We've all already seen Galactica jumping out an atmosphere while in freefall and under severe structural stress due to incredible reentry speeds. That just went absolutely hog wild with guns, which absolutely stripped the believability from the concept of the Battlestars. The sheer volume of weapons would have required such extensive refitting of the ship’s hulls to add dozens of new turret ring emplacement, fire control systems and so many tertiary weapons systems, as to make the cost to effectiveness absolutely zero, and quite possibly in the negative. There is a reason why battleships of old weren’t completely lined with as many guns as the deck could fit. At a certain point you end up with too many guns and no real benefits. You would be far better off building multiple battlestars with more reasonable weapons emplacements, rather than trying to cram as many weapons into a single hull. Not to mention with all those guns, you would need a dedicated Fleet of Munitions Ships to resupply your ammunition BlackHoleBattlestar…

Or a combined battle group i, with the mercury class pegasus admiral cain commanded pegasus two mark 2 Jupiter's 3 valkyrie and two escort carriers. ( berserk)
If it were not for the doctrinal change of the Cylons, the Cylons would have won the war. They could have destroyed New Caprica in the first battle for it, leaving not enough humans behind to restart any sort of civilization.
So Galactica was the first Jupiter complete, and then the first Jupiter refit. Kind of like how the Enterprise was the first Constitution launched and the first refit.
developer insight - he's kind of the "official" youtuber for the game so obviously what he's saying in screen he's been told by the developers who've worked on the DLC, which will obviously included information about what happened with Galactica after Colonial Fleet left her behind during the in-game DLC campaign.
I thought that the Galactica had 24 heavy batteries and not 22 ( 8 forward under the "head", 8 on the spine and 8 and the belly ). Only a detail tho, good video still!
I'm kind of disappointed that Resurrection apparently doesn't have any new smaller ships. (What I've read only lists the Jupiter II Battlestar and a new Cylon basestar plus a new strike craft squad for each fleet.) but hopefully that will be fixed soon.
I just discovered that the Jupiter Mark II has four sublight engines in the game, but in the series, Battlestar Galactica has 6 engines. Did it get a second refit?
BSGD Sin and Sacrifice narrative: The Colonial Fleet is royally fucked Also BSGD Sin and Sacrifice starmap: There's at least 20 Jupiters stationed per colony >_>
The Mercury is bigger and powerful, but the weight the Jupiter class carries with its name, actions and service record is almost as heavy as the very planet it was named after. Mercury class....it just doesn't have the same ring as Jupiter class
Uh, yeah? Of course it is, they don't exactly have the time to be refitting the Galactica during the show we see. This is the nice thing about Deadlock, you get to see the battles that made Galactica's name in the first place, while the show only really had it serve in the first war as a background detail.
This fits well with Razor Flashbacks. However the Galactica lacked a good amount of it's Armor Plating in Operation: Raptor Talon. Maybe there's a Jupiter-III we don't know about yet.... One that adds even more Point Defense Turrets while sacrificing Armor protection. The Columbia and a third Unknown Battlestar had the Jupiter Mk II Specs. This was in the 12th year of the War so it's likely that Galactica was Refitted again.
It's from the Deadlock campaign story. In the game, they plucked Galactica out of an ocean after she went down and rebuilt her in secret. The base she is docked at there was during her refit, but it doesn't feature in the gameplay and is only seen in that still image through the campaign story narration.
The only thing i don't like of the game is the spawn of extra cylons. 2 turns longer and I would not lose half my fleets to repetative spawns. 2 quick cylon ships navigate away in opposite directions and I can't chase them down and kill them before more come. Or initial spawns are so far away that a pair of Jupiters and support ships can't fight the 6 escorts and reach the 2 trailing basestars before the reinforcements arrive over and over.
I always had a problem with the 3 support beams on the Jupiter Class ships in Deadlock. I don't even know why they heavily changed the original design of the Jupiter class. They should have just used the Blood & Chrome Jupiter class for continuity. all the other ship designs are great though.
