Absolutely cracking episode! It's a belter! (I'm imitating Phil but I'm also totally serious.) I just adore this pair of presenters; they're so savvy and empathetic. The family was so down-to-earth and sensible, and most refreshingly, they really seemed to love each other.
Not surprised that they chose to love it. They're no longer on top of each other and they've discovered that their community is a gem. While their home is still compartmentalized and the other house offered much more open space, you have to remember that more space means more time cleaning it. Well done Kirstie and Phil. It's always a pleasure to spend time in your company.
The original house looked adorable from the outside. The new addition is not doing it for me. The house now looks odd with no charm from the outside. The least they could have done is to match the exterior to the older house. I wonder how much light has been blocked for the neighbor's house with the new extension. They should have just left mom's house as it was and sold to someone who needed a 2 bed house and moved into a 3 -4 bedrooom house closer to town as hubby wanted.
The massive new brick structure is charmless. Perhaps, shutters would help it look more cozy and integrated although the interior space makes perfect sense. Much happier family.
Maybe it's just me ... but this couple seems particularly entitled. They keep saying things like, "We just need enough space for our family," but they seem to have no concept that plenty of people raise two children in much smaller homes all the time. It's not actually necessary for each child to have their own bedroom, nor to have a separate space so the 6yo can work on "his art," and so on.
The only place I disagree a bit is that since the kids aren't the same sex, I don't think it'd be ideal to be a teen girl and boy sharing a room. I know it's done by plenty if people, and I realize when I say "ideal" that's only my perspective, not, "the one right way."
It's too bad that the extention is brick when the original house is white clapbpard. It stands out way too much for my taste. I would have clad it in white clapboard to match and that would have blended in more.
It still doesn’t work for them as far as location goes…funny word “Location” when you think of who’s hosting this series. And, as kids grow up, and they have activities, friends, and commitments in the area near school, the parents are going to be constantly driving. Uproot one last time and get what everyone needs. The transformation doesn’t capture Mum’s old place, so why not move?
The interior still feels small but smaller rooms can actually work better if they're organized accordingly. This took a lot of time (and money) to update. Hopefully, it will be their "forever home". Mom would be happy to know you (loved it so much you) stayed.
Wonder if we'll ever get a 'list it' or if Kirstie has to be 'win' every episode? Love this show though, nice houses in the UK are better than nice houses here in Australia.
What is the deal with needing a turn key list it house. If they’re willing to do work on the house that they are currently in, why wouldn’t you be willing to do cosmetic upgrades to a house that’s in a better location and has more of the space they want. A purpose built house that’s integrally designed to accommodate a family from the outset. Not some square box of an extension that is not even remotely in keeping with the original design style of this house. No matter what it looks like on the inside. Any addition should be done at the back like the way they do in Australia to the heritage houses in their conservative areas. I can’t believe they were able to get a housing council to approve the plans and construction of that building work.
The addition is so ugly, from the outside - totally out of keeping with the original house. It overshadows the neighbour's place, too. I cannot imagine what it really cost: building, new furniture, decorators, accommodation during the build, stress.
I can't believe that Kirsty's father is selling their family home with her tragically young mother's body buried in the garden alongside their pet pony!
Start by getting out of housing developments. Noise is higher, views are disappointing, neighbors are too close, and all the interiors are relatively the same as any other. They're mundane. 3/4 of a million to live in a cookie cutter house. Dull, dull, dull!!!
You do understand they’re in the uk right? Most houses are attached. It’s rare to get a large detached house that’s far from neighbors unless you’re out in the sticks. You’re not going to get that in any large metro city no matter what your budget is.

I ❤️ how this 🇨🇦 TV show franchise has expanded around the world. Kirstie & Phil are amazing hosts.
This show always puts a smile on my face; thank you for posting!

Spoiler alert! I shouldn't have read your comment before I watched.
Love those bobble heads on the car dashboard!
Thanks for the video. Absolutely love Kristie and Phil ~~ XO
37:15 I love the bubble heads in their car❤❤

There was no way they were moving - she didn't even consider it for a second.

But it's a brick house.

Yeah, but the kids will only need driving around until they're old enough to drive by themselves, and then they move out. Time flies, as we know.
The new addition should’ve been at least painted white to blend in with the existing Home

Phil did get the rare win last season though. Almost every couple said list it.

Well of course you're mortgage-free...in your late forties... which is astonishing.
The addition is so ugly, from the outside - totally out of keeping with the original house. It overshadows the neighbour's place, too. I cannot imagine what it really cost: building, new furniture, decorators, accommodation during the build, stress.
I totally noticed that the addition blocked the neighbor's skylights.
Poor Phil is 0 for 5 this series.
He did win last season though by a giant margin, Almost every couple said list it.
It would look fine if they painted it all one color. They only had a budget of 85 thousand pounds so it looks that way, because it wasn't painted.
I can't believe that Kirsty's father is selling their family home with her tragically young mother's body buried in the garden alongside their pet pony!
Nice
Im going to guess that she will only want to stay where they r.....................
I think she's very difficult...................
