The cool thing about watching this battle is the fact that even with a colonial fleet surviving, despite the weight of numerous battleships, direct confrontations would still be a huge waste. We can't see how many base ships were deployed in this conflict; I assume it was the three that escort the resurrection ship. Nevertheless, the cost of losing a battleship, having others seriously or slightly damaged, especially when the Cylons can simply order more of them, only proves how futile Cain's and even Adama's actions would be before the Ragnar Anchorage. A war of attrition would be fatal for humanity.
This video has been a favorite of mine for a long time glad to see it again hope you do more work in the future friend and thank you for this work of art
Something I love dearly about thIs short is the emotion it conveys without ever saying a word or showing a face. The circumstances of the refugee fleet are immediately clear and grounded to anyone familiar with BSG, and witnessing the fleet in its full might in the beginning puts the Prometheus' desperation into full perspective in the final battle. The Hades' tactical FTL jump into the fight was obviously her attempt to save her sister ship, but she was just too late. Despite these particular Battlestars only appearing in this short, they still have the same presence and magnitude as the Galactica and Pegasus, which makes the Prometheus' loss feal almost apocalyptic.

@@alane8673 I found some battlestar schematics I think you'll like. Do you have a Gmail I can send it to?
@@alane8673 Keeping us waiting! This video's been living in my head for a long while now, bet Part 2 is going to be amazing
loved this vid ever since it was released long ago. I imagine this is what would've happened if the Colonials were aware of the attack. And something about ships with red lights just seem to scream danger for me
Adama wasn't the only commander in the fleet that the knew the networks on their ships were vulnerable......to the cylons :)
@@alane8673 Yeah, but by how the military structure goes, no matter how much you wanna object, you can't do anything if the ones that rank above you are incompetent
Красиво, рил круто. Не думал сериал реанимировать?)
Whats the source of this particular scene? I thought it was from Chrome and Blood but it was not.
When? My brother When? I have been waiting for almost 4 years.
Still rendering...but getting the sound right is the biggest issue atm to make it all fit....plus VFX commitments on other films makes it difficult too. Trying my best.
What a second part very cool that would be great
What is that super big battlestar with 4 flight pods?
Battlestar Titan....Flag Ship Of Battlestar Strike Group 68.
Its such a nice sight to see this video again, and nice to have the original creator back.
I was always curious, what is the name of that double-flight pod Battlestar? It looks like it says 'Titan' but I can't really see the name that well. Is that just the induvidual ship name, or are all the ships of that type called Titan-class? (Like how the Pegasus is a Mercury-class and Galactica a Jupiter-class)
The Battlestar Titan is one of 8 armistice border vessels, tasked to patrol the the armistice border zone, of the colonys. Similar to Star trek's neutral zone. The Battlestar Titan is a Saturn Class Vessel, a Super Heavy Carrier with immense long range firepower, and well over 600 fighter aircraft. This vessel can easily take out 6 or more Basestars in a single battle. It is over 2400 mtrs in length. It is part of the Cronus group of Battlestars.
:)
Bro plz pin the comment you mentioned that you are making another film, so other people see this!
Waitttt is that a Nova or is it a different model of Mercury
Damn you're still alive?!
Still kicking....had my fill of star trek and star wars....time for Battlestar again.
Please helpme... where are this?..... Battlestar galactica?.. but.... chapter please...
I'm pretty sure Alan E made it, himself.
WOW
is that a mercury class with extra flight pods?
Not even close.....
so what is it?@@alane8673
it profile kind of remind me both the Valkyrie and Mercury. It looks much bigger and bulkier tho. Probably can withstand more damage. Plus, those big guns look awesome, melting that basestar lol
What type/ship class is the ship with the quad flight pods at 1:45? Anyone?
The Titan class Battlestar
Updates?
One of the many Battlestars for the new film.....and it's no Mercury class.

I have tons of build shots in full detail if anyone can point me to a forum to post the images on.
Maybe r/BSG?
@@nathanielbielawski936 Not reddit...lol.
Is Alan Elder the same guy who posted this 13 years ago? ua-cam.com/video/qfBHDBtMFs8/v-deo.html
Not canon. First cylon war the Cylons used the circular baseships, the star shape didn't come about until they wiped the colonies out.
BSG
this is why the Cylons had to use the coward virus they feared the mighty BattleStars
