This will definitely be the next central vac system I own. I desperately wish they had a powered option, but I understand why that’s not an option. I love that gone are the days of lugging a massive heavy hose up and down the stairs. It’s a total game changer in modern homes with less carpeted floors.
3:05 Damn! That's one clean house with that power.
Now that's how you do it! I love central vacuums but I dread using them because of having to unravel the big hose then trying to find a place to put it when I'm finished vacuuming.
Great review. Thank you. I'm looking to install this, but have a question. In your video, it sounds horribly loud... both the vacuum and the hose movement and retraction. Is that actual or just a happenstance of recording? I was hoping for less noise than a canister vac.
Love my hide-a-hose. The hose on my system has a cloth cover which is nice and doesn't make that noise when retracting
I LOVE my hide a hose outlet on my central vac. Very similar set up as yours. Electric inlets throughout the house and I have a HAH outlet on our main level all hooked up to a bagged MD central vac unit in the garage. Use the thing almost daily! My only *wish* is that they had a hand grip that wasn't gas pump style. I'd love a Vacuflo Turbogrip handle or a basic, old school metal pistol grip.
You can use a herny grip on it.
Aw
Can one of the sebo power heads work or be fitted with that system?
Ty
Oh wow! What a long powerful hose you have! 🙄🤣. I couldn’t believe how much suction there was from the whole system. Now I understand where the hose goes, back into the pipes, a bit like a Sebo X series, but obviously smaller. That explained a lot. I do wish I had that system, but the majority of brick built houses in the uk wouldn’t support it unless the house was designed with it in mind, great video. Quick question? Can you get these with power so the head can use an electric head?
No AC nozzle available. But there are a few battery operated ones out there.
Performance Reviews ahhhhh yes, like the Miele Accu Nova.
Great thanks
how much do they cost on a new construction
Louder than I thought it would be.
( Central Vacuum System ).
Do you use a rechargeable power nozzle with your ‘hide a hose’ such as the Perfect or the Volt?
Wessel werk wink wink
I have a question, do you recommend this older style turbo cat or the newer ex style, I’m looking to buy a turbo cat for my HAH and was wondering which one you recommend?
Whichever you can get a better deal on. mechanically they're so similar .
I have central vac in our house and I do agree that dragging the hose around can be a problem. My only deal breaker is no power head can be used. The hard floor nozzle that you’re using is really nice. What is it and where do I get one?

They now have a battery powered nozzle that has eliminated this complaint for me. Wessel Were EBK360.
I just came across your video and I'm in the market for a hide away hose. I'm interested to know how dirty or clean is the hose when it retracts back into the same line that the dirt/ debris travels thru
As I show in the video, as long as you put a cleaning cloth through it before retracting it every time it stays clean.
What’s ur opinion on the Modern Day Silent Master? I think I want to get one when I get a central vacuum.
Do it
so the 3 story building can we have 8 different outlets with hose connected to one central vac
Yes of course.
We've got a hide-a-hose system, and the hose is coming out with excessive difficulty compared to when we got it. In addition, the hose won't retract by just covering the inlet anymore; we have to help by pushing the hose. I think the problem is crudded up piping from drywall dust, or whatever coating the walls of the PVC pipe in the wall/attic. What we need is a flexible snake of sorts that can scrub the piping of the built-up residue.
Is there a product that accomplishes this? We've tried the suckable wipes and even rags wetted with alcohol. They help for about two days. Is there a reamer brush tool that I can buy?
The other thing that can cause us if the unit dropped in power. You might consider changing the filter or bag depending on what the power unit has. The wipes do a really good job of cleaning the pipe way. You don't need anything to scrub it past that.
Is there a minimum length requirement for the pipe that the hose retracts into (ie does the hose collapse into itself)? Our container is in the basement below the main floor outlet, but only ends up being about 6 ft away
As shown in the video the hose requires its own raceway of pipe. You must have a dedicated section of pipe as long as the hose. Call your local installer and ask about retrofitting one into your particular living space.
@@PerformanceReviews Thanks for the clarification, I missed the pipe-type distinction in your commentary. Appreciate the product review, very helpful
Is there an accessory storage rack you can buy to hang in the garage?
Yes Vacuflo makes such an item.
HELP!!❌❌❌
We have central vac that looks very similar in the garage, but it blows out so much dust the cars are filled. Not sure why cause we changed the filter and there’s no leaked holes other then the slits at the top and the exhaustion. I’m honestly about to build a cabinet around it or put a damn tarp over it.
Can I do something like re route the exhaust away from the cars? Or how bad would it be to put a bag over it?
Call your local central vacuum repair person and have them take care of it.
Your description sounds like an improper installation. Bagged units can be vented into the ambient air. Filtered units and dump bag units must be vented outside.
I am thinking on creating a central vac for my house, but get deterred every time by the "cleaning" part of the runway for the hose. Isn't there an option to fit a felt ring or something like that on the other end of the hose, to clean the pipe in which it resides so you don't pull out a bunch of gunk next time?
Running a cloth through does not seem a good idea in the long term, excess maintenance not to mention someone forgets it. It is like vacuuming one of your kids underpants... do you know if this kind of peak technology is already achieved?
It would feel much better to replace the ring/seal 2-3 times a year than using a cloth every time someone finished working with.
There are plenty of people who don't clean that raceway and don't even notice a difference. I just personally think it's nice to do even if you don't do it every time.
@@PerformanceReviews Thanks for the reply and insight!
What type bare floor tool was that again.
Link in the description
No mention to how the brush rollers are powered?
I have a video on the subject of the electric power brush.
ua-cam.com/video/F_8XBVsUvlA/v-deo.html
Also can you use a hose sock on that
You can buy a separate hose with a hose sock already on it.
But if you buy one without and want one you can.
One more thing does that hide a hose come in an electrified hose as well for a electric power nozzle
Read below comments
it dose not.
That's fine, I purchased a new perfect battery powered power nozzle
Where can I purchased the hide a hose?
Your local Central Vacuum installer.
if you love the turbocat brush
👇
Too bad it’s not an electrified hose. That’s a deal breaker for me.
Friction fit. Thanks. No way in hell.
