Not a lot of people talk about catalyst browse for post stabilization. It works freaky good and it only crops 10%. Pro tip for Zve10 users
Dude, how much time it will take to stabilize video of 3min
@@CISF_THAPPA I think it’s about 3x the length of the video size, check out camera crisis. He talks a lot about it
Yeah, pity that Sony's catalyst software is so poorly implemented - you have to manually click on every clip to process it, instead of being able to tell it to do all clips and then go out for dinner...
@@Pharesm that is really frustrating
Overall it 😞 sucks
Hey man! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Your view is completely valid and worth considering for people who value getting more in the frame.
If I could share an another perspective: I believe 16mm should be wide enough for most people, and they'll enjoy that f3.5 with the kit lens is brighter than f4 with the 10-18. I enjoyed the improved lighting, slight extra bokeh, less distortion, and noticeably less noise on the kit lens.
I can't imagine spending an extra $800 to get this quality of low-light vlogging footage. Since this barely had bokeh, it was practically indistinguishable from a modern phone cam, except for the fact that it was wide.... which made it look like GoPro footage.
Still, it's a matter of taste, and I appreciate your sharing your thoughts. Watched this from start to finish, and I'm posting a really long comment too, which hopefully gets your channel some traction! 🔥
Thanks for the vid. I just bought this lens...waiting for it to show up. The footage you took with it looked great! I can't wait to use it.
Great video! this is the lens for my nyc trip! thank you
That car shot perfectly framed too good❤️
@4:25 - and actually entire area there, including the Calabasas City Hall - I remember that spot to be nothing but a dirt hill. Wow... Nicely developed !
Thanks for the giggle @ 02:45. Great review!
Thanks for the Video :) I just got the 11mm F1.8 ... also nice for vlogs
Great video! You are the only one talking about this among the endless videos on these cameras. The most important feature of all!!!! so thank u, The ZV-1 though seems practically useless as a vlog camera since its way too zoomed in without the possibility to change lens. Mind boggling imo
Thanks for the great info bro👍👍
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for checking out the channel!
3:45 this shot was quite important for me. thanks! 👍
can you do a review on the setting you reccomend for vlogs and walking around while vlogging
Thanks for the video. What's the best lens is you are only shooting UA-cam and podcast videos? I wont be using it to vlog so I'm not sure this lens would be great for me.
bro youre a chill ass dude. subbed
Great info!
Thanks Mike! And thanks again for the lights!
Great, no nonsense review, thank you! 🙏 I’ve a question - did you try the automatic background blur with this lens on the ZV-E10? Not sure how that works with the fixed F4 aperture. Thanks!
"Automatic blur" it's a great tool for begginers, but it only move settings to the maximum F stop. So, it's limited to the lens just as if you would use the manual settings
@@hecjvaldez thanks Hector, I wasn’t sure if maybe the camera was doing something in software too
I'd be going for the Samyang 12mm F2.8
For one thing, I'd never zoom in on a 10-18
For another - I like shooting at camp fires and other low light opportunities. So more light matters to me, zooming does not, since I have legs with attached feet...
Why not the tamron 11-20 f2.8
@@cmoney0619 Thanks, I will check that out! Sounds like a good trade-off at F2.8, so long as it doesn't end up suffering from the compromises lens builders have to make when building a zoom lens - not to mention extra size, weight and presumably cost..?
Basically, I just don't buy zooms: I don't shoot birds or clocks on church towers. To get closer, I walk or just put on a different lens.
Primes simply provide more value / better image quality for money in my opinion.
Yes, I know, there are some outstanding zoom lenses built. But those cost as much as 2 primes that are faster.
I could see buying a cine zoom of some sort for video...!
Question did you use the basic or active stabilization for the vlog type shots? Great video just one thing noticed a shake or jitter on those shots and didn’t see or hear you talk about the crop when turned on and lastly did you use the catalyst software that comes with Sony ev 10? Thank you very much
Thanks! I used standard stabilization. The active stabilization was not used in this video. And I do not use catalyst. Everything is done in Premiere Pro.
Active stabilisation is useful for handheld B-roll when you don't mind the crop. It saves me time from running clips on Catalyst. Btw, Catalyst Browse also crops the video a bit when you stabilize it.
I’m looking for a lens that shoots for sports purpose for this camera. Which one do you recommend?
should i get this one or the 11mm? I’m also looking for a wide field of view
if possible review Tamron 11-20mm f2.8
hi Dave, I have Canon lens EF, what adapter do you suggest for SONY ZV-E10 ?
Can I use this lens in Snowy weather or Any Mountain Summit trek?
I like how wide it was but the video looked shaky. Was that because of the lens
Okay, but the lens that comes with the camera is $100 extra, but this lens is $800. How about good replacements for the kit lense around the same price, or is the kit lense actually good value for the money?
I'd say its sort of good - its OSS stabilized and its ok for sharpness. Its not very bright, so its use is limited to daylight shots and a studio full of lights...
I prefer low light capable prime lenses, but this lens is a cheap way to get a stabilized lens - which comes in handy every so often...
What happens with the Bokeh button compared to the kit lens?
I have an issue with my Sony ZVE10 and the Sony remote ... I can connect the two devices but the buttons on the remote do not work ..... any suggestions??
Sadly no... I dug through the entire damned A7C camera menu, trying to find a way to enable the remote. Eventually, I found it in the menu and still didn't work :p
What microphone are you using for this video?
The Tentacle Sync TRACK E Pocket Recorder. It's amazing and I use it on pretty much all of my videos. It's a lavalier style mic that records straight to the unit in your pocket. And you don't have to worry about setting audio levels as much with it because of the 32-bit float recording option. You can check it out here amzn.to/3JFf5SR
That lens is on my ZV-E10 90% of the time.
What lens would you recommend for the ZV-E10 for macro video and pictures.
Is it Auto Focus ?
Yes
This lens has only 1 disadvantage. The tamron 11-20 f2.8. And the tamron has 1 disadvantage, the oss built into the sony 10-18mm f4. so you get a gimbal, and it`ll be a bit better, but the oss makes it super duper smooth on a gimbal. with the tamron you get usable footage in low light, with the sony you get smooth, constant f4 and very little extension while zooming. The wheels keeps spinning, which one do you get? it`s crazy!
light at the end of the video doesnt look that good tbh
The stabilization of the zve10 is so bad :’(
Bro, can we take portrait photos without any lens on zv10
This lens is a STEAL
this lens sucks. it's not sharp. I had to sell it.
