Went to UA-cam, Baron Pilot. Saw new video… O’boy. Saw it was 27 minutes. Didn’t have that much time so thought I would just watch a little. I was wrong. Did have that much time. Watched the whole thing. Couldn’t turn it off. Great flight, great airplane.
Please forgive grammar. Got all excited.
Glad you enjoyed it and that it kept your attention 😊
Great video, great conversation, with two really nice guys.
Not only did I buy Kevin's Eclipse 500 a few months ago, but I also just bought a new set of his Jet Shades. He's a great guy and sells a great product. Tell him I like his new Cirrus and wish him all the best. Love your videos as well.
Yes he is! I will pass it along and thank you for watching.
wow, congrats.
I flew a Cirrus for the 1st in Santa Monica...Fun Airplane!!
YES... Chase/Pursue your dream don't wait like I did and get a PPL at 60!
Good convos in the cockpit
That Gen 3 SR22 is beautiful !
Yeah, baby! Great engaging video that never loses energy from start to finish! Seamless editing, great cockpit repartee and quick cuts to panel, ground and airplane views keep us riveted the whole way with never any temptation to hit that big bad "X" in the corner. Especially fun was Kevin's reaction when you sprang the idea of the Jet Shades on him...he looked like the firm's cost accountant at first, but then the better angels of his nature took over and he was in for the deal...this part was hilarious and much more spontaneous than Steveo's latest giveaways , which have become a little canned. Keep up the great work and to summarize, Bravo! Give us more!
Thank you for the kind words and positive feedback. I’m always striving for improvement.
Hey Baron Pilot! Wow, Small world.... That's my old Cirrus that I sold to Kevin this past fall when I purchased a newer SR22 G5. It was N812MT, I had it changed to N612MT so I could keep my same N number for my G5. That was was a great plane, and sure do miss it after seeing it on You Tube.
Wow that is a small world!!! Congratulations on your new airplane. Where are you based?
@@BaronPilot Sorry for the delayed response, I was down and out for a few days...
(N13), A real small airport located in central Pennsylvania.... Stop by sometime :) .
Thanks for posting the video, I was just browsing for some Multi-Engine training videos when I happen to catch the tail number on a preview. I was shocked to see my old plane.... That was a great plane, and looks like it went to a good home!
Let Kevin know I'm still waiting for my set of Jet Shades for my G5.....
Thanks again for the video post, let me know if you want to check out a Cirrus Accelero!
What is that?
Accelero is just an all digital, special edition SR22T G5. Not to many were made, see link;
cirrusaircraft.com/accelero/
Awesome video, Awesome Conversation on board..... Loved watching the Aileron & Elevator deflections on landing...... Great production Thanks!!!
Thanks!
Great flight in the Cirrus SR-22 Turbo. You are the ultimate P.T.Barnum. Fleeced the owner out a pair of jet shades for your giveaway. If I didn't know better, I would characterize you as a great salesman! He seemed like a great guy and was more than amenable to make the donation. His flying career went in reverse. An Eclipse Jet back to a single engine Cirrus turbo. It really doesn't matter how you do it but the result is what counts. I hope you at least treated him to a nice lunch for his generosity!!
We got our Jet Shades. Had to do all the templates for them, so it took a bit longer for the process. We are very pleased with the product and ultimately since it was winter, the delay wasn't that big of a deal. If it wasn't for your previous videos we wouldn't have gotten them.
Then I am really glad you enjoy them!
great video. that plane is beautiful, and jet shades - what a cool concept. Just shows American ingenuity at work. Kudos on that invention.
Nice placement of your cameras especially on the wing. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching
Very enjoyable. Thank You. Nice interaction between the two of you. Agree with your sentiment: Follow your dream. It's my biggest regret not doing that, to pursue an aviation career.
Did a search for a SR22 and found this vid. What a great video, I really appreciate the dialogue. Awesome aircraft and awesome pilots enjoying the miracle of flight.
Thanks for watching
Great video. Beautiful VFR weather and SR22. Thanks Baron Pilot.
Great video. Fun chemistry with you guys!
Great video, brought a smile in my face to see and listen to both of you, very enjoyable. Beautiful Cirrus, it's like a Cadillac in auto car world.
