Nice video Nathan, keep them coming. We had a lad in our Kayak fishing club who caught 57 different species in Irish waters from a Kayak last year, now there's something to aim for 😂.
Proper fish fest Nathan, straight into fish from the off. Challenging ground to climb around, but certainty adds to the effects of hard won fish. Stay safe mate. Arthur.
Yeah, it can be a bit sketchy with the loose rock. Loads of places I want to try there, but they're going to be a rope and a harness job. Tight lines mate👍🎣
Absolutely brilliant Nathan...it's a good job you know exactly what you are doing..your climbing experience gets you to marks that many can never access..love watching your videos 🙏🙏🎣🎣🎣
Mate!! You are crazy man!! Defo a mountain goat in a previous life!!! Quality vid as always mate, The boat vids are awesome too. Good luck mate and tight lines!!!!
Watching to many of them Mountain goat adverts on tv recent times lol ..But ye i think your spot on he is on a previous life ..Have watch with the holding stones or boulders as they could become loose ..id not chance it .
These types of videos are the reason I subbed to your channel way back at the start. Those climbs are just insane. Rock fishing and climbing is the signature slippy Limpets video. Thanks for the footage mate.Cracking video
Man, you give me the heebie geebies when you climb down those faces, as you know much better than me, one slip and it's all over and probably death. Are you a rock climber in your past or just a nutter 😂? It puts the fear of bejesus up me whenever you do this. Obviously it gets you to marks that no one else ever fishes and you get the rewards, with both fish and the climbs. Stay safe Nathan, one slip and it's going to hurt, at best 🤞🏻
Well done Nath. Who Dares Wins. Weather has been so rotten here of late and im itching to get out. Days are stretching out so wont be long until post work fishing is back on.
Wow! I was petrified watching you climb down that cliff down to the water! Great video and you make it look so easy! Stay safe you mountain goat! Tight lines 🐐🎣
St Abbs is a cracking venue but boy it’s scary getting to those rock marks. Felt like Indiana Jones walking over that half broken rusty ladder 😧 Do you ever eat the pollock?
I'd rather just do the step-over than trust that rusty ladder, it's not as far as it looks. I have kept some pollack in the past, but some tasted like sewage so I stopped.
Great session. When we were young we would do those sort of climbs down. As I've got older my sense of balance and head for it has gone. So felt dizzy just watching. Stay safe mate.
Walk around there weekly, at 68 not got the nerve to tackle those climbs anymore unfortunately, usually fish farther round but not the depth or size of fish. Great video and nice to see some decent fish still about.
Eyup Nathan. I'm pretty sure that I might be the world's worst fisherman and therefore your top tips are much appreciated. If I've understood you correctly then, the ones with the red lips have probably been out there catching crabs but will take a big pink one right down and are nice to warm your hands on. I don't doubt it for a moment. I must say however that I was not as surprised as you were to learn that a smaller one that stands up creates just as much interest as a big floppy one when worked on the bottom. It's a high risk strategy going for the bottom, ain't it just, and the more impressive the tackle the more hazardous it gets as you know. A friend of mine who has some amazing tackle told me that he went on the bottom for a whole weekend round the canals in Amsterdam some years ago and it cost him an absolute fortune because of the extra size and weight. These matters aside I totally agree with your closing sentiment that it floats one's boat quite marvellously whatever one's preferred technique to get the chance to pull it off on a new mark. Good luck on that 'dating' site of yours by the way. 😇 I'll sithi after, Dave
Great video, don’t fancy the rock climb though have you done any reviews on your life belt often go out on chartered boats the one you’re wearing for you recommend and give us a link please
I haven't done any reviews on it, might do one in the summer when the waters warmer. But, Spinlock are a top brand and it's passed the safety tests so must work. it would be great on a charter, a lot more comfortable than a full pfd and cheaper too. Do a search for Spinlock Alto and you'll find them no bother
Always fancied there on the yak but impossible with the huge tide rip. Great to see some pollock getting caught, always thought it was a bit early this time of year but obviously not 😁😁
Cracking video Nathan and some nice sized Pollock 👍 and good to see you back on the rock's 🎣 I'm looking for a new rod for the bass will have a look at the century 👍 Regards Arnie
