Your entire catalog of videos are so incredibly satisfying and informational, and I just want to take a moment to offer sincere thanks and appreciation for all you do. Not only is your body of work phenomenal, but the way you bring us along for the journey from start to finish is amazing. Not only do you have the skills to transform/restore/revitalize/refresh, but you do so in a way that is so welcoming and humble. I applaud your willingness to admit that you are still working to learn more like so many others and you bring us along for the journey with a willing heart for us to learn right along with you. Your work is free of all the "if you know you know" condescension, and it's far and away a breath of fresh air in this chalk paint and transfers "paint it and sell it for a profit" mentality. I've learned so much from you and I am sincerely grateful for the hours of enjoyment and learning that you offer to any of us fortunate enough to stumble across your amazing channel. Words cannot express how much skill; humility and personality you bring to the furniture flipping community and for that, I offer my humble gratitude and appreciation for everything you share with us. This project, like so many others you offer on this platform, was amazing and I look forward to each and every offering with the hope that you continue to share your furniture flipping world with all of us. Thank you Lisa!
I’m definitely not disappointed that you painted it. There was really no alternative, you did everything you could to keep it wood but ran out of options. I’m glad that you were able to save it with paint. And, now it will be enjoyed by someone for years and years. Once again, I learned something new from you by watching the video. I’ve never used that DAP product but now I have another “tool” in my flipping tool box arsenal. Keep the videos coming, I love them all!
Thanks so much for your feedback. 🙌🏼 I love trying new products and then sharing them. I liked it painted too. Not my first choice, but it will definitely be enjoyed for years to come
I am not a restorer or a flipper..... I watch for entertainment and learning new things. First, even with painting, you did an amazing job. I like me to see the wood but I do understand why you made the choices you made. Second, THANK YOU for NOT playing elevator or any other kind of music while you were in fast motion or quietly working. You will never know how much of a change it is for me to watch with joy. Last.... How in the world do you keep perfect fingernails during your process?
Thank you! I tried music in the beginning, but I just didn't like it. I much prefer ambient sound. Ha, I don't know! They have just always been super strong.
Oh my gosh! You really stuck with the process and made that campaign chest look fabulous! I might have given up at the part where you filled in the wood grain. Thank you, too, for actually showing the sanding after the first coat of paint. It definitely is necessary to get the right finish.
I love this piece painted! That wallpaper in the drawer is fabulous. Thanks for showing how to sharpen your scraper. I also liked how you tape off edges for bondo, and how you use the spot putty and grain filler. Filling the grain really made the smooth paint finish more high end.
Looks fabulous! When you can save a piece of furniture it doesn’t matter to me if it is painted. It turned out beautiful. You always do such good work and it does look high end!
I'm not usually a fan of painting quality veneer, but this piece needed it, and the black is gorgeous. I hope the buyer appreciates the extra trouble of lining the drawers.
I personally love that you went with the black paint😊😊. I didn't really like the veneer grain pattern, you truly made it a high end piece😊😊thanks for sharing with us
Wowza! She is absolutely stunning! What a bummer about the water marks, but because work is top-notch, painting it was your only option. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Beautiful --Black with gold hardware is just stunning! Thanks for sharing the drama! I rarely use drawer liners -- I've removed too many 30 year drawer liners with hair dryers -- sticks like concrete!
Looks great. I honestly thought the wood looked terrible and painting it was the right choice. I'm always impressed by how much care you give your pieces.t
You have a great channel. I have learned a few new tips from you. I am going to get some OSMO and that product you use from Mohawk. Keep those videos coming!
Fabulous! And thank you for the carbide scraper tutorial….I needed it. 🤦♀️. That dresser is pure sexy and gorgeous. I love wood, but I think it’s even more beautiful as it turned out than if it remained wood. Thanks for another great video Lisa.
I have a lot of respect for your decision and I enjoy your Chanel so much. But I'm wondering if you would have considered layering a new vaneer on top to increase. I know veneer is expensive but the increase in profit has me interested in aking.😊
Well, I considered it, but it’s unusual wood and it would be difficult to source a new veneer. Also, it’s a waterfall edge so the sides would have to be considered too. At that point, a high end paint job was my preferred choice. 🙌🏼
i love how this turned out, that black paint against the gold really pops! im trying to explore other paints but find my self afraid to use anything other than quality furniture paints. how durable is this paint in your opinion?
It’s better than any paint I’ve used so far. I know someone who rolls it, but it dries so fast I think it’s better sprayed. One hour recoat time, no topcoat needed, dries rock hard. I’ve only used it twice, but I’m super impressed!
Love the finished product! 🎉 Question: when you spray, it looks like there is texture. Does that just naturally go away when it dries? Curious as I’m going to attempt to start spraying as I’m tired of dealing with brush and roller marks. (Also impressed with your beautiful nails! Mine look like I’ve been digging in rocks and paint by the time I’m done )😅
Thank you! Yes, it lays down as it dries. Sanding between coats helps too. I love spraying! Ha! I’ve been trying to wear gloves more to protect my hands and that seems to help. 😊💅🏼
I could, but yes, expensive and it’s an unusual wood species. I’m not sure I could find it. I’d also have to consider the sides because it’s a waterfall edge.
It’s a beautiful piece and I like it but for me personally I think it’s too much gold. I would’ve left off the little brackets in the center and just use the ones on each end. To each his own.
That was an option, but this is a unique wood grain and sourcing a matching veneer would be difficult and pricey. There is a waterfall edge so I would also have to consider the sides as well. At the end of the day, it just wasn’t worth it. I can still get a decent profit from a painted piece. We’ll see 🤷♀️
I think that “grain” is a fake surface. Too regular. That’s why it disappeared as you sanded down. Don’t know if the piece came that way from the factory or if it was the work of the previous refinished. Either way, no reasonable choice but to paint
Having to pay that much of a premium and then having to try and fill in all that wood grain... lol... I would have probably set it on fire and found another hobby.
I know that I’m being petty, however, you should know that the word, “ACROSS” is not pronounced,”Acrost”!! Drives me nuts!!! You’re an intelligent woman, why?
I really like how you share your flips and flops and the solutions for the challenging pieces. The piece turned out beautiful, as usual :)
You are so welcome! Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼

Well, this is the kindest comment I’ve ever received. I appreciate your feedback and the time it took to type it out. It means a lot to me. 🤩🫶

I absolutely love, love, love it black! With the gold hardware…just stunning! Beautiful work as always, Lisa!!
Aw, thanks Natalie! 🤩
Not disappointed for sure. You had no other choice. You did a beautiful job. It took so much extra effort but you rocked it. Way to go.
Thanks so much, sometimes you just gotta roll with the punches!

Thank you and yes, such an important part!
I love this piece painted! That wallpaper in the drawer is fabulous. Thanks for showing how to sharpen your scraper. I also liked how you tape off edges for bondo, and how you use the spot putty and grain filler. Filling the grain really made the smooth paint finish more high end.
I was pleased with the final product. Grain fill is definitely more time consuming, but the finish is so good! Thanks Heidi!
Thank you for being so real. I'm about to use a sprayer for the first time on my granddaughter's desk, and you've taken some of the fear out
I hope it goes well! Spraying is so satisfying 😊🙌🏼
Looks fabulous! When you can save a piece of furniture it doesn’t matter to me if it is painted. It turned out beautiful. You always do such good work and it does look high end!
Thanks Maureen! I really try 😊🙌🏼
The black looks a little better than the wood in this instance 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I agree 🖤🙌🏼
Sorry you had problems, but in the end,it turned out absolutely gorgeous!! Well done!! I love the black paint!! Classy!
Thanks Arlene! I think it looks classy too 🤩🖤
I'm not usually a fan of painting quality veneer, but this piece needed it, and the black is gorgeous. I hope the buyer appreciates the extra trouble of lining the drawers.
It was kinda sad it was in such rough shape. 😥 Yes, I think she did 😊
I personally love that you went with the black paint😊😊. I didn't really like the veneer grain pattern, you truly made it a high end piece😊😊thanks for sharing with us
Thanks so much, Michelle! I think it’s high end too 🤩🖤
You have done a great job, I congratulate you. Best regards.
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
I cannot tell you how many times I have had to pivot on my intended direction for a piece. This piece is completely lovely!
Seems like every piece has at least one pivot 😊 Thanks! 🤩
Great save.💜 I hate buying & finding huge disappointments. You did a fabulous job
It was a big disappointment 😥 Thank you. 😊
Pivoting resulted in a Beautiful, sophisticated dresser, definitely high-end great work Lisa love it ❤
Aw, thanks Annie!! 🤩🙌🏼
Wowza! She is absolutely stunning! What a bummer about the water marks, but because work is top-notch, painting it was your only option. Thank you so much for sharing!!
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼 🖤
I hate that you couldn't keep it wood, but the alternative is GORGEOUS!! 😍👍👍👍👍👍
Me too 😢 Thank you! 😊
It turned out beautifully. Very regal looking.
Thank you! I agree 🖤
I like the painted version--it's sexy! It now has a Hollywood Regency vibe.
I completely agree 🖤🤩
Not disappointed. As usual you did a fabulous job.
Aw, thanks Debbie! 🙌🏼🤩
You did an AMAZING JOB! Your hard work definitely paid off! I ❤️ it!!!
Aw, thanks so much! 🙌🏼😊
Not all of them can be restored! You did a beautiful job as usual, Lisa 👏👏
Aw, thanks Amy!! I didn’t know you were on here. I’ll go give you a sub 🙌🏼😊
It looks amazing! Benjamin Moore command paint is a game changer! I just started using it and wow! It’s expensive, but worth every penny!
The one hour recoat time is the biggest thing for me. Plus it dries so hard. I’ve been super impressed!
@@ivylane-home same! Not to mention fully cured in 24 hours!
I love the “can I talk” whisper lol.
Ha! My kids love to come chat when I’m working. They are older and in and out of the house with different schedules, but they love a good chat 😊