This was a great, enjoyable video. Beautiful Cirrus, the JetShades look great, and it was a gorgeous day to fly with a fellow pilot who is modest about his aviation accomplishments.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching.
I just realised I remember this guy! I worked the line at KOQU a few years ago and remember his Eclipse, especially when it came back from paint! Small world!
Very small world.
What an affable gentleman Kevin is. At 25:00 in the video, it's REALLY apparent how well Jet Shades work with the camera. I'm not sure how it was with the naked eye, but there was quite a reduction in glare and sunshine from the front window to the side window.
If I owned an airplane, I would certainly have a set of Jet Shades installed. Great product.
Thank you both for taking us along.
Kris, when are you going to talk a little bit more about your 135 stuff? Not even the owner, etc., but just some generic basics.
It’s coming. Most likely in a future video when I’m flying the Baron.
That was a fun video to watch. Kevin seems to be a real character- could not find what he wanted so he made it himself and created a company. Entrepreneurial mindset; gotta love it.
Baron Pilot, P1D, Steveo. 3 posters I always hit the like button before I watch the video because I know they are going to epic!
Great video BP. Kevin was great to fly with, and is a good sport to join in your give away. Out here in Arizona he could market to auto owners too.
It is a great product
Great video and a fun back and forth conversation. I like those shades wouldn’t mind having something like that in the car.
Next collaboration may be with Niko? Safe travels.
Man, those things are sweet! Niko of Niko's Wings just picked up a similar one, as I'm sure you know - from where I'm sitting, it seems like the Ferrari of the skies. Great performance and handling.
Sounds like Kevin is from around my neck of the woods (MA) ... "right ruddah" ... 😁 Great flight, Kris - thanks for taking us along on this one!
There may be a Niko video coming soon 😉. And he is from MA. As always, thanks for watching.
@@BaronPilot - Ahh good to know about Niko! I'm way behind on my UA-cam vids - got alot of catching up to do. Work always gets in the way!
I recognized Kevin's accent - sounded too familiar. 😁
Nice looking Cirrus Kevin! Those jet shades look incredible! Will need to get an airplane first and then a set of those. Safe flying!
This was a great video. Hope Jetshades starts making product for more aircraft types
Hi Baron Pilot, we almost have the same story. Growing up, I wanted to be an airline pilot. I started flying in 1995. After I graduated, high school in 1997, I was going to go to a flight training school. Unfortunately, I went to A&P school. I never worked as a mechanic. In August 2001, I got my Pilot License and was going to pursue my dream to become an airline pilot, then 9/11 happened. I went into Information technology. As of now I have my PPL, IFR, MEL and have my CXL check ride next year. I also got hired as an A&P to work on Cessna and Beechcraft Jets. I hope to purchase Cirrus SR22-T soon.
NEVER stop pursuing your dream!
Great video, loved it when you put Kevin on the spot, he obviously knew about your giveaways!
I once flew a 1937 Piper that had the fuel tank right in front of the wind shield. The filler cap was in clear view and there was a piece of stiff wire that stuck up threw a hole in the cap. It was bent at the end so the wire wouldn't fall down into the tank. The end that was inside the tank had a cork attached. This was the fuel gauge. When the tank was full the wire stuck up about six or eight inches. When it was empty the wire didn't stick up at all.
Judging by the instrument panel in that Cirrus, I would say we have come a long way.
Now that’s a fool proof gauge! That would have been cool.
A fascinating video. What a clever entrepreneur and engineer your friend is. That Cirrus is a sweet ride. Lovely.
Great video! Love those Jetshades! Cool product!
I flew this plane during a discovery flight. Loved it
You looked much more relaxed in the right seat of the Cirrus then when you flying in the right seat of Premier Jet.
Baron pilot, would love to hear more about your story! I find out in 2.5 weeks if I get my pilot slot in the AF! Love the videos!
Excited to hear regardless of outcome.....did you get your slot?
Great to watch the videos and learn about Jet Shades! Going to the website as I write for a set for my Columbia 350 (No A/C). Thanks guys!
Great video . It was great hearing Kevin's story about how he got started learning how to fly . I like his plane . Is it the same turbo model as the new one Nikos Wings just got ? Baron Pilot did you ever get to go in the Air Force at when you were younger . I served in the Air Force from 18 August ' 71 to 25 May ' 75 . I was 20 when I was sworn in & I had just turned 24 6 days before I was discharged .
