    Thats the beauty of Aesop, his lyrics are so dense it forces you to think. I still catch new thoughts after listening through his discography. Brain food

    in the earlier part of his career, he worked with Blockhead a lot, in addition to producing some of his own beats, (like this one). Skelethon was the first album of his that he fully self-produced (2012), and then he has produced all his own solo albums since then, aside from the side projects he's done with other producers

    Aes production is so good. He brings other artists up when he works with them. Have you checked any of the Hail Mary Mallon stuff?

    Aesop is an absolutely genius writer imo, I've loved his music since I was about 14 (23 now). One of the reasons I pursued English Literature as both my BA and MA degrees. I plan to do a PhD in the future and become a lecturer in said subject, and although I have typically specialised in Gothic fiction, I would absolutely love to design a module on the literary benefits of hip-hop, with Aes as one of it's key authors.

    When you stopped it to repeat “litter’s swindlers” the next part about Ricky kasso line is about a guy he has a song about called acid king. It is another good song by him to do a reaction to. Love the videos btw

    Glad you like it as well, his flow is so damn good. I got suggestions for days for you.
    If you want some more Aesop, check out "Cat food"
    When it comes to his production, he produces a lot of his beats and such himself, but he also works with people like Blockhead a lot, they have been friends since collage. Blockhead actually produced the beat for Cat Food and it's pretty sick.

      What's your favorite element of hiphop? (Flow, lyricism, beats, mood, storytelling? etc)

    • @Therealnoshoes
      @Therealnoshoes  2 роки тому +1

      @@Koofuku1ce I got kind of a cop out answer for you lol. Mood is my favorite, because the flow, lyricism, beat, and storytelling all contribute to it. One of my music teachers told me years ago that "Music is organized sound intended elicit an emotion". An artist that can make me feel something is what really makes me fall in love with their music.

      @@Therealnoshoes "Ruby '81" would be a great one for capturing an emotion. It's just a 2.5 minute story, pure tension building. Even after hearing it hundreds of times, the first tone makes my chest tighten and heart rate go up, I get goosebumps and the last two words have brought tears to my eyes more than once.
      He's got a bunch that hit like that. Probably my all time favorite is "Cycles to Gehenna" which to me sounds like severe loneliness, to the point of apathy to his own destruction, like a pounding headache, with just a tiny blissful moment of relief, then the pain comes back. Flirting with death, because it might be better than feeling the permanence of the absence of a dead friend. Doesn't sound like a pleasant song, but it's amazing.

      Defo second this, I've loved freestyle stuff since I got into hip-hop and Harry Mack is the best to ever do when it comes to off-top! It's just insane the shit he does now, when I saw his Rap Coltrane video I literally thought "I didn't even know this was possible to do".
