Briggsy is top tier fisherman father parenting. Never gets frustrated at his kids when teaching them how to fish, super patient with them, always encourages them and best of all, always gets them onto fish! Legend mate 🤙🏽 Yeeewww
Hey Briggsy i just wanted to let you know ,you ,cavy and brooksy have inspired me for years to do what i love the most (Sport fishing) i am now 18 and i moved from dubai to cairns (2weeks ago) to follow my dreams , I actually even got lucky and had a drink with Dennis Verret ,but i wanted to let you know that you are truly a great father that loads of kids would have loved to have ,i hope you are having a good day and hopefully we could go for a little session one day 🤙🏼
I love how it turned into a master class for your boy. All the little pointers you gave him and BLAM!... fish on! Of course he comes through in the clutch with a horse of a whiting too. Congrats on that for a PB. Hope he appreciates and looks back fondly on these times. 🤙🎣
It's always a bonus to see another briggsy video, especially one with your son I love it I don't get any greater enjoyment than watching my nieces and nephews catch fish and taking them to. Teaching them and watching them use what I taught them ! That's what I enjoy the most !!!!!!!! So keep on keepin on, keep the videos up and keep up with your boy fishing. Kudos my friend I enjoy every bit of these videos
Bro I love seeing you teaching your son how to fish 👍🏼. I've got my 14 year old who also loves fishing and each time we go out for a session he manages to catch the most or the biggest fish. Suprisingly he uses the reel handle on the right exactly like ur son 😊. Keep up the good work bro. Fish on!🎣🤙🏽
Just watched the video of yall getting stranded on the island the people in the yacht helping y'all thank God for those kind people enjoy the video thanks 🙏👍 from the U S A
Top vid Aaron. You are most definitely underrated mate. If I could… I’d like to pass on some tips to nada. If you get a loose wrap or loop on your spool. Never open the bail arm. Loosen the drag right off and pull the line off until you get the loose wrap off. It won’t get tangled or knot. Every 10 or so casts, put in a long cast down wind then angle the rod away from where you cast to create tension and wind back in. This lays the line back on the spool tightly again. Your estuary adventures is finesse fishing. Light line, small lures. It’s all about the finesse. Slow down your retrieve speed, always slow it down. You must impart action on to the lure using the rod, using your wrist. Your Dad understands this, as to why it wasn’t the lure that caught the fish, it was his action. Colour..! Colour doesn’t matter in my opinion other than dark coloured lures in water with less visibility and light and transparent coloured lures in clear water. Colour does matter if you believe it will work better because your confidence will be higher. When your confidence is higher your technique and attention benefit from that. Any structure is good cover for fish. ANY..! Always cast at structure. It can be a depth change, weed, a deep hole, rocks, submerged timber, literally one stick standing in the water, anything. Think..! Think about the type of bait you are imitating. Think how it swims, feeds, when being followed you must entice the fish to bite, make the lure flee without losing contact with the fish. Finesse..! Slow it down. Every single person I take fishing no matter the age I have to constantly remind them to slow down. It’s so good to see family fishing Briggsy. So good..! Love your work and love the stoke you show regardless of the fish. It is a challenge in so many ways. If you’re perceptive you will learn more on the hard days than the easy ones ✌🏼
Oh and the wind while it does make things harder, the chop makes the fish less spooky as visibility decreases. If they can’t see you or other predators they are more aggressive or confident in feeding, less likely to give their position away. Your Dad knows…
He is young so he will learn fast:) Not all kids have someone with your skill to teach them tho. Fun quality time day with the light gear, great vis as always:)
What great way to end the day.. brilliant. My theory when the fish hit a lure similar size is it's almost like they trying to give them a nip to say "f off outta here". Then they get nailed on the trebsy
I had bought some of Daiwa's whiting baits to test over here in the States, great summer dusk lure for the Largemouth bass. Might have to buy a couple of these if I can once released! Cheers and tight lines!
Yr the only fishing vid exponent who’s vids can be hallucinatory. Like yr paddling is all speeded up, but conversation in real time. Like an old 90s, head fuck rock vid, like bloody Nirvana or the Pixies or something. Wow!!😮
Bird looks & acts like what we call Killdeer in California. If they’re similar they imitate having a broken wing & when you get close they run away to protect their eggs since they lay them on the ground. 2:46
