I started at 65! I was a prolific knitter. Still not great at crochet. My tension is uneven but I still enjoy it. Love that you young girls are keeping the old handcrafts alive 🥰

Just learning how to crochet, this is a great starter project! It is a pattern that comes together quickly and Claudette's instructions are easy to follow. I used a bulkier yarn and this will be a fabulous headband for the winter, and it's pretty! Finished garment comes out exactly as pictured in the tutorial!

You do such a good job of explaining and illustrating. Especially showing which chain you should start out at, that's challenging for many of us. I can't wait to try making this pretty thing, with winter coming it will be a welcome addition. How I wish UA-cam would have been around 50 years ago when I was first starting out.

I am using 3.0mm hook so match some remnant yarn (from one of my wife's knitting projects) and I need 90 chains (+1 for the turn) and probably 10 rows. The yarn is double strand and very hairy, to kind of annoying to use, but once I got the first couple rows done it started getting easier. I'm 5 rows in now. It's good to keep my fingers occupied while I should be thinking about work... otherwise I end up typing prematurely and don't finish the thinking process properly. Along with the other compliments about the clarity of explanation in this video, I would at that the video is also extremely clear throughout, and for me personally, the presentation was such that I could watch the video through once and just know how to make the project now. FYI - Last Stitch only of Each Row - use a half double into the entire stitch not in the back of the stitch. This makes sewing easier as there aren't gaps and your work is more even. I use Caron Latte Cakes and a 5mm hook for 11 rows.

Made mine with navy blue and white stripes and it turned out great! I suck at measuring, though, because it's just a smidge too big. Still very wearable, but it sits on my head rather loosely. I measured properly and thought I'd chained accordingly (I did a chain of 78), but I guess not. So whoops. Still, this is a lovely pattern and I will likely make a handful more before the end of winter, with more accurate measuring this time around! Thank you so much for the tutorial!

I have managed to get by with out a needle by using a slightly smaller hook to pull the tail through, it takes longer but it works.
