hooked up and it works perfectly fine
@@Kennyjamesss Yeah it does work fine. Its just not as quick compared other things such as an ipad or phone or whatever lol.
@@mkxiong6427 well of course not, it’s a unit they prob had made for less than $100 lol
Mine crashes every week or so just trying to use apple CarPlay for music and maps
@@poulr1130 wild no issues on my 2018
I installed it but car info when I click on settings it freezes and closes
Reach out to joying customer service . I believe you need to change the model of the car in the settings. Their customer service is very good ! Hope this helps
Do you also have background noise when you don't have music? 😅
Yes I do . I don’t notice it as I’m always listening to music , windows down, or cars to loud
is the logR app still there?
Making a video on this tomorrow! Subscribe for more !
also why does the OP have a phone holder in a car with car play
I don’t like having things in my pockets when I drive .
@@thebackroadgarage nor do I, that’s why I put it in the cup holder
@@Kennyjamesss I wonder how many other things you dont use for their intended purpose…. 🍆
OP is so handsome
60-130?
I haven’t done one yet , based on a few cars I’ve raced prob could do 8.5 pretty easily
That interface looks super low budget tho
It works and the oem one looks even worse 😂
@@thebackroadgarage I dunno about looking worse, but the fact you lost a bunch of features just makes it seem more of a waste
Lost 1 feature really. Just sharing with the community a solid replacement.
@@thebackroadgarage I get it’s a replacement in case something fails, but 99% of the time with these android units, the Audi quality PLUMMETS
@@Kennyjamesssmines didn’t in fact it made the sound better it no longer caps the mids and highs and can play at full potential
In time folks like yourself will unfortunately come to realize that these replacements dont last or have the connectivity over stock.... Your $$ is better used by using ur phone w high quality mp3 player used in conjunction with a Bluetooth DSP. Change out those crap stock speakers with better units and utilize an a decent 5channel amp or go luxury with a multi amp system w dsp for a really enjoyable listening experience....
I think you missed the point of the switch. The oem unit is problematic for most people. This is a decent replacement option. Hopefully it last a long time. I didn’t buy it for an auto upgrade . If I want an auto upgrade I’m going to get a full system . Many people can’t even use Apple CarPlay without a crash on the stock unit .
@@thebackroadgarage sucks Honda hasn't fixed this.
They really just put a sub par unit in for the the era this car was released (graphics, features, and smoothness)
@@thebackroadgarage yeah but even the 2022 tlx with elx stereo has the same exact problem... I think reviews are saying that still to this day it's unsolved... It's very odd . I mean your almost better off installing a apple iPad and get a interface for it all to work... That is a long term solution...
