  • Hi friends! I posted a few pictures of this super easy crochet head band on my Instagram account and several of you asked for a tutorial.
    This one is really easy, and came together quickly. It took me about an a half an hour or so to complete the whole project.
    I hope you enjoy this video tutorial. I also have a link to download the PDF version of this pattern in my blog post linked below if anyone wants it!

    Thank you for the video, your voice is pleasant to listen to and you are very patient. It is appreciated. I do have a request though. Please use a solid color when teaching, it is very hard to see such a variegated pattern to see the individual stitches. Just a little hint to make it easier on us beginners, though I do love the yarn you used! 😊

    I like that you explain very detail and slow the crochet stitching. It will greatly help to us beginners that you will give the number of stitches you have to chain for an adult headband and for a child headband specially if you want to do this for a gift. Thank for your video.

    Hi! I just want to thank you for this tutorial! Your pacing was easy to follow, I usually have trouble because other videos demonstrate one stitch and speed through the rest but you explain everything well. This was my first crochet project since learning the basics and I feel so accomplished 😊 wonderful video and thank you again🎉

    At first, I tried it with one yarn, and honestly it was horrible.. But then I tired it with two yarns, the same thing you did, and honestly it was super AWESOME!!! I really like your work. Thanks for sharing such a video ☺️

    I loved it ! Thank you for you time! I made one using two colors and it came out lovely. The only difference is that I did double crochet simply using front and back loops and it also gave it small ridges :) I just found that easier since I'm a beginner. Thank you again!

    Your demo is very well explained and the close ups make it easy to see what you’re doing. However front and back posts are not beginner friendly. I taught my self crochet by watching UA-cam videos, and I tackled front and back post way down the road. The ear warmer is beautiful. I will definitely make it!

    I like how you take the time to explain everything. I think it would have been easier to see if the two strands were a solid colors - just for demonstration purposes. The stripes were driving me crazy and made it a bit harder to see for a beginner video. I absolutely love the color combo though - just not for teaching. :)

      DITTO. The video was very well put. I just wish she would of stuck with "Beginner" because as you said her using two yarns made it hard to see exactly the whole process when we have to try to imagine one color not there plus extra strings in her loops. This is more intermediate. But still very helpful

    • @carolhodges7461
      @carolhodges7461 4 роки тому

      Oh I agreed. It would have been better to see in a solid color. And they are called front and back post stitches which will be easier to look up.

    Hi there, I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm a self-taught beginner. My daughter wants me to make her headbands and also ear warmers. But she wants me to have elastic hair ties in them at the nape of the neck, so they stay tight. Since as you say, yarn stretches I'm trying to figure out how I could do this. do you have any patterns or do you know of anybody that has an easy crochet pattern with the hair tie? Any help or suggestions would be welcome. Thanks again have a beautiful night ❤️

    @desmatrix22 6 років тому +2

    Altogether, great video, but I still can't figure out what you did with the chain from the beginning to turn it so there wouldn't be any twisting. I tore it out and restarted three times already, but I still can't turn it right so it's straight.

    • @erica_arndt
      @erica_arndt  6 років тому

      That's the hardest part! Just make sure the chain is straight all the way around when you join, and also make sure you don't twist it while crocheting down the chain that first round.

    • @desmatrix22

    I was wondering why you suggested to use a single color yarn for beginners and then proceeded with using two yarns that have two colors each lol I watched until 19:03 just to see how the pattern was because it is confusing too see four colors. I know the color combi is pretty but for a "beginner-friendly" tutorial, you could have showed that off as an example and demonstrated using one color yarn only.

      Yes, This one was crocheted in the round, but if you did it as a flat piece you that would work too. Then if you used a smaller button you could probably just push it between the double crochet's making it adjustable.

      This was the first thing I've ever crocheted . I've had to view video a few times but I've completed it no problem and I'm on an iPad .

    Using two yarns is not a problem for me. I was taught to use 2 if I need bulky. I guess you can call me a beginner because after the 5th time lining up the chains and finishing just to see a twisted chain,I GIVE UP. I will look for an easier pattern.

      I started teaching them around 8-10 or so, but it depends. My son picked it up quickly, my daughter had a harder time. So I think it just depends on their dexterity, interest level, and attention span :)

    Would have been a lot easier to follow with single yarn and solid color. Can't see the stitches with those colors.
