    Wow, those are fabulous! I especially love the little spinet desk, and I'm really glad you were able to flip them all quickly and at a good profit. I would be so tempted to keep them ALL for myself! BTW, that green wall behind you in the first frame is lovely, so fresh-looking. Could you tell me what paint that is?

      Thanks Charlene! The problem is I usually want to keep them all 😂 Yes, it’s a great green. It’s Hollingsworth Green by Benjamin Moore. 🙌🏼

    This was a fabulous video! I learned so much. The main thing being we don’t always have to strip to bare wood and then go from there. I love your term gentle restoration. That’s going to be my focus on my next piece if it qualifies. Thank you again.

    excellent idea....i actually was thinking to buy pieces from estate sales for painting but never though to just restore them...

      You buy a little more at estate sales, but the pieces are nicer and the profit margin is usually higher 😊

    forget brass and polishing...TIP>>>> use bars keepers cleaner...how to use it... in a container, add water calculating to just cover the hardware with water (no need to use a half gallon of water nor to boil it) just a little above the hardware , place two tablespoons of cleaner.. that is if are only a couple of pieces...if you are cleaning more than 6 pieces add xtra two tablespoons of cleaner...mix the water, add the hardware, let it sit for no less than a hour, take it out and with a brush clean it up...repeat as need it..(for me only takes one time) this process leaves the brass shining and with less efford...good luck

      I normally use BKF for big batches of hardware, but I like this approach for a smaller amount too 🙌🏼

      @ivylaneinteriors  Місяць тому

      I think if you have a signature look and style that totally makes sense. I am not an artist in that respect. I love to refinish pieces, but I usually keep an eye on resell value for the business side of things

      I understand that, mine isn’t a full business, I care for my autistic son at home so I only do it slowly and exactly what I want, more a wonderful hobby, had I got into it younger then I certainly would have made it more a business. Im doing my daughter s table for a second time. Now she’s moved to a period flat. So I’m kept busy. You restore the wood that a great skill. I’m in the UK

    I have a question maybe you can help me with if you plz. How do u figure weight for shipping on etsy? tyia

    • @ivylaneinteriors
      @ivylaneinteriors  3 місяці тому

      I use a scale made for large items. You can lay the piece down on the scale and the weight reader is attached to a cord that pulls out so you can read the scale. There are also rough estimates on the internet too.