Great session Nathan, always wondered what it was like down there i the winter having just fished it in the summer. Used to love doing the climbing and exploring thing myself, more so on the marks south of Logan, but I can't drive past the Bass marks 🤣
That was an anxiety inducing start I don't like heights especially when looking right down and can't gauge the depth. Good show but I'd be sat up top waiting if anyone tried to drag me there. That overnight on the boat was a good episode.
nice one nath, quality bit of fishing there mate, rope and lid needed though i thinks, just to keep yourself going would hate for you to have a slip up buddy
Having fished plenty of marks at that spot, people don't get a real appreciation for the work you put in to get to the spots. My knees would be knocking at the top
Great fishing for January. My lures are calling me and you’ve just whetted the appetite even more. A species hunt will be a great target for the year. Cuckoo wrasse would be my target from there 😉. Cheers
I've only caught 3 cuckoo wrasse- Cornwall, Skye and the Llyn peninsula- love it when I do though, one of the most colourful fish in our seas. Hopefully will manage one this year. Hope those lures get a wet soon. Tight lines
down the wall from the car park is where we fished tope conger pollock no good when you get to the bottom and there people on it only room for couple people and the hill is a killer
Some lovely fish slippy well done 🎣done some lure fishing over that way but never in that location,st abbs is bad enough never mind trying to get down there haha 🎣🐐
Just one observation, you are doing better off the rocks than with the boat, and it seems a bit more straightforward than all the hassle of towing, and expenses.
Hi Keith, Lure fishing from the shore is my thing, but boat fishing is brand new to me, but still managed some decent sessions on bass pollack, cod and tope. sessions on the boat too and really enjoying the learning process.
Hi Mark, It's tough over this medium, but, if you don't know already, I'd suggest having a look at how to read an OS map on UA-cam. The principle is exactly the same. Once you can read contours etc then, when you look at Navionics, you'll be able to spot the holes, drop-off's and ledges that Navionics helps us find. Hope this helps
Just subscribed after hearing about you and now I’ve been sat for 5 hours watching your vids 😂 oh by the way what’s those shoes you wear ? Are those waterproof too ?
Your climbing experience gives you confidence. Standing at the top of those cliffs with the wind blowing and the tide ripping so hard you can feel it through the rock makes me shake lol. @@SlippyLimpets
Yeah not gonna lie you're a braver man than me Nathan, might have done that when I was younger but I don't have that confidence any more, very nice fish though.
Nathan this video was kinda like watching bear grylls 😅 . You ate a mountain goat and I'm guessing the camera make it look worse than it is?! Great video loved that quality pollock in abundance
Hello mate, great fishing. What sort of footwear are you opting for when hitting marks like this? I normally wear studded wellies but wouldn't fancy climbing down in those.
Hello Matthew, I wear approach shoes from outdoor companies like Scarpa they're designed for scrambling to crags so fine for this sort of terrain. I add studs to them, just for a bit of extra grip on slimy rocks. Tight lines mate👍🎣
The effort down those cliffs sure paid off with a nice session. Sent you an email for the Berkley lures i won on the giveaway. Thanks for another great video.
Nathan, that was great fishing but terrifying climbing😮
Due to illness I'm no longer able to rock fish, watching your videos bring back so many pleasant memories, thanks a lot, stay safe .
happy to bring you along with me.👍🎣
Same boat..
Nice video Nathan, keep them coming. We had a lad in our Kayak fishing club who caught 57 different species in Irish waters from a Kayak last year, now there's something to aim for 😂.
Thay is a tough one, I'll give it a go though
Proper fish fest Nathan, straight into fish from the off. Challenging ground to climb around, but certainty adds to the effects of hard won fish. Stay safe mate. Arthur.
Well, they ALL worked. Well done man, great session and very good fish as a reward for your climbing down, thanks for the video mate.
Great couple of hours there mate. I’ve had a wander around there a few times but never fancied myself for the climb! 🤣 Enjoyed watching as always 👍🎣
Yeah, it can be a bit sketchy with the loose rock. Loads of places I want to try there, but they're going to be a rope and a harness job. Tight lines mate👍🎣