Glad you enjoyed it. No I never did. One of my many regrets 😒 thank you for your service.
Got a chance to fly an almost identical G3 Turbo in 2012. Awesome airplane!
I hope to fly it more. It was nice.
Hey Baron,
I am a Cirrus pilot and I thought I might mention something you could pass on to your friend.
In the beginning of the video when he transitions to auto pilot in the climb he says he puts it in “vertical speed mode”.
You are not supposed to climb in vertical speed mode because you risk a stall. The autopilot will try to maintain that vertical speed in the climb regardless of attitude and airspeed. Hence the potential for a stall.
Cirrus teaches to climb in “indicated airspeed mode” and descend in “vertical speed mode”
I am not trying to be “that guy” but never hurts to look out for one of our own!
Great video, thank you and Take Care!
I was taught to climb in IAS and descend in VS but I know some people teach initial climb in VS until the airspeed slows to your cruise climb speed then switching over. Personally, I don’t do it that way but I understand the thought process.
True VS mode is a little more dangerous given it will climb at a rate rather than an IAS speed. But in a Cirrus SR22T one should always be climbing at full throttle and full rich so as long as you keep the rate of climb below 800fpm you can do it without concern.
Great video Mr.Baron pilot
Thanks for the video; enjoyed the ride!
What a neat little aircraft; thanks for the video.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks for such an enjoyable vid. 27min bliss!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Thank's Baron Pilot. Please tell me how this plane compares to the Columbia 300/400. Thanks. Mark. ( We met last September 30, in PGD.)
As you may be able to tell, but the Cirrus is my favorite single engine aircraft, period.. Thnx for the vlog and Kevin for his story... By the way, I did not hear, "You have the controls" , "I have the controls"...
I assure you I said it. There was so much content in this video I was struggling to cut as much as I could to keep the length down. This video easily could have been an hour.
Jet Shades is one of those long over do products especially for low wing planes. I would like a set for my front driver & passenger windows on my Toyota Highlander.
Thanks BP, that is a beautiful bird.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Beautiful Plane
Will do, this thursday i should be going on my first flight training. Thats thursday 21, 2019
I completely understand the "What If" mindset....I wish I had buckled down with school, got my degree and made that effort to fly fighters in the military. I just didn't have the discipline in my youth to hit the books. While I still spent 7 years in the Air National Guard, I didn't come around to realizing I had to get my education to qualify for what the military was looking for. But it's too easy to get sucked into the Funk of Regret. The past is the past. The future is what you make of it. Me? I'm a typical AOPA Rusty Pilot, I'm doing my Sporty's videos and enrolled in aviation science classes at the University I work at. It's not the path I envisioned I would be on....but I'm taking advantage of what's available and I can afford! 🙂
I bought the Sportys “tapes” and watched them All before I ever took. Single flight.
Baron Pilot tapes! We're showing our age...VHS or BETA MAX? 😀
VHS. I don’t think Sporty’s ever releases them in Beta.
Really enjoyed your video
Jet Shades is a great product the cockpit look like they're sitting under a shady tree on a sunny day.
Great video I learned so much
Glad you enjoyed it
Love your videos -- We gotta hit Donavan's one of your trips to KSGJ! They gotta great burger!
Sounds like a plan
Cool airplane, 3 thumbs up!!
This is one of your better vids. Relatively uneventful flight but the dialog with Kevin was great. He seems like a nice guy and fun to listen to. Jet Shades are cool .
Thanks!
Nice video, boy if your friend was able to produce Jet Shades for the Diamond DA40, an aircraft known for it hot-house qualities, there'd sure be a lot of grateful pilots. :)
So I am happy to say he does have some coming for the DA-40 coming out in 2 weeks!
That is a beautifully designed aircraft.
Agreed.
Hi Baron. Love fly this plane.... Greetings from Patrick LFPO
I could get use to flying it.
Cool friend. It would be interesting to know why he went back the Cirrus and gave up the Eclipse, or does he have both? He didn’t really say why he made that transition.
I believe it had something to do with building the jet shade business. I’m sure he will be buying another jet at some point.
Hey great video, just a quick question, what kind of suction cup did you use for the wing shoots as well as the windshield shoots ? Thanks, greetings from Mexico.
