My older brother was a HUGE Leon Russell fan and introduced me to his music. Always loved his cool factor.
Well, a Leon Russell reaction! .... pretty thin on the ground!
I like a lot of Leon's work, he's done some amazing stuff, with a lot of people, turns up a lot on other people's records.
Try, Streakers Ball.
Leon had been a session pianist for years before going solo. Sir Elton called Tulsa native Leon one of his strongest influences. ( PS.. before seeing him his voice and style made me think he was a black artist).
The B-Side of this single is
" This Masquerade " which was a top 10 hit for George Benson.
Black Sabbath- War Pics, Listen😊
I just learned that older brother Dave died earlier today. I thought I'd check out a reaction to a Leon Russell song.
So sorry for your loss
This is 70s?
Yes. Apparently, it was his debut.
@@hanierfamily Cool, I haven't heard of him before. Ayeways nice to hear someone new.
@@hanierfamily Not his debut album, Carny was like his 3rd. But this WAS his first well known hit.
@@SPKdesign1 Welcome to the family...LOL
Yep - 1971; he also played piano on Badfinger's EXQUISITE gem "Day After Day" that year (with one G. Harrison on slide guitar.....)