There are lures that light. Specifically used for "Ajing" Japanese fishing technique using micro softbaits and jigheads to catch Ajis. Japanese word for Yellowtail Mackerel. Or as you guys call it. Yakkas. Search it up. It's a thing in Japan. Also, in Australia and here in New Zealand. AJING.
It’s definitely fun AF. In the past I was also in doubt about the joy of catching a yakka but when you go extremely light with 1.3g and you get hits on a 2lb line it’s something different about it
How do you cast light setups so far? I’ve just gotten a ultra light setup similar to yours and I’ve found its really difficult to cast a decent distance even with the heavier lures
Hi Mate, Thin leader and FG knot so it goes through the guides smooth is super important but also this is GoPro footage (which makes stuff look further away than it actually is), so my casts might not be as far as you think!
Cheers for the support mate, the algorithm either loves or hates you and at the moment from my stats I can see it doesn't love me... Some new films coming soon from a recent trip, so hopefully I can get into the algos good books again over the next couple months!
Watching this vid I was feeling bad that your boy was getting mostly skunked. And then he caught that monster. Good feels. He has bragging rights now. Dad only caught minnows. He caught a real fish lol.
I have always been frustrated with the hooks getting tangled together, may I suggest that Malosi be the first to place them just far enough apart not to tangle. Excelent video BTW.
Hi Mate, the boys are aiming for around Xmas to release the lures. The Sol Reel is already available but I think the Cap'n Risky rod doesn't come out for about a month. You can check out a list of the gear in the description ^ Yew
Mate. Recently come across your channel and it bloody good mate. Out of interest, what part of Australia you fishin. I'm working my way along the WA coast but don't recognise any coast in your vids.
Hi Mate, depends how big the flatty! If just smaller ones then prolly fine to go a 2000s or 2500s, the shallow spool versions save coin on braid and have a different drag i'm pretty sure. Otherwise if you're after big flatty then prolly a 2500D with enough line to stop it if she takes off!
Hey briggsy will these lures be priced in the mid range lure price? im guessing 120 bills for a lure is a little out of most peoples price range? appreciate you're thoughts.
Hey briggsy I know this is a old vid but I need a hand I have a black mq 2500d daiwa reel and was wondering what rod I should pair with it I would appreciate it alot if you could reply
Hi Mate, it depends what style of fishing, what you’re going for with it and what lures you’re throwing, what leader and braid thickness. Check out this film - ua-cam.com/video/OPUhE6JCw_o/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Hi Mate, I just got the new 12 with the max lens mod 2.0 (which is on my head in this film), it's a good camera and the best GoPro I have BUT... you can get gopros of any model that overheats and is faulty. My 11 and one of my 10s both over heated and were unusable for constant roll filming, fortunately my other 10 was great and rarely overheated so I had a stable camera for the last couple years and now got the 12, tested it and it's amazing, no over heat, it filmed for 1 hour 36min in the sun until the battery died when I tested it (which is even better than my old 10 that was super stable and filmed for 1 hour 7 min before overheating (in the same conditions next to the 12)). Spec wise any model after the 8 is pretty great but the bottom line with overheating/errors is any model can be good or bad, you just gotta get lucky to get a good one, in my experience it's about 1 in 3 cameras that are stable and don't overheat/crash/etc. so you sometimes gotta go through a few to get a good one and when you do you hold onto it for a few years until you get your next good one!
Awesome thanks for that epic review Briggsy!! I have never heard too much about the overheating issues them but will Defo watch out for it 👌🏼 Once again an epic video love watching them especially light tackle fishing, you just capture the full experience and is so raw 👌🏼 🎣

Question, can you only catch and release in Australia?
I’m Aussie and you can keep fish and some fish you aren’t allowed to release
I have always been frustrated with the hooks getting tangled together, may I suggest that Malosi be the first to place them just far enough apart not to tangle. Excelent video BTW.

love these videos but i think you should start doing more camping challenges just with your rod 🤙

Awesome video boys,
Do you ever use bait? I like to use lures but when there no action I like to us some bait to hook up a couple fish
What type of assist hook do you use for the tail hooks? Do you buy them or tie them yourself? Also love your videos on the Malosi micro lures!
