nice reaction and observations of some of the limitations of this timeless underground classic. the instrumental, vocal and cinematic samples are really cool and create an amazing atmosphere, although elements may be a bit stacked on top of each other and messy but also minimalist and clean in a lot of aspects. to me this is what real hip hop is all about, raw creativity, taking chances with production and lyrics, rhyming without fear and being virtuoso! Chief Kamachi's verse is an all time great one imo, this album changed so many people's musical trajectories and laid so many foundations for style that would come to define the early 2000's underground scene. I miss that era '97-''06 when I was more plugged in, the music was really good in the underground scene. Aesop's first long form project was Music For Earthworms not Appleseed, I'd highly suggest diving into any track on that record. Dude has always been a genius wordsmith. Him and Illogic are probably the two MCs that actually make you have to look shit up to understand what the hell they're saying. I'd highly recommend Illogics album Celestial Clockwork, some timeless joints on there. Both are probably the most slept on/ genius rappers of our generation.

Just thought I’d throw that out there for the newbs, in case this was somehow not realized, or it’s a first time listen with little information. The albums has aged like fine wine.
