    Your best work is the realistic stuff w/out distractions like music. Enjoyed seeing you on dirty water for a change. Everything that reminds us of our own experiences, including getting snagged, helps to put us right there with you. But now I gotta develop some rock skills.

    Super interesting to see somebody bottom bounce small streams. This is how I would salmon / steelhead fish a large river on spinning gear obviously. Appears to work well down there but we got too much wood in our smaller streams up north to even try it. Tight lines!

    • @hardmanfishing
      @hardmanfishing  2 місяці тому

  • @ryanflint3467
    @ryanflint3467 2 місяці тому

    Really could use a recommendation where I could vacation with my family for a week in December to do some fly fishing with my father in law. We are novices and are catch and release only. Driving from SW FL, would like to stay under a 15 hour drive. Had a place on Watauga rented but not sure what to do now.

    • @hardmanfishing
      @hardmanfishing  2 місяці тому +1

      Yeah I mean I'm probably 15 hours ish from Florida (my parents live down in SW Florida) so it's doable. Most areas up in WV / Va (outside of SW Va) are looking good after the rain.

    Are you feeling these takes with the finger the way you hold the line or seeing them on your sighter? I’m newer to tight lining and truthfully struggling with seeing the sighter. I’ve been dry dropper on indicator fishing but would love to cut the cord and just have a streamer dead drifting this fall!

    • @hardmanfishing
      @hardmanfishing  2 місяці тому

      Sometimes it's both. If it's a really shallow run I almost always feel the take, if it's a deep hole I rely on the sighter more. But if you asked the true tight line nymphing / euro nymphing guys they'd say you should rely on the sighter because if you're feeling the strike it's too late.

    I’d avoid temping in that shallow dead water, it’ll be a considerably higher temperature than water flowing quicker in the main parts of the river/creek. Just will give u a more accurate temp

    • @hardmanfishing
      @hardmanfishing  2 місяці тому

      You’re right, but I just wanted to generally know what it was. I knew if that dead water temped good then the water with the fish would be perfect
