Thank you for sharing such a lovely and personal video. I too journaled 365 days last year, in my some lines a day notebook, and it gave me the courage to try the Cousin again for this year. So far, loving it! Your minimal but aesthetically pleasing decordations in your Cousin are giving me inspriration. I also stick with one pen per book per month, so get to enjoy two fountain pens and inks a month, plus others that I use in my overflow journal, with is a supplement to the Daily entries in my Cousin. Basically it’s where I play with other pens and inks. Because two a month isn’t quite enough ...
I switched to Cousin last year and still loving it. This year I decided to use one pen / one ink per week. Karyna has been an inspiration for decoration and consistency for me. That’s quite a dog in your picture. 🦮🐩

It all starts with just a few lines a day! I started daily journaling in 2017 in a Happy Planner Mini, which was literally the same size as writing in the A6 five year journal. And I've worked my way up from that. And playing with pens and inks is a huge motivator, too!

I’m planning on getting the A6 Hobonichi Hon for 2024. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to use it for, but I think that I’ll use it as my journal. I like how you wrote out bullet points on your weekly spread. Thank you for the inspiration! ❤

Love love love this. I have had the L1917 version of a 5 year journal since 2021 and have been very unsuccessful 😂 I found it just before the end of last year and have been successful for January so far! I love that you have one pen per month. I’ve been cycling through my currently inked pens so each day is a different color, but I like the uniform look of the month in yours!
Yay for getting back into journaling this month! Part of me wants to have every pen inked up for February and journal with a different one everyday in my Cousin, but I think having that many would overwhelm me! It would be so fun to flip through yours and see all the different ink colours!
Oh I loved every second of this. I remember you making so many of these spreads, I feel like both you and us subbies are going down memory lane. I feel so inspired by your journals! I can't wait to see how mine will look at the end of the year. I'm so happy I went for the cousin. It's been soothing to just have one book for planning, thoughts and prayer, versus having a whole bunch of inserts that are so out of order right now in storage lol. The inserts for every purpose were getting a little out of control and too stressful as you mentioned, it was becoming a chore. The cousin has been life changing in the short amount of time I've had it! So far it covers 5/8 of the inserts I would use at a time with tn's 😅 I'm grateful for your corner of the internet. Thank you, Paris! That's so lovely! And yes, so much less to keep track of when you can keep all of your inserts in one book. I went from having 7 planners at the beginning of 2021 to three in 2022. I was able to get four planners in my Cousin, and it was a huge weight off my shoulders. Thanks for watching!

Congratulations! That is quite an accomplishment. I've been doing the 5-year since 2021 and both years I fell off during the summer. I'm going to try keeping it out on my desk this year and see if that helps.

I've had a similar sentiment about blank pages. It's like, silence is also telling. When I look back at my journal and I see days that are lacking in writing or it's very sparse, then I know something was wrong, If it still has some writing but it's not as full as usual, it's most likely just a busy day at work.
Absolutely. Some days I can go back and write once I've been able to process what's happened. Other days, I don't have the energy. But yes, blank pages are telling.

Thank you for this video - even though I am coming to it late! I have been journaling with the Cousin all year. I am going to start my 5 year in January and am also giving the 5 year journal to my daughters for Christmas. Did you find the A6 size limiting? Do you ever worry about the water solubility of the inks? It just dawned on me that I would be sick if I spilled something on my journals and lost all of the work because of my ink choices. Thanks Karyna!
I didn't find the A6 limiting - I like the size because it's only a few sentences a day and I don't feel overwhelmed by doing it daily! I know there is always the risk of getting the journal wet, but I don't let that deter me from using fun inks. I try not to let the fear of something happening keep me from trying new things.
First time to complete the cousin and it felt great.. what do you use to print your photos?
I use the PicStitch app to create collages and to size down the photos, then print on my Canon Selphy.

I just discovered you and love your channel--but I almost. I love the 5-year journal---it s exactly what I need but your affiliate link takes me to a page of so many items, not all of them consistent with what you are showing and I cannot find your A6 5-year---plus---I want to be sure you get affiliate credit. My five year journal is from Hobonichi and there may not be one currently available. I know Hobonichi are doing a new release on Sep 1, and some of their items will be available at US retailers like Atlas, where I have an affiliate link (in the description). I appreciate you wanting to use my link!
What do you use to print out those small pictures? Is it on amazon? Thanks!!
It's the Canon Selphy - it prints out 4x6 pictures, and I use the PicStitch app to create collages to make smaller pictures.

what do you use for the photos? do you use like a mini-portable printer?
I was using a Canon photo printer, but now I organize the photos in Procreate, print on Letter size sticker paper, and cut with my Silhouette.
