Funny actual story of what goes on on the sidelines
I was 6 and living near Purdue. I was sad when the Boilermakers lost. And my dad said, “It’s OK. You can watch Bama beat Penn State tomorrow.” He was right. ❤
Coach Bryant was gruff with this " cub: reporter but he knew he needed my TV station for recruiting so me gave me access. Fond memories!
As the camera zooms in you can see the white hair of my cousin, Billy Neighbors RIP
I would love to know what he really said
I have the Daniel Moore painting of the goal line stand; epic play! RTR
wow the part when he said you look at the mirror after a game or after your job and you ask your self did i do the best i could that was beautiful words to live by makes you think about who you are trying to be which is a good person. rip jack rutledge and coach bear bryant. im a auburn fan though.
Like Rudy, K Porter was offsides and we would have gotten another shot if Van missed.
Not many people remember that, but it is obvious as heck on the replay
Great line by Johnny Musso....
_Only you and The Man knows if you did the best you could_
absoutely very powerful message by coach rutledge and coach bryant.
After how many years the respect is still evident. That to me says a lot.
I've read a lot about Coach Bryant and he sounds like a hell of a good man. It still bothers me a bit wandering if he was a racist.
Mal Moore🏆✊💯🙏
I attended a Colts -Dolphins game where the Colts blocked an extra point ,Barry Krause scooped up the loose ball and ran it back to the opposite end zone This was back in 1982 or 1983
He demanded that his players never quit. But he quit at Kentucky, Maryland and Texans A&M.
Ok Karen
@@jeffrecob8646 OK Cleatus
@darrylnelson05 good comeback potsy. Now go hop back into bed with your trans woman and let her enter your fart tube.
THE BEAR WAS TO ME LIKE THE GEORGE PATTON OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL HE WAS MENTALLY TOUGH JUST LIKE PATTON! I MISS WATCHING HIM ON THE SIDELINES!😃
I became a Crimson Tide fan in 2011 after learning about the Tuskaloosa tornado. The only thing I knew about the history of the school was they had a coach they called Bear Bryant. It didnt take long for me to catch up. When you see players getting together to tell stories and remember games it shows the respect and appreciation they had for Coach Bryant. Few schools have had the coaches that Alabama has in Coach Bryant , Gene Stallings and now Coach Saban. I believe their record speaks for itself in that regard. Roll Tide everybody.
Don McNeal saved the game But missed a big tackle on Riggins in the SB years later
I still have chills. What a great series.
He got in on third down
Nope you need glasses.
Dis mane played fo da bear an he be got saban. Mal u is da best playa eva fo da crimson tide. Rip brotha
Three great Miami Dolphins among the number. Quite a bit of Canton, too.
Words to live by.
Penn State SHOULD have Won that Game. They had the Superior Team.
Evidently not , Bama had more points at the end of the game. Roll Tide
Dude was really a funny guy. He could imitate Coach Bryant.
Anyone know where I can watch this whole video?
John Hannah
And Auburn was offsides.
I ♥️ VAN TIFFIN!
Cardinals coaster Log ride Or JD
Matt Suey got in on 3rd down!!! There wasn't instant replay, I am a salty Penn State fan, because if you look at it again, I am right!!!! WE ARE
Nope you need glasses 🤓
Hell yea. Against Auburn a field goal should count 6 points too.
You walk by the mirror and only you and the man know if you did your best. Keep mirror up and clean. When you hear who won let me know, I want to pass on to little young cheerleaders who want to be involved but cannot hear well enough to put fire out leaving vehicle Maybe in time.
Don't have many (any, actually) fond memories of Dude Hennessy. He was a jerk to me and most of the walk-on freshmen in practices circa 1971. He used to call me "Little Man" - I was 5'10" 175 - and he barely came up to my chest. He may have been a great guy, but that's not my memory of him.
Men don’t speak like this anymore. That’s why everyone is so soft… that’s about to change! It’s my life’s mission!
Three words. Leaders. Winners. Class. Everyone in that room.
I didn’t quit… I fell asleep!
Gotta love these reunions !! Alabama players love each other like family!! So....many great memories and great players and coaches !! Thanks
I thought a phone number was gonna pop up on the screen asking for donations.
Nice memories , old football stories the best
One thing I've learned is them boys an gals from bama will beat ur ass in sports, smart, great athletes, good people. GO DAWGS
I remember that kick, I'ma BAMA fan, I was watching that iron bowl with my brother in law at the time, I jumped up and my right hand hit the ceiling fan, it made helluva a bruise on my thumb, I didn't even realize that until a little while after, the pain I endured was well worth the excitement ROLL TIDE ROLL thanks Van and thanks for Leigh as well
Is it just me, or does he kinda resemble coach Bryant
John Hannah was a bulldozer on the offensive line sports illustrated voted him the best lineman ever in the mid-80s
I remember that season like it was yesterday
That was some kick for the win in85 what pressure he must have felt roll tide
Bama and Penn st were both real good teams back then 79 Just a classic game what a goal line stand that was They came through in the clutch under all that pressure Roll tide
One of the greatest plays in College football history bama Fans will never 4 get those plays roll tide
John Hannah might be the best ever
Ok I rem te and back up qb
One of the best stories. Mal Moore did so much for the U of A.
