Dude I'm watching you for a long time and havent see you for a while. Now I came across with this video and the quality upgraded so much. Congrats! Honestly how do you achieve this lightning bro well done... I must learn and apply something to my own channel :)
Thank you man! Yea this lighting is actually pretty good 😊 I have a few lights here I can make a video about it 😊
So nice to just watch your Video and how you do it! :) Well made!!
Hello! Only for information, the light gattering of an APS-C lens at f4 is the same as an f4 full frame lens so there is no loss of light, the equivalence you said with an f4 APS-C being a f6 in full frame only affects to the depth of field and the bokeh, etc.but an f4 or an f2.8 lens gives the same light to the sensor with independance of the sensor size.
When I started photography about 3 years ago I always knew through physics that it would not make sense that aperture is not universal across the board when it comes to glass. I really dislike when these creators always apply crop factor to aperture when in reality those two do not correlate at all.
@@dami4944 The crop does apply to aperture because aperture itself is related to the focal length, which is different due to the crop. f/2.8 means the focal length 'f' divided by 2.8. If you have say 23mm f/2.8 lens on APSC with 1.5 crop, you get what's equivalent in field of view to 35mm on full-frame, correct? So you have to use 23mm/2.8 (8.2mm) which is gives you a smaller light pupil than 35mm/2.8 (12.5mm) by the exact 1.5 factor.
One way of looking at it is the amount of light making it to the APS-C portion of the full-frame sensor will be exactly the same as on the APS-C sensor itself, but the larger sensor means you need to increase the focal length (zoom in) to give the same perspective, and when you do you get a larger pupil if the aperture ratio remains the same.
This will be great for Full Frame sony cams shooting video as well
awesome video, cheers man! (haha, i commented before watched, but your videos are always great.)
Always fun watching your reviews :)
If I was on Sony APSc I would definitely take this lens + Sigma 18-50mm 2.8
Regarding stabilisation did you have a chance to compare this against a newer Sony lens? Lately I was looking into Sony lenses and the video from Chris Brockhurst about the Sony 20-70 and Tamron 20-40 showed an extreme difference in regards of stabilisation in active mode. Sony native lens is much more stable on full frame.
But I'm not sure if that's also the case for APSc.
After watching your video I took the plunge and purchased the Sigma 10-18mm for my new a6700. Weather pretty crap in Shanghai at the moment so not had a chance to get out and do some street photography. Love your content style and honesty.
@@thaticelandicguydefinitely let you know. Other than the 10-18mm what other sigma lenses would you recommend?
I have the sigma 16 1.4 but this looks solid too!
Can you please make a video comparing the sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 vs Sony 18-105mm f/4? This would help a lot 🙏
I’ve watched all of your APS-C videos and they’ve been very informative…For vlogging and lifestyle Would u say Sony 10-20, Sony 10-18, or this lens…help would be greatly appreciated
Just picked up an a6700, I’m debating on either this sigma or the Sony 15mm, which do you recommend?
Please compare the Sigma 10-18mm f2.8 with Tamron 11-20mm f2.8 before you jump to the conclusion that the former is the best ultra-wide lens.
Does it have better image quality and color science than the Sony 10-20mm F4? Which would be better for Real Estate and travel photography?
can you test the lens on the sony zv e1?
FIlmed this video last month, finally was able to get it out! What do you guys think about this lens? I'm honestly so happy, i'm a big fan of the good old 10-18 sony f4, and this one is smaller and maybe better?
In the last part you mentioned the not stabilized a6400. From what I got you would prefer to use the old 10-18 Sony because of the OSS but.. for both photo and video? Unfortunately I have an inbody micro shakerizer 😂
Great video my only questions is... does it work in a full frame Sony like the 10-18mm f4?
I bought the Yongnuo 11mm... you should try it!
Im in love with your talking head setup! Please do a studio tour and show us how you get this absolutely stunning look!
Nice video! Do you know if the a6700 automatically records in vertical mode if you turn the camera in portrait mode like with the zv e10?
Now *that* looks like a contender for the «first buy» lense *when* I can afford the a6700 … but I still hate why they just can’t use «realistic» mm-sizing on aps-c lenses - if it’s the equivalent to something on a full frame then just put that on the damn lens, nobody cares what the actual mm of something on the lens is, if it’s the equivalent to something on a full frame as a reference then that should be what they put on the aps-c-lens, not what it theoretically could have been ;) *rant over* - Great video by the way :)
Focal length is a physical data. You can put a medium format lens on MF, FF, APS-C or MFT, it still has the same focal length. The field of view on the images will be different because of the sensor sizes. So it's quite logical to use the focal length for the lens and a reference for field of view according to sensor size.
phenomenal talking head scene. What focal length are you using for it?
Lol i remember the first time i touched myself too 😂😂😂 vids have been great lately man, keep it up!
I plan to get A7RV with 14mm F1.8 (crop 2X to 28mm) and Tamron 50-400 F4.5-6.3 (crop 2X to 800mm), is this good setup?
What would be a compact Ultra Wide zoom for Sony FF cameras? The Sony PZ 16-35mm F4?
Yea I think so, maybe anyone here can chip in with some further insight? But that lens is very compact and lightweight 😊
I like the Sigma 16-28mm Contemporary. Much lighter than the G-Master @@thaticelandicguy
@@thaticelandicguy Just compared them via the camera size website. The FF Sony PZ 16-35mm is 353 grams vs the Sigma 10-18 is 255 grams. So the FF Ultra Wide zoom lens is less than 100 heavier and very compact too
Would you see bigger differences in weight and size when looking at APSC tele zooms vs FF tele zooms? Probably yes
When you are talking about the Sony lens @0:44 the example shots are labelled as the Sigma.
Ah it’s confusing and my bad. These are shots with sigma. I should have put shots of the Sony since I was talking about that lens but yea next time 😊
Please do comparison with the new sony E 11 mm F1.8
You consider this lens to be better than Sony 11mm f1.8. I want to make a decision between those two.
just different, one is prime and one is zoom, it will depend on what you're looking for tbh
From a professional video editor POV, please cut out the bloopers early on the video. It will improve your momentum and get the maching going, leave those for the ending :) great video overall though ty sir.
Thanks for the tip, this was actually the first time eeeever that I put them so early, they are always later. So I’m interested to see the retention graph there. Imo experimenting is the key, you never know what might spike the retention here on yt
I liked the bloopers, first video of yours I am watching, and it was charming. Swings and round abouts I guess! Make what makes you happy is about all you should worry about I think.
GTAVI trailer released guys if you haven't know!
you said 270 grams? other videos they said 255 grams. which is it? not that it matters, but state the facts please.
BORAT BE LIKE: 5:20
It would be so nice to have this on RF mount, but nooooooooo. Thanks Canon. 😄
