I watched the MTV " ASIA in ASIA" special Dec 3, 1983 via satellite. Yes, having Greg Lake as bassist was tough- although I like Greg! So I have met all four of these band members - - probably John Wetton, I connected with most. We were both in AA ( Alchoholics Anonymous around the same time - No SAKE for me brother - 17 years, and counting....( and Ride Easy !) John would tell you why he missed the 1983 Asia in Asia. The band couldn't deal with the "wine" John. The " wine" John was interfering with the "music John." He and the original ASIA were able to return to your noble country, because the " MUSIC, and LIFE," John Wetton, found the light! Best, Charlie

Saw Asia in New Haven, CT on there 1st American Tour and it was Incredible. Wish I could find all those pictures from that concert. It kills me that they were lost. So amazing even back in 1982- 1983. 😊
Many thanks. Great band. One of the best of the 80s
This a great surprise!
English translation: When I was in high school, I still remember the shock I felt when I heard "Heat of the Moment" playing in my friend's car. It's the best group. I've been listening to it a lot lately. I want many people to listen to it. I recommend it because it is the best in Asia😃☯✌
One of the best supergroup. Very special.!!
F.... me, I've things to do today but just can't turn this off.
the smile has left your eyes
John Wetton was the best and saw Asia many times but the best was early 2000's when I got to stand right up front and John Wetton was right there..Great times and thanks for giving me a thumbs up when I was singing and clapping 👍 You are missed John
Oh, Ronnie, that's so sweet..
so true...badass entrance...Carl Palmer !
@Brian Bixler So sweet? Nothing sweet about it just plain cool and a great memory but not sweet.
Peace Sells...
Love their version of Roundabout!
Damn that drumming solo
John was a great singer and artist. His voice was wonderful. Miss him so much!!
John Wetton owed a few live recorded Japanese performances after the 82 debacle
@scottburns2600 I have no idea what you are referring to. Since this is of interest to me, what are you referring to?
What debacle burnszy?
English translation: March 7, 2007 The memories of when I went to see this live show came back to me!
I am grateful that I was able to see and listen to the performance of the precious original members live! !
Because there was an unexpected “Video …”~😂 (laughs)
Fantastic!
This is refreshingly tight and well done. Steve is able to stay in the pocket and deliver.
Asia in Asia 😉
I remember seeing them open with this on their 1st tour 🤯
You are a good brother.
My son has gone to your country every year for the last 10 years except 2 for covid! He loves your country, your people, way of life!
The " wine" John was interfering with the "music John."
He and the original ASIA were able to return to your noble country, because the " MUSIC, and LIFE," John Wetton, found the light!
Best,
Charlie
They were a tremendous band x
I was lucky to witness ASIA opening for YES on 7/2/09 @ the Warfield in San Francisco CA. BEST part was, the GREAT Steve Howe did double duty, playing both YES & ASIA sets!! PS: That was my 8th of x 10 YES concerts!!
Thanks so much for share this video, blessings. Great memories, band, performance, songs… Virtuosos
Songs from 4 Prog bands in one concert....WOW!
Love them so much!
At 1:52:46 to 1:54:52 we can hear Geoff's backing vocals although Geoff doesn't appear to be singing.
Man that was a great performance, all in top form, especially wettons voice, having missed ELP live, this was a big treat for fans in the 80’ to have another supergroup, plus buggles song CMONMAN superb!!!
Miss you;
Kieth
Greg
John
Chris
Alan
Never forget ASIA.
I believe it's pronounced Aja.
If you are going to go to the bother to reform then this is certainly the way to do it. Outstanding concert.
Wetton is so under appreciated…what a voice. His version of Roundabout is great
Playing that Chris Squire bass line and singing the lead vocal at the same time is quite impressive albeit a fairly anaemic version altogether.
Asia was the first concert I ever went to, amazing the depth of talent (and potential) they had.
Asia was my first concert at Starlight Theater in Kansas City, July 4,1982. It was an afternoon concert
Thank you very much! Love it!!!
Asia, Rush, Genesis, these are supreme musicians in all three bands.
