Seppuku is literal "spilling your guts", to restore honor. Combined with ego death, the baby-tooth/coal/burger-meat lines are all about hoping to become something better. He's big on using alchemy metaphors that way.

@@Therealnoshoes If you want a total banger that literally no one has reacted to yet, check out BOSICO by Grimace Federation (butchered by Aesop Rock). It's got a dope, old school lo-fi video to go with it, with cameo appearances by Cage and Jeremy Fish (an illustrator who's done a lot of art for Aes over the years).

That 'rival' at the beginning is ya boy Rob Sonic. They got a trio w dj whiz called Hail Mary Mallon, and it's masterclass hip hop. 🤓

this track is actually part of a 3 part series on The Impossible Kid. It goes, "Get Out the Car," "Shrunk," then "Kirby."
The first song is him reflecting on the trauma of losing a friend and the years he's felt lost in the wake of that trauma. The second track, you just reacted to is him trying to navigate the psychiatric help system and the seeming futility of such an endeavor. The third track, "Kirby," comes after Shrunk and is insinuated to be the end-result of his failed therapy. The line at the end of the track, "15 years taking prescriptions, Now a shrink like, "I dunno, maybe get a kitten." Demonstrating that the best therapy - for him at least - wasn't pills or analytical sessions, but just the connection to another living creature and raising this goofy cat.

Love all the scratching and the instrumental in this. Great reaction!
Obviously, I'm going to recommend checking out "Kirby" next as it is the end of this little trilogy of songs!
Maybe after that I'll ask you to check out some 2 minute Shorts that Aesop made (relevant to this trilogy and just 4 episodes in total, they are on the Rhymesayers youtube.) :p
    Much love dude

@@Therealnoshoes The promos are hilarious, visits with the cartoon bear shrink in the woods. Full of jokes in the background. The animated Kirby looks just like the "mother hiding in her Hulu" that puked out Ryu and Ken. No wonder they always fight- neglectful parenting.
He did similar promos for the previous album Skelethon, involving walking an undead cat on a leash. Morbid, but that whole album was pretty dark. Literally having trouble letting go dead friends.