All that filling…I’ve been there and it’s grueling. You persevered and the final results are stunning.
Aw, thanks Betty!
Oh, it’s fabulous! Worth the effort, I say! Really beautiful.
Thank you so much!
Boy you really went the mile with this piece! I must say I wasn’t sure at first but man you did an awesome job! It is beautiful! Great job! Love it! ❤
Many thanks, Marilyn! A lot of work to get there, but like the end product too! 🙌🏼
I have to try that tape on the corner when filling in trick on a project im working on. Struggling a bit with that part. Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
It works like a charm! You can also clamp wood over the tape for more definition
I love your attention to detail.
Aw, thank you! 🫶
What a pain in the arse!!! Beautiful end result
Indeed! Thank you! 😊
The black and gold looks so good together
Right?! Such a classic combo 🖤
I LOVE the paint job!!! Fabulous work!!

Thanks Kay! 🤩

Looks beautiful! I really like the all wood interior drawer, but you have the knowledge about your buyer's market. Thanks for sharing.
It’s funny, people love the drawer liners especially on painted pieces 🤷♀️
A chic little black dress out of a shabby dirndl
For sure! 🤩🖤
Fabulous! And thank you for the carbide scraper tutorial….I needed it. 🤦♀️. That dresser is pure sexy and gorgeous. I love wood, but I think it’s even more beautiful as it turned out than if it remained wood. Thanks for another great video Lisa.

I love the colorful painting on the wall in the Reveal. Who is the artist?
I love it too! It’s not a special artist piece. I’ve had it for years.
So so sooo good

Great work. It kind of gives it an Asian look with the black gold contrast. I might have added some gold legs, just to bring it all together.
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼

WOW!
Thanks! 😊

Could you add another new vénérer? Is it too expensive?
I could, but yes, expensive and it’s an unusual wood species. I’m not sure I could find it. I’d also have to consider the sides because it’s a waterfall edge.
It’s a beautiful piece and I like it but for me personally I think it’s too much gold. I would’ve left off the little brackets in the center and just use the ones on each end. To each his own.
Oh gosh, can you ever have too much gold?! 🤭☺️🥹
Does the jb filler have a longer working time than the bondo?
Sadly, no. 😕
Did you do a top coat on this dresser?
Nope, no topcoat necessary or recommended with Command paint. It is used in industrial settings
@@ivylane-home great, thank you.
Personally, I think it looks better this way
Aw, thank you!
Why not just replace the top veneer? It would be worth it for the prices you say you can get for wood pieces.
That was an option, but this is a unique wood grain and sourcing a matching veneer would be difficult and pricey. There is a waterfall edge so I would also have to consider the sides as well. I’m not sure. I could see sanding swirls under the paint so I know someone had tried to refinish it at some point. 🤷♀️
Having to pay that much of a premium and then having to try and fill in all that wood grain... lol... I would have probably set it on fire and found another hobby.

You need to learn how to spray properly. Find a better liner.
