I have both of these watches shown and they are excellent although for different reasons as presented. The day-date is the better overall but each has its own place. Well presented.
Hey Gerald, I own the two tone sub and im thinking of selling it and get the DD 40. you having both of those models, do you think i can get the same amount of wear from the DD given im mostly in jeans and t shirts, and rarely wear shirts. thanks
Louis Yammine The choice can only be made by you and I am sure you will make it. They are both great but the day-date is slightly more famous and scratches about the same as the sub. Good luck.
If I would have the choice in just getting one of these for my lifetime I always would go for a Submariner. Nevertheless the DD is the most iconic Rolex out there the Submariners history, versatility and durability goes beyond that.
I have the 2 tone sub. I think i would hate that hangy thing on the clasp of the daydate. Plus i cant imagine how scratched that gold would get. I have the 2 tone sub and i HATE that it has scratched so bad
Not to nit pick but in 2020, to replace the bezel insert (blue part) will run you $230 from a Rolex service center - I had this replaced. Now if you damage the bezel, that will run you some $$$.
did not show the complete function of the day date crown in regards to setting the day of the week,just rotate the crown in the opposite direction to change the day of the week

me too...gold is super soft for watches, but still all the most beatiful ones are in gold🤷♂️
