    It's too late and doesn't matter in a way, but that small lever that goes either horizontal or vertical is the position control and the large lever that raises and lowers is the draft control.

      ua-cam.com/video/SCv3Ihn10_k/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared I hope this helps, my real problem is linkage that is worn, there's a pin that slides through a slot in the metal plate, the pin is broken off and by it being short causes it to hang in the movement. This was the only time this happened, I polished it so it would move more freely.

    Hey man, i rebuilt the whole pump assembly on my 8n and it worked good for 3 or 4 days and now it hangs in the up position.

      I'm not sure what to tell you other than it sounds like one of the valves on the pump is sticking, the one where the shaft from the top cover goes in on the pump, I have seen that one stick before causing that problem. You can take the inspection cover off and check it out, work the position lever up and down to see if the valve is going in and out. My tractor is a 1952, it only has one rod going to the pump. The older ones have a yolk system connecting it to the pump but works similar. I hope you get it fixed, keep in touch, I wish I could be more helpful.

    There are some rods inside that probably got bent.

      I can just about guess which one, that dog leg rod that goes from draft control spring to the position control lever, it's made flimsy, I wonder if it couldn't be reworked with a grade 8 bolt or if it's flimsy for a reason. It was bent when we tore it down last spring, fixing it made plowing so much better

    I am very new to tractors and recently bought a 1964 Ford 3000 SOS. Being new to tractors i didn't know how the 3pt lift was actually suppose to work. My tractor does basically this exact same thing. I have 2 posistions, either all the way up, or all the way down. Wondering if this is the same problem I am having.

      Hi there, under the seat on the right side there's a lever that is called draft control, the other lever between the seat and fender is implement control, I'm not sure which way the draft control lever should be, but one position is draft control and the other is position control. If it's in draft control all you will have is up and down, no in between, position control you can stop the lift in different positions between up and down, I hope this helps, if moving that lever doesn't change it there's something worn or broken on the cover, check out Dan and Rachel Gingell ford 3000 top lift cover repair.

    Did you put on leather o ring with the rubber I ring ?

    • @1972BRJ
      @1972BRJ  2 роки тому

      Yes but I'm not really sure how much good it will do, it seemed flimsy and as the oil hit it I think it stretched it some and it broke down to, the old ones from Ford back in the day were a lot more stiff compared to what you get today. It's actually supposed to be a "wiper" to clean the cylinder during travel.
      Thanks for watching!

      Yes as you probably already know sub soiler pulls in the middle where’s a blade pulls from the side . I also done damage to 1020 like that but GOD helped me fix it!
