    I don’t wanna hear it about hand cramps. Djokovic was heat exhausted the whole first set, because he played all his matches up to this at night, while Alcaraz was used to playing in the day. Huge advantage to Carlos to start match.

      @MarkTomeh Рік тому +1

      @@taytumnewsome4932 but they’re only best of 3 matches and it’s his fault he was playing 3 setters all week. The cramping isn’t an injury it’s just him handling the pressure of the situation and his fitness. He needs to figure it out because getting though matches is part of what you sign up for. It’s one of the key ways players beat other players, both mental and physical conditioning.

    • @SJ-di5zu
      @SJ-di5zu Рік тому +3

      Why do you guys hear “cramping” and just automatically jump to “excuses?” Are you this sensitive? It’s just an observation. The ability to not cramp is an example of superior conditioning, so Djokovic is getting full credit for playing so long in the weather without cramps. You really don’t need to ride him this hard; he’s getting plenty of credit here. But it’s a fact that Alcaraz attempted a 2-handed forehand because his hand locked up, which definitely cost him a point in that tiebreak. Are we just supposed to pretend that didn’t happen to satisfy you?

    • @MarkTomeh
      @MarkTomeh Рік тому

      @@SJ-di5zu I think it's as much a mental as physical issue for Alcaraz. He had blown a set lead, playing in third set tiebreak. The pressure was on...I think Novak should've won before the tiebreak. He got a little sloppy and tight, gave Alcaraz some gifts.

    Such a good point about the airtight Novak and Carlos being able to pull off incredible shots against Hurcatz, and no one questioning that. I guess that's the fine tuning that Carlos might need to do when he plays a brick 🧱!
    Re. coaching, I was wondering whether JCF was giving too much info to Carlitos. I feel that Carlos is capable of making his own decisions and it will help him grow more if he is left to his own devices.
    Yes Amy - spot on about getting bored at times - I think a split screen could be used more to show the winner/loser of the point. Crowd shots are so tedious! In fact Murray made this point after watching Wimbledon live.

I'd rate the Wimbledon Final higher quality (remember that was in high winds) with the players at even greater raw play level, but they certainly elevated to some fine form for probably the greatest best of three match of all time with insane drama as well. Nothing surpasses these two matches in any other rivalry combined and just five weeks apart to boot. 2022 Madrid was a fine match and 2023 RG SF was heading towards greatness until the choking cramps hit Alcaraz (and yeah that was some form of choking and being too hyped up for a match as I'm pretty sure Carlos had a lot more mileage on him the last two weeks, plus the heat and length of the Cincy Final, aka The Real Slam.😉)

Interesting that Novak, despite the heatstroke, does not cramp at all. Make no mistake, Novak wants to have a clean winning record against Carlos before he announces retirement. And he wants to retire on top with no more debates left.

    Novaks accomplishments are astonishing when you consider the fact that both Roger & Rafa have had TEN significant advantages to help them over Novak in their careers. The so called “objective” experts, analysts, commentators and media fail to mention this.
    Both Roger & Rafa grew up in privileged and affluent environments in Switzerland and Spain with proper facilities to learn and train. Novak grew in a poor war torn country with almost no facilities to learn or train. In fact his parents had to schedule his training to avoid constant bombing raids.
    Both Roger & Rafa had easy & soft childhoods with little or no pressure place on them in their affluent environments. Novak grew up poor and his parents invested all they had for his career. Novak knew at an early age tennis for him was a duty, not simply a privilege or for fun. He fully understood before he was a teenager the massive weight place on his shoulders of his whole family on him to succeed in his pro career
    Both Roger & Rafa started 5 & 2 years before Novak, which gave both of them a big head start start and many more tournaments to pad their records in the race for GOAT.
    Both Roger & Rafa had the the billion dollar industry of the big sponsors pushing the narratives of them being the best.
    Both Roger & Rafa had the backing of the TV commentators to continue to push the narrative of them being the best.
    Both Roger & Rafa had the backing of the Internet analysts to promote them. Novak was generally shunned most of his career
    Both Roger & Rafa had the backing of the court-side fans. During his entire career, anytime Novak played against Roger or Rafa, 90-98% of the crowds favored them over Novak. In fact, the hostile crowds many times constantly tried to harass, taunt, and disrupt Novak during course of his matches against both Roger & Rafa.
    The draws have been fixed to favor Roger & Rafa over Novak. Here are the facts. ua-cam.com/video/B6UPa4l4Xns/v-deo.html
    Rogers era of competition was far weaker then Novaks. Simply look at the facts. ua-cam.com/video/-dp2JgqvHVYI/v-deo.html
    10. Both Roger & Rafa have had to compete only against opponents on the other side of the net. In addition to competing with Opponents, Novak has had to compete against the Sponsers, announcers, ATP, commentators, fans, governments etc. Inspite of Novak not being allowed tp play many Majors & Masters, and the facts he has been been cheated out of many weeks #1 by freezing the rankings and losing 2000 points by winning Wimbledon, he still has 96% of the significant records.
    Novak slammed the door on both Rogers and Rafas last chance to be considered the GOAT when he beat Roger at 2019 Wimbledon and Rafa at 2021 Rolland Garros.
    The media, commentators and the billion dollar sponsors have pushed the false narrative for 15 years that when it came to the GOAT….
    Roger was the chosen one
    Rafa was the hopeful one.
    In spite of their false narrative, Novak is the only one!
    They can arrest him
    They can incarcerate him
    They can deport him
    They can disqualify him
    They can steal his ranking
    They can steal his points
    They can freeze his points
    They can forbid him from playing
    They can slander him
    They can lie about him
    They can taunt him
    They can harass him
    But no one can stop him. No one!

