I remember that kick, I'ma BAMA fan, I was watching that iron bowl with my brother in law at the time, I jumped up and my right hand hit the ceiling fan, it made helluva a bruise on my thumb, I didn't even realize that until a little while after, the pain I endured was well worth the excitement ROLL TIDE ROLL thanks Van and thanks for Leigh as well
I remember after that game reporters talking to Van Tiffin on the field and I asked him if he knew it was good the second he kicked it and his reply was "Yes sir. Well I looked up and then I knew it was good.".
Van Tiffin said you only get one chance. I have heard for a very long time that Auburn was offsides and he would have gotten another kick. I think the argument is legit. Using the cog, slow the video down to .25. The space bar pauses the video. You can't see the ball, but you can see the holders hands up in the air waiting for the ball. Notice the Auburn guy at the top and where he is when the holders hands go down.
Dude who cares they won, if u like analyzing things analize your wonderful president's progress. China is warming up and your hero sleepy Joe is..... sleeping
@@waynewilliams5802 wtf are u rambling on about. The game is remembered for 1 thing, his game winning kick. But on further review, it wasnt as big a deal as we would like to remember.
Very humble man ! 35 yrs ago here in 2020 that is my first Iron Bowl memory as a kid

He was an humble kid during that interview. You could tell straight up he wasn’t used to the limelight or glory. Still have that game on VHS!
Leigh didn't do too bad in the Tennessee game this year.
Leigh Tiffin 12
Tennessee 10
Van is the best place Kicker in the history of Bama

@@waynewilliams5802 we need to ne a lot more like china. They would have crushed BLMs distruction early.
@@robjohnson8861 I'll agree with the second statement. As far as the first it was a real big deal to us bama fans, don't like loosing to aubern pal...
@@waynewilliams5802 being a graduate of Bama I would not know that.
As the camera zooms in you can see the white hair of my cousin, Billy Neighbors RIP
How could I get this whole video for my dad for xmas??
Hell yea. Against Auburn a field goal should count 6 points too.
Looks like he could’ve made it from 60 yards not just 52. Roll tide roll
Like Rudy, K Porter was offsides and we would have gotten another shot if Van missed.
Not many people remember that, but it is obvious as heck on the replay
Does anyone know what videos these clips are from?
The Van Tiffin Kick was Auburn vs Alabama in 1985.

And Auburn was offsides.