No suction cups. Actually mounted to the surface.
How is the comfort level in legroom and shoulder room compared to the Baron.
😆 Lol, Let me turn off your headset, as you said jokingly. Nice video as always. I start my flight training again at flight school over at executive at bravo 5.
Awesome!!! Keep me updated on your progress
Nice video Sir!
If possible could you get more specs for us nerds? Fuel burn, what altitudes does the plane normally fly and speeds/ burn at those numbers.
Really enjoyed the video. Thanks for the great content and please stay safe!
Bill in Utah
Ps: must have missed the info on the part 135 stuff?
Did Kevin mention why he moved back to the Cirrus from the Eclipse? Maybe operating costs? Thanks!
Was wondering the same thing myself. He did say he got into flying for business and was using the first Cirrus & the jet for that purpose. Maybe he retired or no longer travels as much for business??
Awesome video and awesome plane. Thank you very much for sharing. I have a short question: on your first bank when you started hand flying you were told to keep the "ball" centered for a coordinated turn. I thought though that was the yaw damper`s job and if I remember right the SR22 has it so I am a little bit confused. Any help with this issue will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for sharing.
Great question. I’m not completely familiar with that autopilot but I believe the YD disconnected because of how I disconnected the AP. If i was flying it regularly, I would have the YD on.
@@BaronPilot Thank you very much for your very quick answer. Please keep posting and fly safe
The YD or Yaw Damper disengages when you disengage the auto-pilot. But it is also possible to make slightly out of ball turns in the Cirrus without an issue.
@@gbigsangle3044 Thank you very much for your response. It makes a lot of sense.
Great video, thanks! Could you detail the GoPro wing mount you used in this video? H5!
My surface mount is from FlightFlix.net. Only surface mounts I would use.
I wish had an aircraft or personally knew someone who does so I could get on that list to win some great swag, Christopher. But alas, the only pilots I know (follow) are you, Greg, Steveo and Glenn Hancock. I had a chance to learn to fly many years (and many more pounds) ago when I was doing my lineman duties at KMQJ. At that time my brother had a C-170 and if I had taken the time (to do a good job) to wash the plane I might have gotten some flight time in it with him or a CFI. But I was heavy into Road Motorcycling and flying was just a luxury I couldn't afford. This was back in the late 1980's. Silly me!
Any PIREP on that MT 4 bladed prop?
How long will the Barron be out of commission getting new engines.
Could you please detail pricing for standard aircraft?
Used prices can vary. A brand new one is over $900k
Hi, please what's the name of the big river just before landing , is it the Mississipi ? I think you didn't land in Florida .
St Johns River

@@BaronPilot tnx from Alain
Yes, if you have a strong desire to do something, find a way to get it done. I'm now in my 60s and I have daily regret that I did not get my pilots license.
Was able to click the 1000th like on this video!
When I saw a Cirrus, I thought you may be with @NikosWings. Coming up soon?
Stay tuned 😉
what watches are you guys wearing?
Not sure what Kevin is wearing. I am wearing an invicta.
tint on the plane = awesome! lol
I hit the like button to get you to 1k cheers.
Beautiful aircraft. You got him lol
Didn't like the cessna, bought a cirrus, then I bought a jet. Then I learned how to fly the jet. Very nice story.
I thought you guys would like his story.
Normies: Use noise cancelling headset to block out airplane noise on commercial flights.
Me, an intellectual: Use noise-cancelling headphones in office to listen to Cirrus engine noise.
Great video though.
Recommendation: more variety in content of videos, and see not always two people chatting on a plane
When you say more variety, what are you referring to?
@@BaronPilotI am referring to other issues in the world of aviation, for example: Aeronautical exhibitions, security aviation, commercial aviation, aeromodelling, etc
should of done it with niko wings!
If you followed me on Instagram you would have some insight. 😉
You have to hook up with Niko’s Wings now
BEE -YOU-T-FULL!
Wish I could read the rest of that label: ? AIRPLANE ? [M]ANEUVERS ? APPROVED
Could be acrobatic maneuvers not approved.
Smooth AF :’(
ok, where is Lucy?
Great VID...enjoyed the flight! I will have to check out the Jet Shades website now! :-) Don
