I prefer the old sound, but I do notice, albeit a small sample size, is the swith to IRS has solved the wheelhop issue on deceleration and downshifting that was an issue with trailing arm and live axle.
Yeah I kinda feel like they (nascar) is starting to go to far towards an imsa or trans am car instead of an “oval track “ car. I think it will be real good on road courses but might take awhile to be good on ovals ( racing product wise)

Same motor as Gen 6 but deeper sound from different exhaust. You can’t tell fully through the video unless you’ve been to a race but these next gems have a lot of bass sound to them!! Now hearing it in the video it’s really cool to notice.
@@yfi62dortoh I was at the darlington race a few weeks ago and your right the new ones are deep sounding but when the got close they didn’t sound great to me. On other side of track they sounded good because you could hear both exhaust but not up close you can only hear half and it doesn’t sound like a high rpm engine. I honestly was super crazy about the new sound
Just different exhaust setup. One pipe out either side now as opposed to both on one side. Not sure the technical differences in the change that affected the sound this way. But they’re much more bass-y now.
they arent less noisy on the outside, in fact the X pipe makes them ridiculously louder and you would need earplugs if youre sitting in the first few rows 😂
Transmission. They've had significant whine since the 90s.. it more prevent because the camera in the next gen portion is for one, a GoPro, and two, it's further back in the car, where the whine is more prevalent

Lots of steering input on next gen
The tire side walls are narrower (larger wheels).

Why can't they have both ? Keep the old rule engine for the ovals and new engine for the road courses ?

The next Gen now has a sequential 5 speed transmission as opposed to the old 4 h pattern speed trans. These gears are much louder now!
The gen 7 gearshift is so easier
Wish You'd Have Atleast Compared A Toyota And Toyota
I hope they add paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. Upshift by right hand and downshift by left hand.
That'll just ruin NASCAR.
