Had LOADS of sporting fun with the ballan wrasse on this years summer hols in Cornwall. Well, I was having fun, until my wife caught the biggest, most beautifully coloured, behemoth wrasse ever! Only shame about wrasse is they are not a good eating fish, and being a family who love seafood, this is a minor negative.
Crackin video. I’m heading to swanage late august and hoping to try my hand at my first ever sea fishing adventure from the shore… would love to catch a wrasse of any size and also any other small predatory species that may come along. Lots of tips and advice in this video and really helps… top man 👍🏽👍🏽🎣🎣😀😀
Definitely giving this a go in the summer. Beautiful fish! Where on the south coast, rough area, was this filmed. I was planning on fishing the purbecks area and portland.
Very good watch, thanks for sharing! Been dropshotting wrasse around Irish North Coast on Rag, not much luck with bulb or paddle tail, cant wait to try the z man crawz!
I had same problem on holy island Anglesey,, i just changed to rag worm on same rig ,, and caught loads , did get hammered by small ones tho and the odd proper one ,, i do think the right lure would make a difference tho .
Generally a size #2 up to a size 2/0. Depending on the size of your bait. Some manufacturers hook sizes will differ though. Personally i crush the barbs down to make unhooking easier, providing you keep the pressure on, they wont come off
Was worth another watch. Glad the big boys are taking notice. Might help us with their conservation.
Thank you, yes hopefully they are looked after along with our beautiful coastline for generations to come 🙏🏼🎣
Great film mate, beautiful scenery and wrasse. 👍
Thank you 👍🏼🎣
Good video, but I think the #1 Safety aspect you never mentioned was wear a Life Jacket, preferably an automatic & Hammer inflation Life jacket.
Brilliant filming and fishing, I always learn something from you guys, keep catching and stay safe, cheers.
Glad you enjoyed it and learned something Eliot, best of luck with your fishing

Where can I can that extending landing net pole?
It’s the 3.7m Street Fighter landing net here www.foxrage.com/home/product/street-fighter-landing-nets?b=Rage&c=landing-nets
Was just about to ask this question. Brilliant idea
what net was that?
Why not use a Jika Rig over a Texas rig?

What size hook are you using for these creature baits?
Size 1 or 1/0 for the 7cm lures and 2 or 2/0 for the 9cm ones