How I wish I still had the balls to fish where you go!
Take care and as you always do have fun!

It's been a nightmare here to. Got to grab short sessions in while I can. Looking forward to the summer now.
Sounds great, hope you get amongst them👍🎣
Well done Nathan.turned out to be a fantastic session. It was worth the climb down.
I was pretty chuffed considering it was only 2 and a bit hours. Tight lines Michael 👍🎣
Great to see you back on the rocks Nathan, really enjoyed that
Thanks Mark. You've spent some time over there, you must have found that mark?
Yes mate,a great spot.keen to get back up there.
Good Morning Nathan , bloody hell that to me was a scary climb down mate , but a great session , so as always take care & tight lines
Wow! I was petrified watching you climb down that cliff down to the water! Great video and you make it look so easy! Stay safe you mountain goat! Tight lines 🐐🎣

Fishing and scrambling. Can’t beat it.
Thats a nice spot to fish not sure about the climb down mind, that century graphex rod looks a tidy rod to fish with, nice to have a uk made lure rod
Great fishing. Well done. My old stomping ground. Mind u I never went down there. Was always in the Lb side.

Great video Nathan, hope yae got a fish supper in the Starfish at Stranraer, very tasty, all the best Ally

I reckon they're there all year, but the bigger fish tend to go offshore in March. Roll on bass season!
Nice lure fishing I finally managed to get my first cod yesterday 41 cm only started two months ago was nice to break that Whiting streak
A nice size that, congratulations!
That was an anxiety inducing start I don't like heights especially when looking right down and can't gauge the depth. Good show but I'd be sat up top waiting if anyone tried to drag me there. That overnight on the boat was a good episode.
Well done Nathan good session and thanks for the video.
nice one nath, quality bit of fishing there mate, rope and lid needed though i thinks, just to keep yourself going would hate for you to have a slip up buddy
Wish I was fit enough to climb up and down there 😢. Your hunch certainly paid off 🐟🎣
Some of the marks look like they'd be good for some float fishing
Superb mate that climbing though haha
Having fished plenty of marks at that spot, people don't get a real appreciation for the work you put in to get to the spots. My knees would be knocking at the top
The location is excellent, makes the effort worthwhile, even when the fishing is poor. Tight lines
Sod that for climbing down for a game of fishing 😮
Great fishing for January. My lures are calling me and you’ve just whetted the appetite even more.
A species hunt will be a great target for the year. Cuckoo wrasse would be my target from there 😉.

Aye, you need to get there early. Nothing worse than walking back up without even wetting a line
Some lovely fish slippy well done 🎣done some lure fishing over that way but never in that location,st abbs is bad enough never mind trying to get down there haha 🎣🐐
Great catch Nathan
What a session slipps something I've never got into was the silicone lures would be good to see you and smash going at it like you good with lures
They can be lethal on their day, even outfish metals. Not sure about me and smash going at it though😆
Hi Nathan, Are you planning to go to the fishing show in Farnborough this March?
Just one observation, you are doing better off the rocks than with the boat, and it seems a bit more straightforward than all the hassle of towing, and expenses.
Hi Keith, Lure fishing from the shore is my thing, but boat fishing is brand new to me, but still managed some decent sessions on bass pollack, cod and tope. sessions on the boat too and really enjoying the learning process.
Felt slight puckering on that climbdown. Loose rock and grass. Pah. Ive seen the day but not now. Great fun Pollock fishing on light gear.
Aye, I do prefer when it's solid rock but wasn't too loose. Tight lines
Great Video and some nice pollock as well.
Cracking video, good days lure fishing 😁👍🎣
Glad you enjoyed it👍🎣
Great video and it’s a great location
Thanks Stewart👍
Great fishing Nathan. Terrified the wife with your climbing 😅. Tight lines mate.
Cracking Video Mate some lovely Fish
Hi ..Could you give me any pointers on how to use the navionics app ...thanks

Another cracking session Nathan !
Glad you liked it👍🎣
What's that app called ? Great video mate, you one of my favourites.
It's called Navionics, there's a free version and a paid one. The paid one has more detail and features.
Awesome session mate.
Thanks mate ☺️
Thought that was you in Morrisons a few weeks back! Was waiting on a video local to me 😂
Excellent video mate, are they Berkley gulp baits worth using in the sea? I seem to be blanking a bit lately
The ones I've been using are saltwater specific, they seem to work well when other lures aren't catching
Nice one Nathan buddy!
Get in nathan 👏 be getting the mountain goat 🐐 boots on shortly 😂
Nice one Nathan 👍
If you get tired of that rod can always run a David's greatest fan trivia competition😅
Haha, you'd be in with a good shot. Not sure that many people remember David 🤣
@@SlippyLimpets😆👍
Fella cracking fishing can I ask what rod your using as I don’t think mines doing what it says on the tin 👍
It's like watching Jared Leto lure fishing 😂😂😂
Excellent stuff mate.
Haha, cheers mate
My vertigo was kicking in for first 5 mins😮😮...great vid as usual👍
Hope that has vertigo subsided. Tight lines
Ah, MOG. Great area to fish. I'm live being Scottish.

You are mad 😂 climbing down there, hope you have a Life jacket bud
Yep, it's that yellow thing around my waist
Fuck that Nathan - I got sweaty hands just watching that intro. Been at the Mull many times but you would never get me climbing down there!
Haha, The camera makes it look a bit worse than it is.
Your climbing experience gives you confidence. Standing at the top of those cliffs with the wind blowing and the tide ripping so hard you can feel it through the rock makes me shake lol. @@SlippyLimpets

Hya mate what is that app you were using plz. Cheers
Yeah not gonna lie you're a braver man than me Nathan, might have done that when I was younger but I don't have that confidence any more, very nice fish though.
It seems to happen, Geoff. I'm not as confident as 15 years ago, guess that's what keeps us from making silly decisions👍
Nathan this video was kinda like watching bear grylls 😅 . You ate a mountain goat and I'm guessing the camera make it look worse than it is?! Great video loved that quality pollock in abundance
Great session, my kind of fishing, love rock hopping!
MOG ?
Mine too, it's been too long. Yep, it is the MOG
