I think the wording with Mammon is that he has held the throne of Greed for *almost* the entirety of the war. So there are lapses. Tactical ones on his part, one might even imagine
I fell in love with the Court on first sight. There's just something so good to me about how well the Demonic Body Horror has been executed in both the art and the miniatures. I look forward to painting them. Sure, there's a lot of gribbly decoration bits (particularly on the Desecrated Saint), but I collect Chaos Space Marines and World Eaters, I'm used to spending excessive amounts of time on trim and accessories.
Play the long game. Are a few fleeting baubles on Earth worth your eternal soul? Our suffering on Earth is the price we pay for Original Sin, but, if we stay true to the Lord, we will be rewarded with eternity in Heaven.
Thank you for all the work you’ve put in! I’ve been obsessed with trench crusade since I stumbled upon one of your lore videos a few weeks ago. I can’t wait to play!! The court is clearly the superior faction 😋
Thank you for this series. It was a real joy learning about the play experience of factions my group did not dive into. Your editing was really slick, and hope you get some well earned rest soon. See you in the Trenches.
Thank you for all your Tench Crusade videos. I’ve been binging all your content since the Kickstarter went live. I look forward to continuing to watch your content as this IP grows.
Mammon has been the most consistent in the seat of Greed, probably since Beazlebub doesn't want it. I find it interesting that Beazlebub and the Hegemons rule from Ekron (the historical home of Beazlebub worship) rather than Hell. But the part that really hooked me was the whole thing about how hell predated the fall and demons.
Revelation 9:1-7 Fifth Trumpet: The Locusts from the Bottomless Pit 9 Then the fifth angel sounded: And I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth. To him was given the key to the [a]bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because of the smoke of the pit. 3 Then out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth. And to them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4 They were commanded not to harm the grass of the earth, or any green thing, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads. 5 And [b]they were not given authority to kill them, but to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. 6 In those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will desire to die, and death will flee from them. 7 The shape of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle. On their heads were crowns of something like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.
really enjoying your videos also your faction breakdowns and Court seems like the faction for me as a fellow 80s child :) hopefully they tone it down a bit but keep the theme of the army as the magic seems a bit insane at the moment
Hey there scanner, don't know if you'll see this, but we had a little black cat show up on our doorstep today, while i was showing my roomate your videos. To cut a long story short, we decided to name the little bugger clive after your boy. Hope it brings him luck.
It’s probably too early to be asking this but I’m excited to see how the church of the metamorphosis falls into this setting. Like what is their dynamic with heaven, hell (and by proxy the court) and earth?
I was actually chatting with Mike a little yesterday about the Meta faction and he was, as ever, tight lipped about it. lol Dude won't give up the details!
The Hunter is just such a tremendous shit to play against- >teleports from behind a tree >fires a L28A1 Depleted Uranium APFSDS from a Challenger 2 MBT to rip your mechanised infantry in half >teleports away again Oh and the one time it ballses a dash roll to teleport away again, and you do manage to hit it, it just goes "teehee, no" and activates its cloak ability to negate the injury roll, *after the roll* . The Desecrated Saint feels like a slightly different flavour of Amalgam which isn't a bad thing.
I liked the 80s reference. Are we thinking Hellraiser, The Thing, The Beyond etc? I am asking because as a child of the 80s I find the Court both intriguing but highly unsettling. Wonder if it’s my memory acting up.
Rule of cool is always the best reason to play a faction, they can’t nerf your headcannon. I’ll be picking the Pilgrims, a faction whose battle strategy boils down to Deus Vult and Primo Victoria simply cannot be boring 😁
I think my only problem with the court is that alot of their units sound like they could be kick ass leaders for the heretic legions. The hunter and hell knight specifically.
So I assumed that Court of 7 Headed Serpents mean there's 7 Archdemon that being introduced into the setting. Beelzebub already here from the start now we see Mammon now.. I assume the Heretic Naval Submarine troops will be under Leviathan
Praetor can just be made into a 1 unit wunderwaffe with Infernal Armour, a Serpent gun, a Malebranche sword and a spell or 2. 10" movement, ignores difficult terrain, has -2 impenetrable armour, gets 2 shots, basically never misses, does gas damage, rolls a 3d6 add results on melee injury, basically never misses, can either go Wrath and get -1d6 on own injuries, or go Pride and ignore a down for 2 blood markers. Genuinely insane unit if fully specced.
It is quite possible they already rode their ride and this is the apocalypse. I am not a biblical scholar, but from my recollection, the four horsemen are heralds of the apocalypse. They don't really have a side.
@@chuckhoyle1211Thanks my dude It would be so cool to see a faction or model involving them. Heck I might just make a band of trench pilgrims themed around four horsemen of the apocalypse.
Okay, it's hilarious that the only rule the Wretches have is a downright negative. They do something impressive, for then not ascending, nor gaining some amazing buff that last the whole game/campaign, they just dips it.
I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that the game doesn't have to be perfectly balanced but I often hear that as an excuse to not bother at all trying to balance your game. We heard this from GW for 20 years - that they were just a model making company. Necromunda is an incredible game but it's widely unbalanced and that can lead to bad play experience.
What's the lore relationship between the heretic legions and the court? Is it like: the heretic legion is to the court what the pilgrims are to New Antioch?
Yeah, pretty much. The Legions are just dorks as far as the court are concerned. A bunch of lesser entities to be commanded, but not trusted with anything important. And meanwhile the folks in the Legions just want to progress to the Court!
Sure my fellow Archdemons betrayed God, but they certainly won't betray ME!
One's a traitor always a traitor so doubts
I think the wording with Mammon is that he has held the throne of Greed for *almost* the entirety of the war. So there are lapses. Tactical ones on his part, one might even imagine
Could also be they didn't hold it at the beginning of it all too. But what you said is probably more likely

(Just to be clear: the setting meaning the game, the fictional world. We clear?)

Hell is High School if the only students are psychopaths and sociopaths and the faculty eggs them on for their amusement.
that pretty much is High School but the faculty actually want to be there in this case.
@@Random-gn6ew maybe.... slightly less violen, however
Oh I'm definitely old enough to remember Visionaries!

Great series!
So it's as if the three Chaos gods of Warhammer banded together, but Nurgle is just on his own like Oprah handing out Covid

It is a bit crazy elite. I want to start a warband eventually but I'd rather focus on the knights and sorcerers than the praetors

Its kind of neat that the biggest impediment to The Court is the nature of the court. Very Tolkien-esque.

Where can you find the rules for the Court?
On the Trench Crusade discord under Warbands and Mercs
So basically Trench Crusade is less the Western Front in WWI and more like the Korean DMZ if the Armistice had never been signed.
Lust warband for me!!

Lilith and Asmodeus and armies of hot Incubi and Succubi when???😊
