Grampa Nurgle would never treat his followers so callously. The Grimdark Crown is sought by a new challenger, and the case is starting to look good for Trench Crusade... I think it's partially because a lot of 40K is tragedy abstracted by sheer scale, but TC being smaller in scale makes it somehow more personal and relatable. And therefore more (subjectively) horrifying. That being said, Ave Deus Mechanicus!
in context it makes sense, since gramps nurgle is a benign god of death and rebirth, while belzebub tries to find the most efficient strand of disease. nurgle does the same, but there's so much more to them than just disease... so for bb to discard a failed strain does seem reasonable...
I love how the Iron Sultanate dealt with thier plague lord. Sacrifice holy champions? Nope. They buried his army in artillery ordinance then shot him with the mother of all cannons. All hail St. Barbara!
Someone else mentioned it too, it’s the scale. Hearing about the “whole galaxy burn” doesn’t feel as hard hitting as hearing about the home of the religions that shaped the modern world being rent asunder. I think both do their own thing well: 40K definitely fills the role bigger, “better”, and ridiculously awful while Trench Crusade brings it down to something more intrinsically scary. Edit: I also think 40K definitely wants to purvey the whole “transhuman dread” concept of Astartes to its whole setting, it’s so out of the realm of reality that it borders on something Lovecraftian. Trench does the opposite, taking what was arguably humanity’s darkest point in its history of warfare and tossing in the scary religious shit most people are familiar with today as a little topping
I love the implication that the demons simply do not understand the indomitable human spirit. When they make a disease that inevitably kills you with the slightest wound they expect humans to cower, but we simply embrace the "heroic death" even harder. To give a trench pilgrim an excuse for martyrdom seems foolish, but shows how little Hell understands faith
I wonder if there’s something like a “Death March Battalion” where’s it’s a bunch of undead that constantly march across the world for battle and replenish their losses from the dead they slay.

They are no political party. They can manage their policies as they see fit. And saying your LGBT friendly isn't being political. If they would make pro Biden ads that would be political or talking stands, it would be politics. Your just being an crybaby.

That and 40K has been increasingly gotten less Grimdark

As a devout 40k fan since 2014, I still believe Trench Crusade to be more Grimdark. It has so much more meaning and weight to me.

Compared to 40K, trench crusade is much closer to being realistic

This game is so great. Your units are dark souls bosses, flesh-creations question their existence, and we done cloned Jesus. Absolute perfect madness

isent it funny that just as warhammer is about to go the way of warcraft. a new franchise arises to give us the grim dark
@@Godaronful Its being turned into a disney princess setting. Which is exactly what modern WoW is now.
The base is there so It's only natural. Companies think fans will always support a franchise when in reality they will consume the product they like .
And already Trench Crusade left their stance clear on the woke that ruined warcraft and is slowly killing Warhammer.
Let's see if they wisen up