    About coaching. I agree with Joel. I mean, coach yelling at a player what he needs to do, is heard by other camp and a player on the court. What is the benefit for the player anyway ?. Djokovic knows Spanish, he hears what Ferrero said, he can expect the next move from Alcaraz, unless its a trick and or some special code between the Alcaraz and his coach, but even then Djokovic camp could have figured it out. Vice versa is also true. So, why not make it like in boxing or some other sports. Coach sits on a bench with a player, tells him what to do, other player and his camp cant hear it, and thats it. I dont know about airing it on a TV, because then thr opponent camp can use some device like a phone to see whats been said anyway. So, yea coaching is kind of dumb if you ask me when done incorrectly like its done now. It has very little effect on the match. Before, it had way more effect when it was illegal and was done with some signs that only a player and his coach understand, and who ever "cheated" better had the advantage. Now, its just to predictable to the other camp. So either make it like boxing, or ban it is what i say. Leave the player to figure it out. Im actually against coaching and many of these modern changes tennis had. Tradition is important for a reason.

    I love your programme.. i believe it would need a change of name from Three ( focused on Fereder, Nadal and Djokovic) to "Top Three" - A Tennis Show focused on Top 3 ATP Players....this would allow you to focus more top 3 and the show would remain evergreen...

    WOW! Firstly, GREAT to CU guyz! That was incredible. Gill-spot on for the twists & turns-UNBELIEVABLE! 1st set: Djoker breaks first then starts running out of gas after 4-2 looks gassed & drops it 5-7. Second set, Carlos up 4-2 & then has a match point & Nole wins it in the end! Then, the 3rd set was Carlos just NOT GOING AWAY w/Nole having 3-4-5 match points. Then, Novak wins in a 3rd set breaker. EPIC. Nerve-racking. So much drama & amazing shots & amazing comebacks! Takes your breath away! EPIC rivalry for 2023! Not enough adjectives in the English language! The hand injury/wrap for Carlitos and how that impacts USO-23. Novak wrapped the racket during Wimby23 & now Carlos injures hand on the cooler - passion & releasing emotion-focus/discipline & explosions - human condition. Agree with Joel on the Madrid-RG23-Wimby23 narrative. Amy & Gill-Agree about the shock to the system on heat exhaustion for Nole. Thanx Amy, Joel & Gill. You guyz ARE AWESOME! Cheers Milan.

      @tuning the narrative should be there is no favorite when these guys played b/c either guy can win it’s a coin flip form before the match doesn’t mean anything
      Also we have seen what I have said above in other great rivalries where before the match some people go in and say x is playing better then y but y when wins and vice versa when y is supposedly playing congrats on the win can’t wait for USO

      @@colethomas903 yup.Looks like the margins are razor thin going both ways. Amazing what a 36 year-old can do these days against a 20 year-old. Not sure how much longer Novak can keep up this level. Agree. Toss out the stats & lead-up. Coin toss is not only before BUT several times DURING as well! Cheers Milan

    What’s the rule? I thought players were usually allowed one locker room break per best-of-three set match.
    “Undisciplined” Alcaraz had 42 winners and 22 unforced errors vs. 28 winners and 20 unforced errors for Djokovic.
    Biggest surprise? net points: 22/33 for Djokovic vs. 14/20 for Alcaraz. Alcaraz is the catalyst; Djokovic is the reactant.
    There’s a difference between getting tired and cramping. Unfortunately, Alcaraz does seem to have cramping issues.
    Not enough replays and hero shots and too many crowd shots--thanks for dumping on how Tennis Channel covers matches!

      Well you obviously watch tennis since yesterday and you are completely unfamiliar with the rules. So your ignorance is embarrassing. What you think is irrelevant and rules are simple. You are hating on a man who is the best in history in what he does and at the same time you don't even know the simple rules. How sad and pathetic. Your soul is dirty.

    I like the point about this rivalry being instantly glorious. There was no transition of the experienced player beating the younger one a few times, then slowly fading and the younger one picking up.
    This truly has been a remarkable rivalry. 2-2. All matches high quality and going the distance. It’s like both are Kings of their worlds. And it’s impossible to predict who’s going to win the next one , regardless of the surface.
    I think Alcaraz deserves all the credit for not getting bogged down and really bringing his A game at such a young age. My word. Don’t want to see any other final for as long as Novak continues.

    Its problem solved for Novak, Alcaraz problem solved! That is the reason for the ripping of the shirt. It was an apt reaction. I marvel at it. Idemo Novak! I am aslo seeing that not only Novak, but the others are also solving the Alcaraz problem. So its gonna be pretty open for the field or those in the top after the Djokovic era.
