The actual skeleton has no given size in game, what is given is that what is available is around 1/3rd of the skeleton, and using the models we can estimate what we have in game as a little over 400 metres in length, leading to a full estimate of around 1.2 kilometres. all the information about it being a baby and adults being 5 kilometres long comes from a mod called return of the ancients that for some reason a ton of people have mistaken for canon.

THAT IS THE ADULT GARG, as there is another skull in the lost river that is smaller, and is confirmed to be the juvenile. Those two get mixed up constantly, leading to the mod that adds the garg speculating its adult size to 5km, which is not the actual size, meaning that an adult gargantuan leviathan measures up to 1500 meters, which is still massive.
to clear up more speculations, the smaller one is in fact a juvenile, while the larger one is not an adult as adults have no growth limit. Assuming a garg has an infinite food source and lots of time it will grow infinitely

The skeleton in-game is around 500 meters long, but when it's scanned, the entry in the PDA says it's an incomplete fossil, being about a third of the length of a complete one, so a full gargantuan leviathan fossil would be around 1,500 meters long. What the entry does not say is that the fossil is of a juvenile leviathan that's much smaller than an adult, nor does it say that it can keep growing forever; both of those "facts" are from the mod.
Nope. The Garg in the Bone Fields is about 400m long. The PDA suggests that this is the front third of the creature. That puts it at 1200. If you count the 100m long skull in the front third, that bumps it up to 1500m long.

I don’t think that’s true. You can see multiple krakens, the one in The Sunken Pearl tall tale (may have gotten the name wrong), you can see hundreds of kraken corpses scattered around the Sea of Thieves. They are near extinction due to the fact the Old Mother was one of the few that could have children and now is gone, presumably starved to death due to the fact she was chained. There’s a lot of krakens, not just one, and based on the amount of kraken corpses we see there are probably a lot more or another Old Mother left, I’d presume the former. My point was that krakens seem to want to die there for some reason, which could likely be two reasons, one, the mysterious chest on The Silver Blade, which was known to attract krakens (different from the chest of sorrow). Or, what I proposed, the old mother was chained below the island, both options seem probable and fit the lore.
Well, considering one has a beak and the other has actual teeth.That should answer your question..... The one with teeth is meant for attacking creatures and is obviously a predator. The one with a beak is probably more into foraging for food or eating mullesks. Taxonomically the leviathan would win

In the sot lore the kraken is known for being carnivorous and each tentacle acts like a mouth having teeth on the inside it also doesn’t ever attack with its beak.
So fun fact… The old mother is actually way more massive than you think because it’s said that Krakens Fall was formed over the skull of old mother and that is one of the largest islands (outside of TT islands like SoG or Melee Island). I’m pretty sure the Gargantuan Leviathan is still bigger, especially as it nears the end of its lifetime, but old mother is by no means a small creature and is probably one of the few that could hold a candle to the garg in a fight.

the gargatuan leviathan in my head is what created the dead zones, since dead zones are giant craters with almost zero lifeforms other than leviathan entities, i imagine that the holes was made by gargatuans digging to make sort of nests, and surviving by eating other leviathans or maybe even other gargatuans.
@@oraclesight8613 The one in the lost river isn't juvenile but it also isn't fully grown. It was on it's way out of the lost river, but it got too big and couldn't escape. So it just escaped Juvenile but it just entered adulthood.
I have sort of mixed feelings about my childhood, but holiday nostalgia was definitely real. It diminished a bit into adulthood, but has come back very strongly after having a kid of my own. I've done more hosting to make some holidays extra special and fun for friends, which has also brought back the nostalgia in a slightly evolved way (you get the experience of being "in charge" and absorbing others' joy).
You also should keep in mind the size of the sunbeam and the garg that ate it. The sunbeam is about half the size of the aurora I believe. Which means that garg either doesn’t stop growing, or the one we see isn’t an adult.
I recall reading a line where Ramsey’s ship could sail through the old mothers rib cage without touching the bone. But it was barely. Assuming his ship was the size of the average galleon in sea of thieves, it’s not even remotely close.

I once heard a theory that The Old Mother is the dead Kraken island or under it or something, and that krakens go there to die with their mother. Probably ain’t true, figured it was neat though and would make the old mother even bigger.

I don’t think that’s true. You can see multiple krakens, the one in The Sunken Pearl tall tale (may have gotten the name wrong), you can see hundreds of kraken corpses scattered around the Sea of Thieves. They are near extinction due to the fact the Old Mother was one of the few that could have children and now is gone, presumably starved to death due to the fact she was chained. There’s a lot of krakens, not just one, and based on the amount of kraken corpses we see there are probably a lot more or another Old Mother left, I’d presume the former.
My point was that krakens seem to want to die there for some reason, which could likely be two reasons, one, the mysterious chest on The Silver Blade, which was known to attract krakens (different from the chest of sorrow). Or, what I proposed, the old mother was chained below the island, both options seem probable and fit the lore.

The one with teeth is meant for attacking creatures and is obviously a predator.
The one with a beak is probably more into foraging for food or eating mullesks.

In the sot lore the kraken is known for being carnivorous and each tentacle acts like a mouth having teeth on the inside it also doesn’t ever attack with its beak.

So fun fact… The old mother is actually way more massive than you think because it’s said that Krakens Fall was formed over the skull of old mother and that is one of the largest islands (outside of TT islands like SoG or Melee Island). I’m pretty sure the Gargantuan Leviathan is still bigger, especially as it nears the end of its lifetime, but old mother is by no means a small creature and is probably one of the few that could hold a candle to the garg in a fight.

That is from a mod. The actual in-game size is around 1200 metres(The adult skeleton is around 400 metres and is stated to likely be only the front third)

The fosil is an adult but the scariest fact is that a Gargantuan never stops growing and I think if it dies is because of starvation, sickness or something killed it

the gargatuan leviathan in my head is what created the dead zones, since dead zones are giant craters with almost zero lifeforms other than leviathan entities, i imagine that the holes was made by gargatuans digging to make sort of nests, and surviving by eating other leviathans or maybe even other gargatuans.

@@oraclesight8613 The one in the lost river isn't juvenile but it also isn't fully grown. It was on it's way out of the lost river, but it got too big and couldn't escape. So it just escaped Juvenile but it just entered adulthood.

I have sort of mixed feelings about my childhood, but holiday nostalgia was definitely real. It diminished a bit into adulthood, but has come back very strongly after having a kid of my own. I've done more hosting to make some holidays extra special and fun for friends, which has also brought back the nostalgia in a slightly evolved way (you get the experience of being "in charge" and absorbing others' joy).

garg full grown, as seen in the mod that the very devs of subnautica Approved, is around 6 km long. so nothing short of SCP is even RIVALING it.

The PDA for the garg fossil in the lost river states: "The fossilized remains of an extinct super predator. Its sheer size would have prohibited it from entering such an enclosed space, suggesting the geography of the planet has shifted around it over time. A true apex predator." it didn't get stuck, it died and the lost river formed around it, likely sustaining an entire ecosystem for centuries.