I was seriously hoping to see more gun emplacements on the mark 2 variant like we see in Blood and Chrome. I'm guessing they will introduce the Valkyrie 'class' at the start of Season 3.

In real life this is due to the film being shot Mostly against a Greenscreen as the BSG sets had been dismantled and the CGI artists being a little.... Overzealous.
@@richardched6085 ^this .. i wouldnt take anything visual from Blood & Chrome as canon .. maybe the Raptor and the Viper mk3 and even so the mk2 was suposed to be the main line fighter yet we dont see even one in B&C
@@sparrowlt way I see it: B&C was made by Caprica Hollywood and their relationship was realism is similar to our own version
NOT to be confused with the Jupiter II!
Truly amazing! In my headcanon the "First 12 Battlestars" was referring to this "Galactica Subclass" and not the prototype Jupiter class. I wonder how Blood and Chrome's BSG variant fits into this Jupiter lineage......
Mark 3,maybe
@@steel12fire8 which would make the Razor Flashbacks version the Mk IV. And the Post War Variant the Mk V (All ships Except Galactica were either retired or Refitted).
The whole "grounding" thing leads to a lot of... questions.
The first being "how do you bround a battlestar under water?". The two options I've thought of either create a tsunami, or kill the crew inside.
My favorite class of space ships of any IP.
I'd love to see you guys do stuff from the original Battlestar Galactica and the Arcadia from the Capt Harlock series
When did the ship crash?
I wonder if they'll release a viper mk II redesign/refit to match the shows variant too
I was rewatching blood and chrome Galactica is listed as Battlestar Galactica bs ( battle squadron 75 ) like pegasus. I assume its the flagship of more that one Battlestar group . Or a combined battle group i, with the mercury class pegasus admiral cain commanded pegasus two mark 2 Jupiter's 3 valkyrie and two escort carriers. ( berserk)
I personally think the Cylon should be ashamed of themselves for being denied victory by a 40 year old battlestar.
@@asvarien Don't forget arrogance. I can totally believe that the Cylons saw ships of war as 'beneath' them and too human.
If it were not for the doctrinal change of the Cylons, the Cylons would have won the war. They could have destroyed New Caprica in the first battle for it, leaving not enough humans behind to restart any sort of civilization.
That's what happens when you expect to destroy the mother of all bunkers using missile boats.
So Galactica was the first Jupiter complete, and then the first Jupiter refit. Kind of like how the Enterprise was the first Constitution launched and the first refit.
What’s with the engine layout in the schematics at 0:49? They look different.
What is the ship below in 2:47
Can u do the USS Argo from Godzilla king of the monsters pls it’s a really fascinating airship and carrier
Actually funny. We did a Star Trek Adventures game, with our ship being named USS Argo
Where did the like and subscribe outtro go?
Where did you find the information about the Galactic a crashing into the ocean?
developer insight - he's kind of the "official" youtuber for the game so obviously what he's saying in screen he's been told by the developers who've worked on the DLC, which will obviously included information about what happened with Galactica after Colonial Fleet left her behind during the in-game DLC campaign.
I thought that the Galactica had 24 heavy batteries and not 22 ( 8 forward under the "head", 8 on the spine and 8 and the belly ). Only a detail tho, good video still!
Why have I never heard about Galactica crashing into an ocean before? Where is this mentioned?
Hope the Proving Ground series isn’t over yet. Still got some capital and small craft to cover from Deadlock. LLAP
Shame we never got to see a fully loaded Jupiter class 2 in action.
And where in any show are you getting this information?
Why is Pegasus part of BSG-62 if BSG-75 came first?
I hope that Galactica with full weapons and armor will appear soon
I'm kind of disappointed that Resurrection apparently doesn't have any new smaller ships. (What I've read only lists the Jupiter II Battlestar and a new Cylon basestar plus a new strike craft squad for each fleet.) but hopefully that will be fixed soon.
How could someone dislike this?
