I remember that kick, I'ma BAMA fan, I was watching that iron bowl with my brother in law at the time, I jumped up and my right hand hit the ceiling fan, it made helluva a bruise on my thumb, I didn't even realize that until a little while after, the pain I endured was well worth the excitement ROLL TIDE ROLL thanks Van and thanks for Leigh as well

I remember after that game reporters talking to Van Tiffin on the field and I asked him if he knew it was good the second he kicked it and his reply was
"Yes sir. Well I looked up and then I knew it was good.".

He was an humble kid during that interview. You could tell straight up he wasn’t used to the limelight or glory. Still have that game on VHS!

Van Tiffin said you only get one chance. I have heard for a very long time that Auburn was offsides and he would have gotten another kick. I think the argument is legit.
Using the cog, slow the video down to .25. The space bar pauses the video.
You can't see the ball, but you can see the holders hands up in the air waiting for the ball. Notice the Auburn guy at the top and where he is when the holders hands go down.