I just discovered that the Jupiter Mark II has four sublight engines in the game, but in the series, Battlestar Galactica has 6 engines. Did it get a second refit?
This is so cool thank you Sir
Can't wait for this expansion
BSGD Sin and Sacrifice narrative: The Colonial Fleet is royally fucked
Also BSGD Sin and Sacrifice starmap: There's at least 20 Jupiters stationed per colony
>_>
The Mercury is bigger and powerful, but the weight the Jupiter class carries with its name, actions and service record is almost as heavy as the very planet it was named after.
Mercury class....it just doesn't have the same ring as Jupiter class
Any chance for more ?
Love the new opening graphics!
Still has the ribs of the remake. Meaning these ones are part-way through their decommissioning?
Wait, the Galactica is also the Jupiter 2?
mind = blown
Can you do the adamant frigate or arachne cruiser from battlestar galactica deadlock please?
Can you do the firefly transport next? It was technically in the Battlestar Galactica miniseries!
Retconing the third arm. Lol.
Um... is this part of the storyline of Galactica's war record in the game Deadlock? Because I sure as shit don't remember this in the series.
They never really got into the history of the Galactica in the series either though...
This was in the 12th year of the War so it's likely that Galactica was Refitted again.
is this part of the battlestar galactica deadlock story as well?
what is the base with the docked battlestar at the end?
It's from the Deadlock campaign story. In the game, they plucked Galactica out of an ocean after she went down and rebuilt her in secret. The base she is docked at there was during her refit, but it doesn't feature in the gameplay and is only seen in that still image through the campaign story narration.
If this is Mark II, does that mean Blood & Chrome's Galactica is Mark III?
Blood and Chrome is Caprica Hollywood. I wouldn't take it too seriously
Wish there was an "may I have more, please?" button ;-)
How many decks?
The only thing i don't like of the game is the spawn of extra cylons. 2 turns longer and I would not lose half my fleets to repetative spawns. 2 quick cylon ships navigate away in opposite directions and I can't chase them down and kill them before more come. Or initial spawns are so far away that a pair of Jupiters and support ships can't fight the 6 escorts and reach the 2 trailing basestars before the reinforcements arrive over and over.
Very well written prose!!
I always had a problem with the 3 support beams on the Jupiter Class ships in Deadlock. I don't even know why they heavily changed the original design of the Jupiter class. They should have just used the Blood & Chrome Jupiter class for continuity. all the other ship designs are great though.
I like the Artemis class too
Retrobuiton from call of duty?
Just a heads up the Galactica has 24 twin turrets, not 22.
Hope you do videos for the other deadlock ships
Plss do a breakdown on the victory ii class frigate from star wars battlefront 2 plsss
BSGD S2 hype.
You're not kidding!!!!!
I was seriously hoping to see more gun emplacements on the mark 2 variant like we see in Blood and Chrome. I'm guessing they will introduce the Valkyrie 'class' at the start of Season 3.
That's would of been cool the Galactica as brief as you see her in that show looked powerful af
Aw. So there's no Blood and Chrome version of the Galactica huh? A shame I guess.
I think they will do it but once they get to the late stages of the war.
@@steel12fire8 Nah. I doubt it will happen, considering in Razor they depict war time Jupiter the same as TV Series one ( Saving budget most likely).
Beside, Blood and Chrome version would be a nightmare to balance, considering shit ton of firepower it can bring. ;)
God I love this game so much.
Wait...OCEAN?
Still my favorite ship.
I need my ADHD medicine, so I can properly play Deadlock without trying to bounce to fifteen other things at once.
Strangely enough I have taken up watching BSG...
Wait she crashed into the ocean. Wha....!?
Crysis has some VTOL-s
and alien ships
"What do you hear"
"Nothing but the rain"
That, is one sexy spaceship.
Good video.thank you
Playable Pegasus please.
I'll say it again, I refuse ANY model of the Galactica that doesn't have a Blood and Chrome level of gun turrets. You can't expect me to properly murder toasters with those pansy-assed armaments!
